Looks all ship shaped and Bristol fashion! Useful tips as always, thanks. Do hope the trip goes well with Betsy. Should be a good little adventure, drive safe.

Hmmm, more interesting than I thought it would be as I can use the info/procedures for my humble camper trailer. Thanks John & have a safe trip

Nice little van you've got there. I treat the caravan water system in exactly the same way albeit no on board water and grey water tanks.

As a scientist and engineer, I've always been confused by the red and blue color designations of water valves and climate controls. Who started this convention? To me blue should have been for hot and red for cold, since blue stars are hotter than red stars.

Hi John, I have just inherited my grandad's Trophy, it has been in our family since it was new and has always been looked after. However the leisure battery had dies and we had no idea, since I have charged it up, the water pump hasn't been working, do you have any idea as to why?

Check fuses on the Zig Panel (above toilet door on ours )

Both of my tanks underneath leak at the drain taps , which are in poor condition. I have bought two new taps, but thought that they would just screw in to replace the old. Not so. do you know if the tanks can be reasonably dropped and if they have an access to possible fit a back nut onto the new taps.

Sorry Geoffrey I have never dropped the tanks on mine so not got any insights to share. Anyone else able to advise Geoffrey? Possibly the same on most 1990's VW Autosleeper van conversions. (Trophy Tribute trident etc etc)

Hi John, hope you are keeping well. As usual your video is a mine of useful information, ALL of which I will follow with my Trophy. However, you make no mention of the Carver Cascade 2 waterheater. Mine won't work on gas. I know that this is a very common fault with vans of this age, and that a guy up north can supply a refurbished burner unit, but can you give me or the Facebook page any pearls of wisdom. I am about to take the burner vent off and have a look at the damage. Also any thoughts on a 100W solar panel + 2nd Leisure battery -- cheers.

      Hi Robert.
My cascade has the same issues. I only ever use it on electric hook up anyway so not a problem but I would like to fix it just for completeness. I don't think there is a=enough left of mine to warrant sending it to anyone😁. I must do a video to show the situation.
I fancy adding Solar but to be honest its quite a way down my list. I tend to use the van for 3 or 4 days at a time and im not running into problems with rubbing out of battery, but future adventures may demand a little more stored power in reserve. I quite like the idea of putting my own system together. A good location for the battery is probably the the biggest puzzle to solve as the Trophy is not overly blessed with extra storage locations. Dont know if there is sufficient height below the drivers seat to put a leisure battery like in my old T25. I might look at putting in an under van floor location. Whats your thoughts?

Carver cascade water heaters are a ball ache all day long, even when they were new back in the day. Get it out and give it a clean up paying particular attention to the gas jets. Otherwise it is useless to you anyway. Truma heaters seem to be all the rage. Not sure if these are any good....
