Hey everyone! There is a guy who likes to call my Eastonmade ULTRA a kindling machine in the comments, I would like you all to send him some positive comments, I think he needs some love! Can you all help me out? His Name is Timothy Fishel in the comments, tell him some thing....
Maybe he's one of the crowd that so covets your fine kindling!! Not me, of course!! Maybe offer him a bagful for $5.00. If that doesn't work, tell his mommy!! He obviously needs a 'time out'!!...On the other hand, maybe he's the curator of a kindling museum, not attracting many tourists, so just kind of striking out! Besides, everyone knows you can't make toothpicks out of mixed hardwoods!!
I’m so blessed that I live in a similar market as Mr. Ken. Literally the same just 1.5hrs East. The information I am learning from Chris and Ken is invaluable. For the last two weeks alls I can talk about is the wood I’m harvesting from my little forest and preparing for next burning season…I have a dad that’s just as into it as I am, although he lives 4.5hrs away in milwaukee…. It brings me a lot of joy to give my dad a reason to keep working hard to retire soon and come up here with me to build our little landscaping firewood business. Love this channel.
In my working days I worked for a GP pulp mill, then LP and 1 of my jobs was running a Cat988 with a 25 yard chip bucket, thanks for bringing back old memories
This is a fantastic example of how to go about promoting your business (and wider industry). These guys didn't have to expend the time and effort to do this for a (no disrespect) relatively small UA-cam channel, but they did, because they can see the value in it. Awesome job, Brothers Carlson. 👏 Keep it up.
I came for the firewood videos but am always fascinated with anything in the wood industry! A huge THANKS to these gentlemen for taking time out of their busy day to share with us!👍 It would be awesome if you could film again sometime when the train cars are being loaded. Cool...cool...cool...stuff!😮
Well done brothers Carlson. That is an impressive operation. I enjoyed seeing the large clamshell loader in operation. Happy to see the vice president hauling firewood instead of setting in the office watching UA-cam videos-Ha. GNI
That was one interesting video and interview at Future wood! Quite the operation they have! Thanks for the tour Chris and Ken! Great to see it in action and the clam shell working! Also great to see the VP working too! Have a great day! GNI
Hard to imagine how much hardwood pulp the Verso mill in Wisconsin rapids used, it's closing has left everyone struggling for a market for pulp. I was surprised to see Future wood selling retail firewood anything to get a market for hardwood pulp. Great video as always I learned a lot👍😎
Kenny.... Let the guy finish just one sentence... Ha!!! interviews are supposed to be finding out what the OTHER person knows. Good ol' brothers. Loved the tour!!!
Really neat video. I’ve been driving by a wood pallet factory, in West Baton Rouge Parish, lately. They come in as logs, and leave as complete pallets. Thousands each day. It’s so cool.
Great video, the company is certainly forward thinking in utilizing the endless supply of reject wood for firewood. Good way to supplement income and not waste resources.
Man, if I could ever get caught up in my shop I’d like to take Ken’s splitter and modify. I have some laws of physics bending modifications in mind. So much so it’ll make that ultra look like a menards special!
Wondering, do they make or furnish wood for manufacture of pellets for pellet stoves? Pellet stoves have gained some market share in the south. You buy the pellets by the ton and they are delivered, sometimes bagged or raw. Just curious!
Hi Chris and Kenny!!😀😀 Thanks for giving us the tour of Future Wood!! It was very interesting to see. Was Kenny getting a little homesick for running the machines?? Take care my friends!!😀👍 TTYL!! LOGGER AL
That was interesting boys.... Lots of handling of wood especially the chipping woods, supplement the wood yard with Firewood, expensive getting processors in for the firewood, but sales would make that option viable or not.
You have a choice of two log splitters, one with 8.5ec cycle-time and one with 6.5sec cycle-time. Would it be efficient to add auto-cycle? The faster machine also has 250 pound higher log lift rating and is 80mph highway towable but costs $2000 more base price.
I think alot of folks get very focused on the cycle time. At some point even 2 men can't keep wood feed to it or pushed away fast enough. Basically to fast can lead to new work flow problems. Comfort of use will allow the most time spent using a piece of equipment which will get you the most product at the end of the day and it needs the ability to split what you ask of it. IMO
@@waynetharp, when splitting the right sized wood with a 4-way wedge, would be nice to be able to put the next piece in place, hit the levers, and go get the next one. I did a test with my glacier with the return stroke on a total cycle-time of about 11sec. I can set the ram ti return, grab the next round, and am waiting for it to finish retracting.
@@thefirewooddoctor Copy...The auto return is nice feature especially splitting alone. I guess it is a numbers game now, on rather enough wood can be processed/sold to pay for next faster option!👍
Just a thought if you have a CDL why don't you get a cheap log truck or if you don't why not a log trailer surely would save alot in the long run hauling your self much respect though brother
@@InTheWoodyardthat makes sense considering some of them cranes on the trucks can be really sensitive I suppose your supporting local businesses too much respect brother
Nice to see a big company like Future Wood dump a bunch of wood on the market at 85 a cord to eliminate any competition around them... glad I don't live there
Why do you constantly feel the need for these negative comments? Do you have some vendetta against Easton or were you just not held enough as a baby??? 🙄🙄
Nope! Didn't get to see the Ultra this time!! In Europe, they pay big bucks for kindling! So it seems like it could be a good thing! Kinda depends on your perspective. - I got a cousin named Tim. He's kind of a disputative guy!!
Any log splitter can be a kindling machine, depends on how it is used. Now for intentionally making kindling, hard to beat the Ultra for all-around versatility in splitting firewood and making kindling.
Did I miss the link to your channel? Where you make the perfect firewood and have absolutely no waste. You should be a little kinder and work on being a better human. Have a nice day Tim.

Can a bigger pump be installed on your current splitter to increase the cycle time some without the cost of another splitter?
The oak chips that go down south what are they used for?
Paper mill
I think it is either for making paper, particle board or blandex plywood.
Wonder how many matchsticks could be made out of all that wood? 😂goodnight Irene
Number don't go that high!! You'd have to go to the limit 3 or 4 times, then add them up, to find out!!
