In this video you'll hear me refer to the jacket as the 'Element', but to avoid any confusion the name of the jacket was changed after I published the review. I could change the title, thumbnail and description but none of the original audio.
I have this one for few months now. Completely soaked after ~5h riding in a moderate to heavy rain, started to leak after about 3,5-4h (avg speed between 60-80). I say it is good enough for most of us. Comfy, plenty of room by design which is like getting best of both worlds - I have tightly fitted armor inside of it and enough space for some additional layers. I will build upon what was said and add that those waist pockets double as a vents (tho really only when empty, unless riding a motorcycle is not enough of leaving on the edge for you xD). I also have a mesh jacket from this series in green (territory), rode a bit more in this - no complains, same principals, mesh can be looked through! :D wicked. As for the pants - have both for a set when riding on adv offroad. paired with mesh I have a ITB offering (penisula) - super impressed with it. went down on my gs ~30 times in speeds between 0-40km/h when hitting the ground - not even a scratch on the pant, even when I highsided when rear caught grip on a meadow and I landed in a dirt road (lol xD). No crashes in element pants but worth mentioning is suuuper generous space for your boots, both layers open super wide and you will fit ANY boots in there, ANY! (personally I have a pair of toucans). What else... leasy to clean (both of the sets), and I can fit the knee armor (not having braces yet but they should fit under - #roomyAF). If you have any questions feel free to ask. Cool thing is that you can have both with you if needed, armor stays on you just outer layer is going to change.
I like to look and it seems to be doing all I wanted from it. It'll be interesting to see how it copes as we move into winter. I can't go too mad off road with it as there are no crash bars, and I don't want to have to call Honda to tell them i've smashed the lovely bodywork to pieces if I drop it!
Saw this at ABR and liked the look of it, good to hear it worked well for you. I have a Rev'it Horizon jacket and trousers, but they get hot quickly off road and I don't want to keep washing my regular kit after an off road trip. Also saw you at ABR but didn't get a chance to talk to you, was going to ask if you still had your 790, then saw your vid of your tumble. Hope the leg is better now.
Yep I like it, and I’ve got a territory jacket now for really warm weather. You should have given me a nudge. Yep I still have the 790 and most likely for the long term too. Yep almost 100% now
Thanks for that, great detail as always. I use a Mosko Moto Rak jacket and pants combo with my Knox Urbane Pro jacket for a similar setup and I love it, but it’s even more eye-wateringly expensive than this one, sadly. The Mosko blog does a good job of explaining just why theirs and similar jackets are so expensive though. They’re surprisingly complex beasts.
No Problem, there was a few that I looked at the Rak being one, but I wanted a jacket with a full length zip. The Adventure Spec Trail was another, but I prefer a fully removeable hood. There is certainly lots that goes into this jackets construction. Only time will tell how it holds up, but first impressions are promising.
ManCaveMoto is correct about the sizing if you are just wearing armor and a shirt/jersey underneath. Having just tried it on I would need an XL. Even though these are a little more generous in size than other revit items they are still a little small compared to Klim. For example the XL in this revit seems to be the L in a Klim Traverse jacket which I am able to wear over the Baja S4 mesh jacket.
I, here in the USA ride with Weisse gear from the UK. Fortunately for me, Weisse USA/Tour and Track, is run by the daughter of Weisse Clothing in the UK. She is a friend of mine and the clothing is the finest I have ever worn on a motorcycle. Highly recommended! Not made in China like Revit...
I’ve seen some Weise bits and pieces,!it looks like good value kit. According to the label the Element jacket isn’t made in China. But, regardless, it doesn’t always mean that something made in China is inferior quality
The new technical clothing is expensive but I was thinking about that the other day, how far technology has come, I remember when I lived in the UK all we had was jeans and a jacket, leathers and waterproofs, which got hot on warm and wet day or you get your pants and shirt wet while trying to find a spot to finally put on your waterproofs and then it felt like a sauna the rest of the trip. I don't like how much things cost myself but I consider buying decent gear an investment to keep me comfortable and hope I never have to try out it crash capabilities, what is that old saying Dress for the slide not the ride. I actually do like the new stuff, I used to have a mesh riding pants and jacket with pads I wore them over my shorts and t shirt on my way to work and home I worked outside in very hot temps but I wanted to be protected while riding. I live in the Southern California Desert now big change from Old Blighty. Cheers. PS I also hike and mountain bike and the gear for those hobbies can be pricey too, pretty much the same technology breathable, tear resistant type stuff.
Hi Donald, yes the kit now is infintely better than it used to be, and the choice is so wide now too. Yep, the 'waterproofs dance' in the rain has been done many times ;) The last group ride i went on we got hit my a surprise thunderstorm, by the time we found somewhere to pull over everyone was wet through to their underwear, so we didnt even bother putting it on! Yes, i'd rather sweat than have a skin graft! I'm jealous about the SoCal thing at all! Ride Safe
After 10000km of dirt, dust and mud the jacket is not waterproof anymore, maybe for ten minutes in heavy rain, revits element h2o pants is even worse, they start to leak immidieatly. Very comfy gear. Would i buy again? Maybe for half the price.
Hi, please contact our customer service or dealer if you have any problems with our products. They should not leak. The jacket/pants should be washed with our special textile wash to keep the waterproof membrane working like it should. If the membrane is dirty it loses its waterproofing capability. Thanks! REV'IT!
My British friend, I was wondering if that African Twin in your video is your's or one that they gave you to demo. I know that you did a video on a A.T. & figured that you might like to make it your own as I remember that you were quite fond of the bike. If it wasn't so expensive and packed down nice and small, it would make a nice waterproof to keep under the seat when out in the summer (all 3 days) with an airmesh jacket on for them you know it could rain times.
Yep, its lightweight but doesnt pack down that small, mind you it can fit in a reasonably sized tail or tank bag. Obviously thought it’s much more robust than a waterproof
We have the DIRT Series Barrier rain jacket designed exactly for that use, it packs up in a very small bag and can be stored under the seat if you want.

Thanks, they are cut looser. I went for a 2XL, and I’m a 46 inch chest, but it is roomy. I wear a Knox armoured shirt underneath it, and can still comfortably fit a down jacket when it gets cold.
Great review, thanks. I got the whole suit from revit. You mentioned you could wear a thin down jacket when temperature drops. Do you wear it over the armour and if so, what mid layer do you use?
Thanks, I’ve just picked up the trousers too! I do yes and it’s one that came with the ByCity Belfast jacket (see review on channel) but any lightweight down mud layer will do the job. If it’s really cold I’ll put the armour back in and wear a KEIS heated jacket under it, that works well
Indeed, most of the time thats the case unless you're paying for a brand premium. I'm using a Rode Wireless Go Mic. Its the first generation, but it seems to work pretty well, a little tinny and my audio editing skills are not up to scratch to get a fuller sound.
You can yes, they do offer various levels of abrasion resistance. The knox action pro is CE single A rated, but the urbane pro is AA and can be worn on its own offering good abrasion resistance. You can throw a hoodie over the top and keep and very casual look.

@@mancavemoto I appreciate the response. I took the risk and bought the jacket several months ago, in part on the basis of your thorough review. It has proven to be a good purchase, as I use the jacket on cooler or wetter days. When travelling in Australia, I now interchange between the Element/Component and Territory jackets given they both pack down to a reasonable size. I’ve removed the protectors from both jackets, wearing one or the other over Rev’it’s Proteus body armour. This approach has provided greater comfort and flexibility given daily temperature swings of more than 25C can occur in some months, while the range on longer trips in total may approach 35C. Thanks again.
@@jbmoto5050 Do you carry both the Territory and Component jackets with you? Or just wear one and leave the other at home, based on the anticipated conditions? I have the Territory and Proteus, brilliant on the trails but surprisingly chilly on highway sections between trails unless it's a really hot day. That Territory really blocks no air at all. I've been geting away with chucking a raincoat on over the top, but that's not going to cut it in winter. So I'm trying to decide whether to pair the component with a jersey to change to in the middle of the day and on slower trails, or just carry both jackets.

It would be better if it was Gore-Tex. I like the other colour, too. This would be just the job over my mesh jacket in winter in northern Thailand. Then I saw the price. 359 pounds for something using a lower standard membrane. No thanks. Here's an idea for something to go over your armoured mesh top: go to an outdoor shop and buy a much cheaper Gore-Tex top. Motorcycle clothing is always a rip-off. Good review, though.
To be fair a lot of the other laminate materials work just as well, but the difference is that Goretex has their lifetime guarantee, regardless of the brand manufacturer of the garment. All materials will eventually get overcome and let in water, the idea is to hold it off as long as possible. I tested the Klim Kodiak which is Gore-tex 3 layer pro, which is the pinnacle so far. But it's heavy and stiff, so there is always a compromise. I did look at outdoor gear, but to be honest for the same type of material is not far off the same price, and it is often not tough enough for bike use. Thanks

Outdoor GTX garments don't have a fit made for off-road riding,don't have any abrasion resistance and won't hold up well in a crash. We are working on something for the future that includes a GTX shell.
This is designed to wear a protector vest underneath the jacket. So the fit is made for that. No need for adjuster when combining it with a protector jacket.

Very fair review. I have had this Jacket and H2O pants for a few years now and it’s very easy to layer up underneath both. Works for me.

There isn't a connecting zip, but you can 'cinch' in the bottom in which keeps the drafts out

Sorry i missed this comment. I've just tried it and without having to force it it rolled into the dimensions of 22cm Long 17cm wide and 14cm depth

How much wind goes under it around waist?
It does have a drawcord in the waist if you want to cinch it in. I’ve not had any wind coming up inside it so far
