I’m from Mexico, and I have a Rover 75, it’s really emotional to see all of this legends, makes me feel really proud to be part of this great history, I really love my Rover, and I’ll keep for the rest of my life, hope one day to assist one of these events.
I am from the Netherlands and the proud owner of a 75 1.8 Connoseur . But It seems I am born in the wrong country ! The choice you have in the UK of fabulous classic Rovers is just mindbogling , and all these beautys look so loved and teken care of ! Roverheaven ! ❤❤❤❤❤
Yea, I should have been there with my P6 but had a lousy virus . Oh well there's always the next one in 49 years time. Thanks very much for this superb film of the day with those wonderful Rovers of all types.
Dad had 2 P5`s a saloon and a coupe, I had 6 SD1`s and now I have a Range Rover P 38... I loved/love all of them. It is the V8 that does it for me :-))
Only just found this video, takes me back to the mid 80s. Had a saloon the same colour but white roof. 3litre straight 6. Most comfortable car ever. It was an early one of i recall 738 DJU. Dont think it made it 😢
I sure would love to own a P5B, (like the beautiful example shown @7:56!!)I think they're such a fantastic looking car, like a Jag but better, don't know how to explain it....silver/maroon two tone, manual trans, and this may ruffle some feathers, but I'd swap out that GM based V8 for a Ford V8 powerplant, I'm a GM hating Ford man, it'd be one of the first things I'd do to it....✌🏻🇺🇸
At 1:11 what is that it looks amazing, I saw it had the Buick 216/Rover 3.5 V8 under the hood ,sorry I’m not familiar with these cars you don’t see rovers in the US
There were plenty of 75s and ZTs at ROVERFEST 2017 they feature towards the end of the video ua-cam.com/video/JODM72go_2Q/v-deo.html , another ROVERFEST was arranged for 2021 but due to the pandemic is is currently postponed. There are many Rover forums you could join to meet like minded people, for example the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/index.php.
Rover still actually exists today. JLR is basically PROPER REAL ROVER (Solihull) merged with Jaguar. and now owns the Rover brand. The big company that went broke in 2005 is basically Austin /Leyland under the name of 'Rover'
@@armjos1 It exists mate. The Wilkes brothers (the original owners of Rover) moved their factories to Solihull to make the Rover P6 and Land Rover. Solihull has always been and is a Rover /Land Rover Factory. There wasn't a purge of employees, so pretty much the people that continued working at Solihull were proper Rover people. Not Leyland or Austin or Morris. To this day the factory still churns out Land Rovers. You can call it JLR but to all intents and purposes its a Rover Jaguar merger. As for the name, JLR own it not Tata. If JLR was sold the name goes with it.. Again pretty much what collapsed was Austin. Over the years Leyland closed down all the factories except the Rover one (Solihull) and the Austin one (Longbridge) Since all Rover cars made in the 80s/90s were from Longbridge they were essentially rebadged Austins. Rover Cars was not a volume business, it just contentrated on executive cars. Rover Group (basically renamed British Leyland) was Austin as a volume producer but because by the 80s the Austin name was unfashionable and trashed the new Chairman in 1986 decided to drop the Austin name and call EVERYTHING Rover!
@@nudisco300 I have the same passion mate for rover, triumph,Austin,Morris,mg,jaguar,Wolseley, alvis, Riley and rooted group and anything British. Let's hope it comes back one day. Good man
Rather an obvious comment considering the SD1 was introduced during 1976! In my opinion the design, at the time, was way ahead of anything else on the market!
Not sure I'd go as far as based on the 356GTB rather more influenced by, during an interview in 1982 David Bache "cited the Ferrari 250LM and 365GTB/4 Daytona as the major influences on the SD1 - and this can certainly be seen in the style around the front end of the car; the headlights and indicators are practically a facsimile of the classic Ferrari’s."

Many thanks for watching and commenting Daniel. I have to agree with you about P5B Coupes, I'd love to own one! Jim

Many thanks for watching and commenting.
Im watching a rebuild on a Rover P5 on a website called Cold War Motors right now! Cool old cars. Thank you.
So am I, really enjoy seeing Scott and the rest of the guys from Alberta each week. Thanks also for your comment.
That Bright Green is a superb colour. on the p6's.
It certainly is, if I remember correctly it's Avocado.
Stunning video ! Thank you to allow Rover's jewels to shine again. BMW ! What have you done ? Thumb up.
Many thanks for your comments.
@@JVChester You're welcome. Here in Corsica there is no longer P6, Sterlings or even 200 so your channel is for me the only way to be delighted !
Great video, as usual. Great range of cars, was a fab day out.
Thanks David, certainly was a great day.

Many thanks Mark, pleased to hear you enjoyed the video.
Many thanks for the video! Sadly I missed the event, but great to see what i missed.

Niether Rover nor Saab should ever have gone out of business. If I were British I'd likely add TVR and Bristol to the list.
Very good thank you:)

It's an Australian built Leyland with the rather uninspiring model name of P76, en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leyland_P76.
Ok thanks
Is there parts reddy available for 3 litter Rover???. This was one of the British best engineering
J'ai une rover SD1 j'adore cette marque !
Merci beaucoup pour votre commentaire
The 75 was a beautiful car - spoiled by its face-lift.
What pray tell is that @ 5:15?
A replica of the 1950 gas turbine powered prototype Rover Jet1, the original is on display at the Science Museum London.
Is the Roverfest just for classic cars - or all Rovers ? ..... I have a 75 in mint condition and would like to meet up with other Rover owners.

If you mean those just over a minute into the video they are Australian built Leyland P76.

Rover should have been as successful today as bmw or Mercedes, British leyland ruined the company
Armjos1 the management and the lack of communication ruined BL

SD1 front ends look so far OUT of DATE !! Proper Retro styling, 70's / 80's NAFF styling.

How can it be retro styling? It looked modern at the time. That's the point with fashions mate - they change.
