I love the sound of the 5.0 reving and building power! I drove mine to work this morning just so i could have some fun. Mustang GT intake manifold really helps liven the truck up too
I could not agree more. However where I live would be about 250 mile round trip just to put E-85 in my gas tank so I don't feel like wasting my time on seeing numbers I can't obtain 7 days a week.
@@northjerseykevin409 I know it's been a while since you posted this question but yes I'm sure all 2018 5.0 take e85. Your gas cap it's supposed to be yellow letting you know it takes e85
Yeah didnt expect it to go that high to be honest. Just wanted to do a pull in 5th, 6th, and 7th to see what the difference was. Obviously 5th gear works best. Fixing to start transforming this truck very soon. should get intresting.
This was the original Omega tune. I just recently installed the Omega X and love the difference. I'll dyno the truck again after a few more mods are done.
I put the Oz Omega X tune on my 2019 F150 5.0L back in November and I absolutely love the X tune. I’d love to see your dyno numbers on the Omega X tune. Do you have any E85 gas stations around you? It would be great to see your Omega X tune numbers with some E85 in the tank. I know Oz recommends a 50/50 blend of “pump gas” and E85 for the best power numbers. And, I know I can really tell a huge difference in power when I run a 50/50 blend of E85 and 93 octane in my truck.
@@Brian_195 Sounds good. I have an ‘18 5.0 that I’ve been thinking about a tune. And you said you saw a big difference. Do you have an exhaust or any other mods? @@northjerseykevin409 I have a 2019 Roush Off Road F-150 (non-supercharged 5.0L), so the only performance mods I have on it are a Roush Cold Air Intake and the Roush exhaust, and that’s it. Everything else, besides the tune, is stock. And, I’m done putting anymore performance mods on it. It has way more than enough power for me at this point. And, to be honest, I don’t think my cold air intake and my exhaust make the tune that much stronger. I think you would see close to the same power as I currently have if you just got the tune and nothing else. Hope this helps, brother.
Just picked up a 2018 5.0 10 speed. Was wondering how the tune is when braking and transmission is dropping gears do you get that engine brake/sudden jolt. Also how well is it when gears are going from 3-6 that's where I see most of the struggle.
Sorry I'm just now seeing this. I can tell you my truck doesn't have any engine break /sudden jolt when slowing down. When accelerating between 3-6 gear it really pretty smooth .... firm shifts but smooth acceleration
my honest guess is around 65hp-70hp. I can tell you this, the truck went 14.99-15.00 in ¼ mile before tune. after tune it went 13.60's. The difference in power was mind blowing.
So what was the stock numbers before the tune? Just curious as I have a 2020 5.0 f150 that ive been thinking about getting a tune for. Just really curious the difference from the stock numbers
I can honestly tell you what mine ran in stock form. I've looked at 100's of videos of trucks just "tuned" like mine and not o e single video was above 360hp range. not to mention that was with corrected horsepower gains. My truck was done on Uncorrected numbers and it still was above everything I've seen. My guess was about 35-40 horsepower and 50 ft-lbs gained with the tune. I can tell you this.... I was in shock at the difference the tune actually made. worth every penny.
Just got a 2021 f150 Lariat. 5.0L. 4x4. 3.73. Dealer is mod friendly and brought up that Magnuson moss act before I could mention it lol. Sooooooo...even though I've had my truck for only 2 weeks... Sooooooo...how far are you guys from unlocking the 2021 PCM's...?😜🤣
5th gear pull "which isn't a fair deal because truck shuts down at 4500 rpm. Truck made 318.65 HP / 289.67 FT-TQ. After tune and pulling all the way to 7000RPM was 382.65HP/381.83FT-TQ So with just a tune I gained 63.62 HP / 92.16 FT-TQ. Not bad for just a tune. Side note .... Truck made a 14.98 @ 103mph in 1/4 mile stock and with Tune made a 13.6 @ 103mph. That tuner is worth every penny.
Meanwhile these numbers have zero correction factor. Show me any gen 3 Coyote on 93 octane with only a tune making these numbers. You do realize you can drive down the road with the hood off right. there is cars and trucks doing it at the drag strip every weekend. I was just at truck nationals in Baytown, Texas last weekend and I saw probably 25 trucks running with no hood. So I really don't get your point.
I asked that exact question to the dealership. They told me that a programmer doesn't void a warranty. Ford has to prove that the programmer caused a problem. So in other words, if the air conditioner goes out you still have a warranty regardless of programmer. If motor or transmission has a recall from Ford, then not voided. If you launch in 4x4 and destroy the gearbox or snap drive shaft then you gonna fit the bill.

Not running E85 in the 5.0 leaves tons of power on the table. The truck will see 30-31° of timing on a good E85 tune and make 93 Oct feel stock.
