    If you are looking for a very ingenious and original Cafe Racer project, you won't find much better than this one.
    It is based in a Honda CBX 250 Twister, and it was built in Argentina by Lucas Layum, owner of Lucky Custom, and his team.
    This motorcycle is a great example of how some difficulties can drive a Human Being, to find his best creativity.
    Enjoy.
    My special thanks to Ismael Quetglas for helping me getting some of the video/photo material about this motorcycle.
    My special thanks to Pedro Torres, for his great help with my english.
    Here are some interesting links about this Honda CBX 250:

    One of the best creations I have ever seen. And with features never seen before in any other, like the superb front lights \ deflector. A good example showing that "old garbage" can be made into beautiful parts.

    Since I was in my sick bed after the accident, one of the designs I found looking on the internet was this bike. On that occasion I thought what would be the opinion of Racer TV about it. I had liked it a lot and it was one of the inspirations in the work of modifying my Pulsar 200 ns, especially since both bikes hold the rear mono shock suspension. But what strikes me the most is the strange fairing that holds the triad of small headlights. Rarely do you see such ingenious solutions born out of necessity. It's those things that in their time the old Rockers used to invent this design that we love: the Cafe Racer bikes. Call it ingenuity and necessity. I like so much the smart solution to hide the battery and electronics, the exhaust with that curvature that ends in the rear tail, the inverted front suspension, which now I know the origin of it. It is a design that surprised me by the way that imprints on the bike something between a retro and futuristic path. Perhaps the only thing that is not totally to my liking is those stripes, in some part demerit the overall design, which is wonderful. By the way, after seven and a half months of medical leave, last Monday I returned to my work. It is the beginning of recovering my normal life completely. Throughout those months, as a result of the pain of the injuries, I even thought about quitting motorcycles for good, but my love for them and the great videos of beautiful designs from this channel made me rethink that. Being a victim of a reckless driver that goes thru the streets and highways without any regard of human life is something traumatic and no doubt painful. Therefore recovering life and the things we love about it is something important. Many thanks Racer TV. Muito obrigado amigo Vitor.

Thanks God I survive due first to the Almighty and a six kilograms of protecting gear I was wearind that awful day! Another beautiful bike!
    Although the first view of the headlight shroud showed it was obviously a fender.
    Not something I like but I do appreciate the builder trying something different.
    The other fail is the tiny front brake rotor.
    He spent big money on the wheels but kept the little dirt bike front brake?
    My two small complaints for an overall excellent build.
    I like the morph shots showing the changes from stock to modified, please keep doing it!

      Olá amigo. Infelizmente não consegui obter informações sobre esses detalhes. Mas reconheço que um bom motor, e ainda por cima da Honda, depois de bem alterado pode atingir potencias incríveis. Mas se diz que essa moto chega aos 180 Kmh, provavelmente terá uns 40 cv ou até mais. :) Um abraço.

    • @RACER_TV

      Olá Amigo. acho que descobri a origem do tanque de combustível. tenho quase a certeza de que é de uma Yamaha rx135 :) Um abraço.

    • @robinsonpeixoto8521
      @robinsonpeixoto8521 7 років тому

      Pow!!! Quem poderia imaginar? Rsrs.. Realmente as proporções parecem ser idênticas.. exceto por um detalhe: Após comparar umas dez vezes rsrs.. cheguei a conclusão que o tanque original tem a linha da seção superior ligeiramente mais arredondada.. sendo, nesta moto, mais reta. Porém penso que deve ter havido uma alteração ali. Valeu Vitor.

      Sim, mas quando falei em ser difícil comprar peças na Argentina, estava a referir-me às peças típicas de cafe racers, como por exemplo faróis, assentos, piscas, guidão, escapamentos, etc. Em relação às sua imagens de sugestões, eu sei que existem muitas boas cafe racers pela Internet. O problema é encontrar uma moto que tenha fotos/videos suficientes que me permitam fazer um video de 5 minutos. Obrigado pela ajuda. Um abraço.

    Certainly is different...I prefer bikes built by individuals rather than customs build by Big budget shops - the wheels probably cost nearly as much as my Thruxton! Cheers👍

      @RACER_TV  7 років тому

      Indeed. These wheels were more expensive than the original bike at the beginning of the project. :) Cheers.

    What a bike! So many questions!!! But ill ask just two haha... The tank, is it a cb400 tank? The wheels, custom made or from some other bike? Keep it up mate!

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  7 років тому +1

      Sorry, but there is not any information about the origin of the fuel tank. The Wheels were entirely custom made. Thanks for your comment my friend. Cheers.

      I believe now that the fuel tank came from a Yamaha rx135. :)

      there is no information about the fuel tank. But i think you hit the jackpot, because i really believe that the gas tank came from a Yamaha rx135. Cheers.

      Brother. Can you tell me about the foot raise. Will the cafe look good with original foot raise (brakes and gear) or should I bring it back to make the cafe look heavier at front.

    Nice,
    I've been meaning to ask you, have you done a video on a build done by women?

    • @thatdutchguy2882
      @thatdutchguy2882 7 років тому +1

      Sonwabile Rwaxa I've asked him that too a few months ago,....he really should show a female bike builder and her creation.

    • @sonwabile
      @sonwabile 7 років тому

      ThatDutchguy did you get an answer?

    • @thatdutchguy2882
      @thatdutchguy2882 7 років тому +2

      Sonwabile Rwaxa Yes, he first misunderstood the question to mean just "hot woman on bikes" and he reminded me that his channel was about Cafe Racers hahahaha 😂,....but no, after i correct him in what i said and meant he never did come back with a suggestion on a female Cafe Racer builder.
      I would like to see a few female builders get to show their creations here, and with that i still mean their bikes hahaha 👍😂 .

    • @sonwabile
      @sonwabile 7 років тому +2

      lol i guess that's was on his mind when you spoke about women.
      I'm really interested in what women are building.

    Hey man I have a really big question. If you go over to doitwithdans video on his Harley dirtbike build that he's turning into a cafe big he decided to turn the clip ons upside down and he also is gonna ruin the original paint that is just fine. Are not both of these a huge sin. A really big mistake that really cant happen. I feel like installing them upside down is a really disrespectful thing and just can't happen. Removing the paint also steals the bikes soul because it's what the bike was born with right? The paints not bad at all but I'm really hoping you can help me if I'm incorrect!

    A very impressive effort though I'll never understand why there is such an aversion to front mudguards. There's mud in your face.

    • @RACER_TV
      @RACER_TV  7 років тому +1

      I believe that most enthusiasts think that a cafe racer looks more cool, with no mudguards. But considering that most Cafe Racer bikes will be riden on good weather, the utility of mudguards is almost none. Thank you my friend for sharing your opinion. Cheers.

    • @MrAndrew1953
      @MrAndrew1953 7 років тому +1

      Can't agree - lack of a mudguard leaves you with a big ugly front tyre. A tapered front mudguard adds to the bikes appearance and keeps most of the muck off your visor in wet weather. Can be dangerous if you don't have clear vision.

    • @nermket4849
      @nermket4849 7 років тому +3

      Some people (including myself) like the look of an "ugly" front tire lol
      Not that some guards/fenders don't look amazing, as far as production bikes, Indian makes the best looking ones imo

      Andrew Hoffman
      Well, i think this is the exact situation where tastes are not discussable. I recognize that it is impossible/dangerous riding it in a wet road, but it is also a matter of personal taste in what concerns to a Cafe Racer. But i truly respect your opinion. :) Cheers.
