Luzon to Mindanao Part 17: Sogod, Southern Leyte to Surigao

The 2nd segment of Day 4 covers from Agas-Agas Bridge in Sogod, Leyte to Port of Benit in Southern Leyte covering around an Est. 90+Km within 100min drive time. Crossed Surigao Strait via Montenegro RoRo then drove another 9+Km to Parkway Hotel, AH26, Surigao City where we spent the night. ETA Port of Benit is 0930Hrs to catch the 1200Hrs ferry boat but unfortunately, the 1200hrs slot was fully booked so no alternative but to get the next available departure which is at 1600hrs. Spent the time parked under the trees shade on the road, got the ticket at 1330hrs when the ticket window opened, paid all the dues then parked the vehicle inside Benit Port grounds. Took some noodles & boiled eggs at the food kiosks at the right side of the port gate then waited for the 1600Hrs time slot.
Passed the Saddle Road in Pintuyan which is steep but short. AH26/ Maharlika Highway is up to Liloan going to Ferry Terminal then Eastern Nautical Highway onwards to San Ricardo.
ETD Port of Benit is almost 1800Hrs, RoRo travel is 1.5+hrs so reached Lipata Port at around 1830 hrs. Disembarked at estimated 1900hrs then driven the 9+Km to Parkway Hotel, AH26, Surigao City where we have spent the night.
The following towns were passed in southbound direction: Sogod, Libagon, Liloan, San Francisco, Pintuyan then finally San Ricardo all in the province of Southern Leyte.

This trip brings back many fond memories riding the bus from Pinut-Ann to Surigao to do some shopping & returning on the afternoon bus to Pinut-Ann I have done this trip many times. I hope to move there in a few years & do it all again, Thanks for posting the video, big salamat to you always travel safely
