- Dan is a huge fan of Captain America and with the American holiday Independence Day upon us it seemed only natural that Dan put together his list of the 10 Best Captain America action figures.
Hot Toys were excluded for obvious reasons but there are still plenty of Marvel Legends Captain Americas on there so don't you worry.

I had that 2002 Captain America. My granddad got it for me when I was around three or four years old. I had good memories with that figure. R.I.P. grandad.

Marvel Now Cap would be even greater with a better paint job. Hasbro was lazy in this case, no paint details.

I'm a bit surprised that the Toy Biz Marvel vs Capcom Captain America isnt on the list, but to each their own. I would have included it for a number of reasons, the first being its translation of the character from the game to a 3d action figure is spot on. Also its such a departure from all the other Captain America figures produced and really stands out on a toy shelf next to the rest of your collection.

Revoltech just released a version of Cap for their Amazing Yamaguchi line that is by far the best non-Hot Toys figure I have ever seen. Highly recommended.

I love the Strike Suit. The silver stylings on the front and shoulders, and the dark blue just do it for me.
Same here. I never thought I would be ok with any suit replacing the core red, white and blue look, but that Strike Suit is so sweet.
Maybe because it's so sleek and seems more realistic?
+Impulse Comix I waited a really long time to get it because I thought it was just a repaint of Winter Soldier's SHIELD Strike Suit Cap. Why are Megos ranked so high? They look more like dolls than action figures.
I tend to give them some weight for being the ONLY action figure game in town for so many years. They DOMINATED the action figure market for a solid 5 years. LIterally no other superhero options at the time.

Had to get a Mego Cap when I got the chance. Other than that, still have my childhood secret wars Cap and also that 1990 toybiz Cap.
This is one list I can completely agree with even if I were to come up with a slightly different list of my own later on. And I really need to find a Mego Cap for my collection so I can have him again. I wore my childhood one out back in the day and no longer have him.
The Diamond Select Avenging Cap is pretty cool. With the Hydra diorama. Although he is very cool I would have liked a Marvel Now style costume just so he would have worked better with the Select Avenging Hawkeye, Black Panther and Mighty Thor that came out around the same time . But he would still definitely have been on my list anyway.
My favourite Captain America came out in the nineties, and it was a twin pack with Morrigan from Darkstalkers. I still have him, and I love him. Like, I'm in love with him. Lol. The only other Cap I have is Wolf Cap.
Liked this list. I love my MN! Cap. But I’m likely going to get the next comic accurate Cap...as....I’m nostalgic that way.
Also, loved what you said about Zombie Col. America. Thought he did come with a extra head or cap with the birds in it......
My favorite one is the Battle damaged Cap from the Civil war three pack.

I don't understand why people hate the marvel now captain america figure,its better than other marvel legends captain America figures (except for ultimate captain America)

my number 1 cap is urs..watched it all to see where it landed it was ur number 1 too..my girlfriend laughed at me when i screamed for joy..but ilove not being the only one who loves that Cap above all others and he is my display Cap

This needs an update, the best is the MCU 10 Years 2 pack Captain America which comes with a spot on Chris Evens head sculpt & a Crossbones figure
The Marvel Legends C.A. is my favorite with the interchangeable hands and wolf head, though the paint is thin in spots it's still a decent figure.

I understand why Hot Toys/Sideshow Collectibles aren't eligible for these lists.
I do hope that you eventually make a Top 10 Hot Toys and Top 10 Sideshow Collectibles sixth scale lists.

+Autobot Ironhide It's a good one but my opinion can change with my photographic needs. Plus... Cap Wolf wasn't out when we made this list.
Cool list, as far as your comment about the "blue"' "paint stripped" shield that cap carries at the beginning of CA the Winter Soldier it bugged the crap out of me too, and after lots of searching I found some stills that show it close up, revealing that it wasn't repainted but covered in the blue plastic cling style wrap that new electronics/ appliances come in which is illustrated by seeing bits of it scratched ripped and pulled away revealing the red was underneath the whole time. Google it and feel joy as that little bit of annoyance slips away.
I get that it's supposed to be "stealth" but I still don't like it.

Great list! The only cap I have is the ML Series 1 Cap, I've had it ever since I was a kid and somehow didn't lose the shield! It's a pretty good figure, good enough for me to not really consider getting another ML Cap. I do agree with the stability though, those ankles and toes, UGH!

I know! It swivels and swivels, but really doesn't have much more range than that. For how early it is though, it's still a good figure that (semi) holds up to modern standards, though where you state there's "too much" articulation, you're totally right. Why do his toes have to move?
+Jcc2224 I am ALL SET with toe articulation. I don't have a single figure with toe articulation that I feel would be lacking in any way if that joint were to be left out. Even the FIguarts and Mafex stuff. Totally unnecessary. Just helps them be more unstable.
I know! One thing that bugs me is when there's a REALLY beefy figure (Arkham City Solomon Grundy comes to mind) and people get upset when the ankle articulation is just a hinge, or not even there. The figure would be to top heavy and fall on those joints all the time. I have a 12" Clone trooper figure with a lot of ankle movement (not a Sideshow), and the thing wants to topple over all the time. I prefer smart articulation over loaded articulation.
Marvel vs. Capcom Captain America figure was really good for the time (late '90s), better than some of the others in this list.
I have that figure in my personal collection and would agree that it was good for it's time. It very narrowly missed being on this list.

Cap Wolf Marvel Legends is my definitive Captain America figure.
lmao i had the secret wars cap since i was like 4, its hands are all chewed up because i was a dumb kid and when i found it at a thrift shop it didnt have the shield, probably still have it lying in a box somewhere, one of my oldest and favorite figures, used to carry it in my pocket in kindergarten
So if you were to update this list, where would Worthy Cap from Endgame fit?
what about the Captain America and Bucky twin pack I thought that Captain America was pretty good he had a menacing look on his face and Bucky action figure looks perfect .

You left out the TOY BIZ Marvel vs CAPCOM Captain America Which was the best Captain America figure in the 90's. And I loved the 1990 Captain America figure.

I had hoped to see the Toybiz Marvel Vs. Capcom version somewhere on the list. I wonder if it was close to the top ten. To me, that was the best 5" Cap, even if he looked like a Bishonen character.
It's a good figure, didn't have room in the top 10. Definitely would have made the Top 15 (at the time). Not sure where it would place if we redid this list today.

Old enough to remember how incredible it was to have those Secret Wars figures at all, so I share your affection for them. Don't agree on number 1 though, just not a fan of the Now! designs. But hey, that's why it's your list and not mine lol
***** It's one of those things where he's just held that spot in my Marvel Legends display despite all the other Caps that are in my collection. He's fought them all off and retained that title.
+Dan Larson have to agree, like the Marvel NOW Cap, but not sure I'd put him at number 1. I'm a purist to a point, and would prefer ML Classic Cap from the aforementioned Ultimates Cap repaint. And where's the love for the old Avengers line from 1998-1999? Hyper exaggerated details, but was the first (good) 6-inch Avengers. Cap had the small cheesy light-up shield...which they corrected with a rerelease with a proper scaled shield. And, it's the line that gave us the first Heroes Reborn Iron Man & first ever Loki! And where's the Figuarts love? Both it and by a FAR extent Figma are great representations of Cap.
+JunkionMarnot2005 Tough thing about doing lists is that I have to base it on my personal experience. While I DO have both of the Avengers ones you mentioned (neither made my personal list) I've never owned the Figma figures and couldn't just include them due to their articulation and price point. It's POSSIBLE that they would make the list... but without personally owning them I can't say for sure.

wow! did you say you didn't like the ml civil war captain? (even age of ultron fig which is same fig but different paint apps). the more I....(clear throat) play with it the more appreciative I become of its sculpt, articulation and movie accuracy....

In winter soldier cap had 2 shields his silver and blue one to go with his blue suit and the his original one that he had in is apartment when furry got shot. It wasn't one shield repainted so the real question is when did they get there hands on more metal to redo his shield
Do we ever actually see the two shields together?
Toy Galaxy never takes blue one home but has original behind his door in his apartment. I mean there could be a scene they cut out where he takes the blue shield to a paint shop then has it delivered to his apartment when it's done. Everyone points to caps shield as being one of a kind in marvel cinematic universe but did we not see Howard Stark's many different prototype versions in first avenger also prototype shields in iron Man 1 and 2. I choose to see different shields instead of different paint jobs. But for some reason marvel left such an obvious fact out of the movie.
By the way love your videos my childhood revisited but now with facts instead of Rose colored glasses

If anyone sees this and can recommend a 3 & 3/4 scale shield for my Secret Wars Captain America, I would appreciate it. I have a near mint loose collection but, like Dan in the video, I can’t stand looking at him with that stupid lenticular shield and am hoping someone could suggest any appropriately sized shield from any other figure that would fit and match the traditional paint color of the Secret Wars version.
