Podcastage Hahahaha, that is funny! Some back story on Carol... when I was freshly 18 I worked at Bath and Body Works... yep you read that right. I was slingin’ lotions like a boss. There was an older lady that worked there, Carol. She HATED me, she was always so rude. I mean, I probably deserved it, but I figured I’d let a little past frustrations out 😂
I'm glad you highlighted that Shure "popper stopper" windscreen. I find it's especially good, and worth the few extra bucks over the generic ones. You can tell the difference here, compared to your XM8500 review. Nice reviews here!
Thanks for this. Just ordered one. I'm trying to make a setup that reduces room noise as much as possible so I'm gonna see if this is better than a shotgun mic when both are up close.
Dang, I was just thinking "I'ma need to go back and forth between this and the XM8500 video to hear the differences" and then you announced you're gonna do a comparison video. Without comparing anything and just listening to this video, I'm really digging this mic, especially for $25. It's probably way better than the XM8500.
That is the thing, $25 makes me holla! I don't care if this mic is marginally worse, it's way less costly. This will be the new goto mic for heavy high gain guitar bands, because they like it harsh. But this mic is not very harsh, but even if it was... it's $25. We can go in circles, it always comes back to value.
some people are just too sensitive!!! the fact that he didn't mention the behringer name correctly is not enough to turn the video down and forget all the other good points he made about the product!!
Hitting 3K would be a fantastic Christmas gift! hahaha. That is a good question.... and this is going to sound lame as hell but I really want a dehumidify cabinet for gear haha. What about you? Any gift you are wanting?
GameRetro I am actually currently editing a comparison between these two, and quite frankly they are both great. The BA 85a isn’t necessarily an upgrade as much as just another option with a different polar pattern/sound.
@@AudioHotline Already subscribed and eagerly waiting with excitement to see the comparison. I already ordered a BA 85A from Amazon today, but hey - I watched both reviews and I think both are amazing value mics!
Good to use for amateurs save your expensive mics. Use the cheap mic that sounds good. Amateurs wouldn't know Shure or Behringer. How does the Behringer do in a shock test? If it's good, use the Behringer with most gigs. Save your good stuff for the pros.
needs|LITHIUM I really just don’t care about this whole pronunciation shit. literally a different person said he is glad I pronounce it right. I think it is pretty dumb we get so caught up in it.
Sensitivity to plosives is this mic's biggest downfall. I just can't figure out how Behringer let that pass...but oh well. Can't have everything for 25 bucks I guess. Like you, I used to hate on all things Behringer. The early Bugera amps were going up in flames right and left. But they have really brought their A game in recent years. That X32 digital mixer was a game changer which set the pro audio world on it's ear.
Los crompré los conecte en un parlante autoamplificado y los odié y los devolví sonaban horrible en comparación a un sm58 hasta los clon de aliexpress de sm58 suenan mejor
Everyone has their own voice, ears, and preferences. Audio is completely subjective. Personally, I don’t think you should support those fakes on aliexpress. It encourages more clones to be made and then passed off as real Shure products in the used market.
Glad I’m not the only mic reviewer with issues with an Arol names person. I have Cheryl. You have Carol.
Podcastage it’s her sister. They hate UA-camrs.

Audio Hotline yeah Cheryl submitted noise complaints on me. What a jerk. Wanting peace and quiet in her home...how dare she!!!!
@@Podcastage Wow... Cheryl sounds like a real tool!!!
I feel like it sounds better without the pop filter. What do you think? Or it's just my sh*ty earphones!
Just picked up one of these to replace my XM8500. Thanks for the review!

Muy buen video claro aun que este en inglés 👍🤩❤️😊

How about samson q7 vs ba 58a ?? Which better ??
Hard to beat that at $25! 👏👏👏
Subscribed! Very informative. Thank you.

Came here after watching the XM8500 comparison vid. Deffo prefer the 8500, this 85a has the midrange bump and lack of clarity that put me off Shure 58
Good behringer i like
You’re getting really close to 3K subscribers. Screw the B-roll, what’s the Christmas gift you’re wishing for?

Audio Hotline, I’m old as dirt. We tend to buy for grandkids, yeah I said grandkids. If I get a baseball cap, I’ll be satisfied.
Thanks, it was very helpful
It’s now $61.99 on Amazon!
WHAT???? 😮
Still think the XM8500 is a great deal especially if the BA 85a is not available locally.

This mic highs sounds like Shure SV100.
A+ for 25 usd ✌🤣
It's BEHR-in-Jer, not BEHR-Ing-er. Name is German.
They sell products ranging from knock-off/clones of other products, to high-end products.
needs|LITHIUM I really just don’t care about this whole pronunciation shit. literally a different person said he is glad I pronounce it right. I think it is pretty dumb we get so caught up in it.
@@AudioHotline I admit, it's not really the most important thing, tbh
It's behr-ing-er and he pronounced it right
It's Behringer in Germany.
Behrinjer in USA.
Thus, the correct pronunciation is Behringer.
It’s actually pronounced Beh Ring Er. Not beh ringe Er.
Sensitivity to plosives is this mic's biggest downfall. I just can't figure out how Behringer let that pass...but oh well. Can't have everything for 25 bucks I guess.

Which one is better than the other, Behringer SL85S or BA85A?
BA85A

Almost turned this video off the second I saw and heard the host. I did turn it off when he couldn’t say Behringer correctly.
There is an ongoing joke at the Behringer office, that even different employees pronounce it differently, but no one cares. So, hey guy, just relax.
