I really appreciate the work you guys put in for these episodes. I’ve been watching since Brian was asking Trent about the changes in the pipeline and how sowt changed to Sr (I was going for a Sr contract till it changed to swoe). I’m in development right now and hoping to pick up a contract for this June ship date. I’d be way behind if it wasn’t for all of you. Keep it up and I’ll keep earning each breath.
@@colbykoethe8643 9T500, right? And then you get vectored into a career field if you don't pick or aren't the right fit for one. I'm also going for SR.
@@justelynnnjoelle That all sounds right to me. I believe you enter as a 9T500, then during A&S they will help you make a choice as to what field to go for/ what you would be the best fit for. But I'm not sure if you switch to a 1Z after selection, or after completing the pipeline.
It’s mentioned a few times throughout about going into the “blind”. If you could elaborate and go into the subjects of nutrition, and how to take care of your body the proper way for the type of physicality one you face in the special warfare pipeline. That would help out a lot! Thanks ones ready team!
Request heard and we are looking at two different dietitians to come on and talk about nutrition while preparing for the pipeline and going through it.
Im starting my first semester of AFROTC this fall and just want to thank you for all the great information that y'all have provided in this channel. Has helped me LOADS. One question for you guys or anyone in the comments, is it possible to take Special Warfare training courses while in AFROTC?
I don't have first-hand experience with this but I know STO/CRO AS Phase 1 is done before you commission (generally summer before senior year but no earlier than summer before your junior year) and certain schools like Army Airborne can be done during summers as cadet professional development. Its gonna require a lot of work with your detachment cadre and they might trust you with those opportunities until you are an upperclassmen.
Can we please get some CROs on here and an in depth foot care section (how to keep feet dry, boots dry/how many pairs to have during the pipeline, what kind of socks work best)?
I know your guy’s platform is Air Force special warfare, but it would be cool if you guys could bring in other special op guys from different the branches Army, Marines, Navy and compare their journeys. Just a train of thought. Keep up the good work!
I know this channel is for special ops and becoming an operator but any chance on a SERE specialist interview/content? There’s next to nothing on the internet besides a few Instagram takeovers lol. Never the less you guys are absolutely killing it with the content keeping many people motivated and in the loop, this info is gold
Hey Jacob, we are working to get a SERE Specialist on the podcast, just working through all of our schedules right now. Thanks for the input and hopefully it will come soon!
Great episode. Could you guys upload a video of a "real" PAST test with a critique of the candidates from and not just a demonstration of perfect form? I hear and read of guys doing 100+ push ups and sit ups but have never seen a video where I have not been counting" zero, zero, zero..." because the form was so bad. I would just love to see the rhythm and the pace it takes to knock out that many reps in 2mins.
Hey, I just recently got my ASVAB score back and found out got an 57, but my general score is a 47, which is 2 points short of the requirement for TACP. Does this mean I have to retest? I want be a day one guy!
Can you do a video on the differences between AF Reserve and ANG? I've got my degree so I could go officer, but from watching the videos it seems like enlisted guys get to do all the hands on (fun) stuff.
That's correct. Our officers get minimal (2-4 years) of team time before they are put into more leadership positions. SOF is primarily an enlisted force.
@@OnesReady Is it common in SOF and overall for guys with degrees to enlist anyways? I don't know if you've touched on that topic on a previous podcast.
Before entering, be able to easily knock out a 6 mile run and a 10 mile ruck with 45 lbs. There is nothing written about that, just my personal opinion. (🍑)
@@nicholasgonzalez2048 For rucking, shoot for a 15 min mile pace or less. For running, no slower than an 8 min pace. If you can get to sub-7 min that would be fantastic.
Can anyone tell me how I can work on swimming without a pool. Not being able to work on my swimming is killing me and I feel like I'm falling behind on where I should be. To say it's a motivation killer is a bit of an understatement.
I was doing my usual Saturday evening run while listening to this episode....one thing made me stop and say "WTF?" Amanda stated when she was lost on her night land nav eval, she took out her DAGR...why in the world would they let students use a DAGR? I'm sure I'm missing something.
When you're doing navigation in the pipelines, you have to have some sort of GPS device in case you get lost and sometimes for evaluation purposes. Usually, it's secured in a bag that prevents use unless you "cut it out" of the bag, which is what she did when her time had expired.
Y'all would have a field day with Mike Jones. He's also an ALO and is the meme known as Garand Thumb.
Rock on!
“the meme”
Linus Wong he is TACPO, ALO is a “position”
1. He a SERE guy not ALO or TACP....
2. Garand Thumb is his UA-cam series were he educates people on tactical gear and weapon tactics....
ijdiaz1 He is a TACP now,
just recently retrained.

still shooting for Sr, but we all go in under an open contract now, and then “pick”/ get selected for Sr tacp pj cct

Keep up with these awesome videos! 🤙🏽 I love being able to see the different backgrounds and jobs within the Air Force/AFSOC.

Slowly getting, but surely getting scared of land nav 😟
Nah, you'll be fine. They'll train you and understand that we have all made mistakes during land nav.

What is the maximum distance both rucking and running should be be hitting before attending?

juan habic look up dry land swimming exercises. Also make sure you’ve got a resistance band/cords
find a local lake that's pretty busy and big, get a cheap neoprene wetsuit and go ham

There should be like a review before the intro to the next video that's like, "Last time on Ones Ready, 'shit bombs' and 'chick'." 😂

I dont think she understood what tacp was....
Real talk do ALO's see combat?
I want to know this as well
Do they get deployed? Yes, but it's the enlisted corps who make the shit happen.
She didn't even graduate
She's badass
Can we use chick? Yall soft
Waste of a slot that could have gone to a qualified Airman.
