I do a relaxer stretch i do not do protective styles. I go to dominican blowout shop weekly. I limit the heat. I relaxed after a 2 year break and no regrets. Oh my stylist did lighten my hair color. No breakage
There isn't one way to do things so I'm so glad you know what works for you! I've thought about going to the shop frequently but the prices turn me away:( Jealous!
Nice hair! I keep my hair braided most of the time and I’m relaxed. That keeps me from having to manipulate it. My hair works best when I leave it alone so I stick with what works.
8:58 a little tip if you are doing protective braids but don't want your hair to be dry when you remove them. Use blue magic hair grease to grease your scalp a little and add a small amount on your palms, rub it through together, and run it over your hair, massaging it in as you go. Obviously, you don't want to make it super greasy, but I guarantee you will have minimal dryness when you remove your braids.
Thanks for the tip! I do oil my scalp frequently when I have my braids in but I've never tried the grease for removal so I'll definitely try this next time, thanks for watching
@YudyCAM no problem! Just in case it wasn't clear in my comment, use the blue magic hair grease *before you braid your hair* . The grease will keep it moisturised as it stays in the braids for the few weeks, even when you shampoo your braids!
I too relax seldom, I do it two times a year. It works for me and I have no issue retaining length so far, this is the 3rd year. I do not do any protective styles but I also have more wavy hair so textures are barely an issue and I roller set during bi-weekly washes. Would I go a full year? If I had to but the two works really well for now.
I feel the same way - a full year to me is unecessary and I would love to get to a point where I can take care of my hair and wear it out all the tike without breakage/damage. There’s a few things I want to try incorporate to my hair routine, so maybe I’ll try roller setting too! Thanks so much for watching!
I'm sorry but something has to give since when does your hair grow substantially in between clips period? That's not a styling truck that's a this isn't my hair truck???

This was a really great video wow 1 year . Your hair turned out looking great 👍🏽 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you so much!🤎
Wow! I am considering stretching my relaxers out to only 3/4 times a year!! You have a great results to me
Thank you so much! Only thing I would say is start slow and see how your hair reacts to stretching.. and take it from there - best of luck!!

Thank you! That’s exactly what I do with my hair and just like you, it’s what has worked best for my hair over time. Thanks for watching❤️
A year of protective styling is my goal this year to retain max length
That’s so good! Just make sure you’re giving your hair the TLC it needs & I hope you see some positive changes!!
No literally, I took my braids out and I was pleased!

Your hair looks great! I always retain the most length when I stretch for long periods of time.
It’s difficult but it really does pay off! Thanks so much

It is way healthier for your hair stretching the relaxer for over 6 months than apply it every 8 weeks.
I completely agree! 8 weeks seems crazy to me now since I’ve been stretching for years. Thanks for watching!
