I just got to 33:00 and my god it's exactly the experience I had. I went to a local Madrasa and asked if I could learn arabic because I want to read the Qur'an with meaning. And the students including the Mufti in charge just saying there's no purpose to that because you won't understand what is written even if you know the meaning. I was honestly shocked when I heard that. How can you even begin to engage with the Qur'an if you don't know what the words mean...
That mufti is not a real mufti he doesn't have proper &, real knowledge

Brother Nouman is right about Imam Abu Hanifah (May Allaah is Pleased with him) being lied about. I have witnessed myself (in clips of videos I watched) of some individuals accusing the Imam of not having enough knowledge or they were lying about things they reported that he said, which are not true. I was offended by those fabricated lies about him. I am a Shafi'i (meaning I follow the Shafi'i jurisprudence) but I love and respect ALL of our Imams (May Allaah is Pleased with them & Have Mercy on them). Without our Islamic Scolars contributions both past and present, we would not be able to have access to our authentically preserved religion of Islam. Thank God for that. All Praise is to Almighty Allaah for gifting us with Islam.
Young gentlemen were good. My dad taught me, the purpose of khutbah, is to make the current affairs of whats happening in the world, the country you stay in, and what are the issues that are pertinent, ie, voting, wars, whats occuring elsewhere or home, that needs attention, so your khateeb has to have a wide variety of talks to address to the ummah, so they come out feeling empowerd also thinking of of new ideas. Was a good interview. He has good plans,, hope he accomplishes them.
Assalamualaikum Brothers. My exam is going on and I just found this video and it was hard for me to see the whole podcast but after watching believe me the whole time is worth it! I never saw any podcast as deep as it is. This deep podcast tells us how deep Al-Quran is! This whole podcast inspired me greatly to start my journey to understand my Deen. I pray and hope that you may create more videos like this one that will be beneficial for the ummah and you may get reward for it. I can't express how I am feeling right now after watching it. lastly what I can say is jazakallahu khairan! May Allah reward with Jannatul Ferdaous. Ameen.

Someone tell the ustad that not everyone is old enough to pay on bayyinah app. Please enable a feature for youngsters on the app🙏🏻🙏🏻 (that can't tell their parents that they are interested in learning Quran and still have access to good content)
Most of the content is available on UA-cam, I think a fair amount is on his yt channel @bayyinah
On their website you can apply for a free account. People donate to support others and if they have donations available they can let you use the account for free. Also, as the comment before mentioned, they actually have a load of proper course material on their youtube channel for free

Man what NAK is saying around 20:00-21:00 is exactly the problem we have here in NZ. Our Ulema come from South Africa, India, Pakistan etc. And they just regurgitate. Mashallah they have a lot of raw knowledge but they're not thinking, reflecting or applying anything ! The few that are, are looked down upon by the senior ulema...

Great podcast. JZK. However, I'm a little disappointed that you effectively 'shut' the Abu Hanifah' discussion down and felt a little awkward that NAK identified as an early Hanafi. This needed more discussion. Was there a reason for the hosts awkwardness around this topic?
I know it appears we shut the discussion out but there were other topics Ustadh wanted to discuss and we were on a tight schedule with him.
