  • Last week we completed our series “Fear factor vs faith factor,” and this week, we’ll be starting a new series, titled, “Hazardous additives.” Unlike “Fear factor vs. faith factor,” in which we drew on Scriptures scattered throughout the Bible to deal topically with a variety of fears, “Hazardous additives,” will be confined to one book, letter, or epistle, namely, Galatians. That doesn’t mean that we won’t pull in verses from outside of Galatians, but that our time together on a Sunday morning will focus primarily on the truths it contains. Why study Galatians? I’m not going to give you the typical trite response which states that it’s in the Bible, therefore, it’s both relevant and valuable, even though that would be true, instead I'm going to give you three compelling reasons:
    1. Galatians teaches us to build our lives on a right understanding of the gospel
    2. Galatians confronts our compulsion to compare ourselves to others
    3. Galatians teaches us the significance of our identity in Christ
In our first week, we'll deal with the whole 1st chapter, which we'll see concerns the following:
    1. Paul's greeting (vv. 1-5)
    2. Paul's grief (vv. 6-10)
    3. Paul's gospel call (vv. 13-24)
We'd love to have you come and worship and fellowship with us as we sing together , share in communion, and study God's Word, but if you can't be with us in person please do join us online at 8am on UA-cam.
