- Henry and Gordon both get into an arguement about the trains they usually pull. Henry wants to prove that Gordon isn't the only one who can successfully pull the express. Meanwhile, Gordon doesn't think pulling trucks is all that hard either. But some engines just aren't meant to do certain things, and certain consequences come with that.

Black Fives are mixed traffic engines, not goods exclusive engines. They can pull long distance passenger trains with no major issues. Henry shouldn't have had as much trouble with the Express as shown here, especially since he pulled it before with no trouble.

You also got the Lions wrong cause Henry can also pull express trains since he’s a mixed traffic
It’s mainly because the Stanier Black 5s are capable of hauling freight and passenger trains and Gresley A1s and A3s are capable of hauling express trains
Feels like that story was being combined from Henry Gets the Express and Gordon Takes a Tumble.

Btw technically Henry isn't a heavy goods Engine, he's a mix traffic engine like James that was rebuilt into a gresley/stanier hybrid to manage heavier loads (basically becoming stronger than James's basis).

Henry is in fact a mixed traffic engine like Edward and James. Henry can handle the express with ease and pull it just as well as Gordon

Tbh, considering that Henry is a Stanier Black 5, realistically speaking, I don’t think that he would have much if any problems with pulling the Express, considering that he’s a mixed-traffic engine, albeit a big strong one.
You’re actually right about that, it did say in the railway series that he pulls the express whenever Gordon is ill or away, James and Bear also help.

what a stupid concept for an episode, that ending where the narrator says Henry wished he would never have to pull passengers ever again, but yet we see him pulling passenger trains in other episodes.
