  • It's been awhile, Darkness. I didn’t miss you. It's time for you to leave.
I'm back in mild depression. I call it "hypodepression" to compare to it's counterpoint, hypomania. I talk about its cause (it's situational per usual for me), my symptoms, and what I'm doing to get better.

"...hard to care" is an bang-on phrase!
I can hear your struggle in your breathing.
    Hope you are well soon!

I have bipolar I am 66 years old. It started at the age of 27. I will tell you after I had gone through menopause I never get depress. I think it has alot to do with hormones. I work 28 years corporate work . Raise a daughter. You will get through it. The one thing I do is walk everyday and read my bible. You should talk to your doctor about the dizziness. I also take zoloft. It works wonders take care.❤

I hope I have that same effect from menopause! My psychiatrist diagnosed me with disembarkment syndrome so he’s involved. The dizziness is slowly resolving. 🙌🏼

Thank you for speaking to this. I second the motion to include “hypodepression” as an actual medical term. It’s real. It’s valid and has impact in our lives. Appreciate you so much. Sending love and hope that it and the disembarkment depart from your life assap (as soon and safe as possible) ❤

I’m going to ask my psychiatrist if “hypodepression” or another term is used in their circles. If not, why not?
I think I’m now mostly if not all the way better from D-squared (depression and disembarkment). ❤️❤️❤️

I’m all for talking about symptoms when they’re happening, so heck yes to just sitting down and talking about it! I do hope it gets better soon though. Even if it’s milder than full blown, still its not fun to have. Stay strong, you got this 💪

I get the dizziness rocking on a boat feeling too. I went to a cardiologist who specializes in autonomic dysfunction and he said that feeling is called pre-syncope (syncope is a fancy term for fainting). After some testing he said my blood pressure drops when I stand up. It causes flat affect too. He said I’m not getting proper blood flow to my brain. He said I also have small fiber neuropathy I get tingling in my hands and feet and sometimes my whole body. It’s especially bad in my head. That started after I had covid pretty bad in Nov 2020 and was sick and bedbound for 4 months… My psychiatrist says it’s all “psychosomatic” and told me my cardiologist’s field is “controversial”. I don’t know what to believe. 🤷‍♀️ I did physical therapy twice for the neuropathy and dizziness and that helped a lot. I have bipolar 1 with psychotic features too. Chronic illness sucks…

Sorry to hear that. Did you get the boat rocking after traveling or anytime you stand? My psychiatrist diagnosed me with disembarkment syndrome.

I am just starting to go to a Chiropractor who understands the upper cervical instability issues that so many people have, but are not aware of.... it causes Sooo many dysfunction and can disrupt hormones, brain activity, emotions..... You are Brave & Kind to share your Journey😊

It literally sounds like exhaustion. You're energy depleted for some reason.. hence the body's urge for food... Could it be that the brain is more active than usual and eats up most of your energy sometimes..? I apologise if i talk crap, i'm only trying to figure out.. 🙈

I’m not exhausted, just empty. It’s depression. I know it well at this point lol.
