What is Shortness of Breath? Shortness of breath is a symptom of patients that have pulmonary problems. Congested heart failure, asthma, emphysema, lung cancer. Consult your physician, and tell them your other symptoms.

Since the big man's video doesn't deliver, shortness of breath can mean struggling for breath or gasping for air which is what it sounds like, however merely the sensation of feeling like its more effort to breathe or that you are not able to breath in as much can also be shortness of breath. I'm concerned that even in times like these the medical profession still use ambiguous language, like how many people have Googled "what is a continuous cough" and "what is shortness of breath" in the last few weeks simply because both are open to interpretation yet the medical profession have established definitions for them that they bizarrely seem to want to keep to themselves.

I don´t know if I have dyspnea, but I can´t breathe. And no one knows why. Cardiology results - OK, spirometry, rentgen and blood results - OK. I have lot of allergies, but I take my meds and inhale twice a day Seretide. No help. I can´t breathe for three months. Often I feel nauseous and dizzy from lack of oxygen and staircase are impossible. Any move is impossible. I have problems even with slow walking. But doctors didn´t find any pathology. I don´t know, what to do. I can´t do anything. Every day, all day, I can´t breathe. I don´t have attack of dyspnea, I have these problems all day. I feel very, very weak.

So I've been second winded and short of breath for the last 2 years. I've been tasted for athsma and COPD, both negative. Lung XRAY clean. What more could it be? It all started rather swiftly when I moved from Hawaii to Utah. Could bad air quality have anything to do with it? Stress? Anxiety?
I have no idea mines started yesterday all because I was sick it feels like I can't breathe well when I lay down
I believe mine is due to stress and bad air quality. Right now living in Utah and the air quality is worse than Los Angeles. Hope you get better. I just take it day by day.

Please check with yout GP if it is related to anxiety or panic disorder, which is a very typical issue of hyperventilation if your other controls were all fine in terms of heart, lung etc..
