Usually, in Texas, after the button announces you that the walk sign is on to cross 3 times, it will stop talking. If that happens, in the clearance phase, it will not count down. Usually, to make it countdown, you will have to press the button again before the clearance phase.
That had a lot more crossing time than usual in TX. I usually barely make it across before the countdown is finished, and then it's like even though there's still minutes left in the green phase of the light you have to wait for another car to trigger the light and activate the crossing phase.
