This has been out for a year and there are only 15 comments? Yeah, this information needs to explode into mainstream conversation!

'And some trans men' - it's not just adults who experience menopause. In some countries, there are trans-identifying teenage girls who experience menopause after being given cross-sex hormones, before they're mature enough to understand the consequences of their 'treatment', or how might feel about it in the future. That some consider this 'controversial' to acknowledge shows how messed up our society is.

The irony is that as women go through menopause… men as well, undergo stark changes as well, which are very difficult. There’s just no name for it, except it it has become labeled, “he’s having a mid-life crisis” but there’s much to uncover there as discussions and conversations will reveal when it’s touched upon in the future. 💝

All this is so unnecessary and crazy. We are spending most of our lives talking about "I can't do this because of my period. I'm not feeling well because of my period. These amount of days after the last day of my period are the perfect time to get pregnant" and then talking about menopause is like a crime. I'm about to turn 50 and peri menopausal and I was shocked few days a go as a friend of mine that is fee years older than me, cut me short and went red as soon as I start taking about the matter. I was like WTH? So if that is between us women, what can we expect from men?

when we live in a culture that fears aging, no one is going to talk about menopause. It's okay to age. And, it's okay for us to acknowledge that our bodies change in unexpected ways beyond just gray/white hair, wrinkles, and hot flashes. We can experience changes in energy levels, brain fog, hormones, insulin resistance, metabolic system, and more. If we ignore/hide all this, nothing will improve for us women. Normalize discussions around menopause; it's been around as long as women have been aging. Denial/taboo of the subject is just plain silly.

We are only beginning to uncover what our mothers and grandmothers and great grandmothers endured! Incredible…

Another symptom of all the sudden "Hey, the menopause exists" publicity (though welcome in many ways) is how it is now being weaponised by certain men already, particularly outside a marriage/relationship, I'm thinking more in the workplace. It is now in the realm of Mensplaining... I've heard comments about a female manager where the narrative has become, "I'll ignore her complaining about my laziness/attitude, she's Menopausal" whenever the manager complains about their work. That could become really undermining for women who are not even suffering from those symptoms. I myself never felt anger as a symptom, it isn't universal.
