A 60 minute (black and white) commemorative video of the Rhondda and its people commissioned by Rhondda Borough Council in 1994. A product to mark the 100 years of the Borough .

60s Rhondda was a wonderful place. Pits were being closed by Harold Wilson but full employment in countless factories like TC Jones, Treorchy-alas gone now following closure by Tony Benn. I wonder when Starmer will take the knee for our workers and call for reparations?

Her name was Susannah Wilkes and in 1926 she was 13 and had to go to London for work in domestic help to send back money for food while the coal strike was on. We all sailed to Australia in 1955.

That is only one of the plethora of mistakes made in these videos. They would be amusing if they were not so irritating. Imagine someone who is deaf trying to make sense of these tapes!!!! Not mention the fact that the tapes spoil the videos in the first place as they obscure the picture. But l understand they are a necessity for those who can't hear.It's
These are mostly auto generated, hence 'Romba' people instead of 'Rhondda' people. The system is not recognising the word 'colliery' from the speaker's voice.
