I'll give Jolly a pass on that. I think of any trade before the start of the season as in the prior year's offseason. Even though, technically, everything after the World Series is the next year's preseason.
14:40 Golden Thong Connoisseur didn’t win in 2001. Only reason I know that is because my favorite player Ichiro won that year (tbf Giambi that year led the AL in bWar with 9.2 vs Ichiro’s 7.7)
I was so confused that no one mentioned it, so for a second I thought that maybe he was just a free agent signing that they presented to the media at the same time as Mookie.
@@drewdahms5836 lmao, on one of the Baseball Price is Right videos one of the questions is about David Price and Jake or Jack literally says “it was the David Price is Right.”
Who wants to see Jake vs. Ryan MLB Golf? Jolly asks a player stat question: How many career home runs did Mike Hampton hit? (16) Jake says 21 and Ryan says 13. Jake is at 5 for being off by 5, Ryan is at 3 for being off by 3. Lowest score after 18 questions wins. The scores would likely end up way higher than golf numbers, as someone could reasonably be off by 50 or so on a "How many career home runs did Moises Alou hit?" type question.. and that'd be like shooting a 50 on a golf hole, which is preposterous.. but the concept of "lowest score wins/golf style" still holds up whether it's 72 vs. 66 or 198 vs. 180. You'd have a virtually endless amount of questions -- career, single season, pitchers, hitters, everything -- including random silly ones like "How many career steals did Mo Vaughn have?".. it'd be easy for the viewers to play along.. and it would likely stay competitive down to the wire. It can sometimes be a bummer with these videos when Person A is winning by 6 questions and there's only 5 questions left to go, and that couldn't happen with a golf format. You can shoot 17 really good holes and still blow it with a quadruple bogey on 18. And if you really wanted to take it to the next level.. you could poll 10 people in the office (off camera) on the same 18 questions, take the average of their answers on each one, and develop a par score for the round. If the average office answer to the Mike Hampton HR (16) question was 22, then that question is a Par 6. Jake and Ryan would have both been under par on that one with a 5 and a 3. They're competing against each other, competing against par, the audience is playing along and being rivited by the back and forth suspense.. that really is an A+ video concept, imo. I'm giving you that one for free. Don't waste it or I'm charging for the next one.
Personally I think Joaquin Arias should've been included alongside Soriano for it to count. Rangers could've had Robby Cano instead of Arias so that would've been fun.
12:51 This was funny cause a few days before this was uploaded, Crawford retired. This made him no longer an “active MLB player”. I know it was probably recorded before but it was funny.
Price is Right style makes for a more competetive game when you have a big difference in skill level. You can have the ball-knowers pushing themselves harder and the wild cards playing spoiler.
Either closest to the pin, or if you stick with price is right, you have one guy reveal, next guy can then give/change his answer based on that, and then last guy gives his answer and can play real price is right games like going one point over or the lowest number, etc. (and first person rotates each question). Having price is right when you don't know the other answers before you guess makes it lose a bunch of the magic.
I’m definitely pro price is right, I think it ultimately produces better guesses and feels better than just trying to throw a dot on a specific number. I do think you can augment the form to prevent extreme low hedging, something like if the over is within 25% and the other under guesses are outside of 33% (arbitrary percentages) the over can still win. Something that would give Jake the KRod saves guess.
These were my guesses Arraez: .316 - Would've won Johan: .351 - Wouldn't have won Soto: .410 - Wouldn't have won Maddux: 355 - Would've won Beltran: 436 - Wouldn't have won Lincecum: Also had 10.1 - Wouldn't have Salvy: .770 - Wouldn't have won K-Rod: 432 - Would've won Arenado: 11 - Wouldn't have won Bochy: 2,061 - Would've won Section 2: Arendo gold glove streak: Hayes - Correct Cole Brother in law: Crawford: - Correct CC didn't play for: Expos - Correct Baby Pudge didn't play for: Reds - Correct Degrom wins in CY season: 9 - Incorrect Non MVP 1B: Teixeira - Correct Have won their division: Royals - Correct The ROY is named after: Jackie - Correct Most pitching Ks 2020s: Cease -Incorrect Most hitting K's 2020s: Suarez - Correct Third Section: Wong,Dugy,Downs for:Betts,Price-Correct A-Rod for: Soriano - Correct Fielder for: Kinsler - Correct Glasnow,Meadows,Baz for:Archer-Correct Kopech, Montana for: Sale - Correct Fried, Peterson,Smith for: Upton - Correct Musgrove, Moran for: Cole - Correct Sanchez, Alfaro for: Realmuto - Correct Cruz for: Ryan - Correct Manaea - Billy Butler? - Incorrect Final score: 22/30
Closest to the pin!!! I don't think it would be fair if a situation popped up where someone gets a point for being 50 under compared to another person being 1 over
I understand it being called Battle Royale due to the variety of game types used, but I feel like if you're going to conjure thoughts of Battle Royale, you need more than two types. (Also, that name makes me think there are ways to LOSE points, or be taken out by other contestants?). Regardless, I enjoyed myself as per usual.
I guess I’m in the minority here but I’d rather go back to the original rules where going over costs you a point and being right on gives you two (should maybe be like five instead). I appreciate the strategy of trying to be close but never over. Also I think “just guess this number and whoever’s closest wins” isn’t that compelling of a video. Even the “1¢ rule” sort of bugged me when they did that. But I’ll watch regardless so don’t mind me.
Do closest pin. Closest guess gets 2 points, 2nd best gets 1 point, and furthest guess gets 0 points. Being able to get 2 points on a guess should make it very competitive if you got ball-knowers
Battle Royales are when you start with a certain amount of players that get eliminated throughout until there's only 1 remaining. I'm not sure how this is that.
If Price is Right style is going to continue, it needs to be turn-based and out loud, rotating who gets to answer first. That way the last person has a chance to guess $1
definitely do closest to the pin going forward, price is right punishes you for trying to get it spot on
Agreed unless you get a bonus for correct answers and bigger bonuses on harder questions like era hr rbis smaller bonus on gold gloves or mvps
That’s the fun
Disagree. It's always price is right rules
Dont know if you'll see this but we switched to closest to the pin in the third episode
@@JollyOlive it’s turrible
Closest to the pin is just superior. Let's pull it out and put in on the table
I will just point out that DeGrom’s win total is the lowest for a starter, but Eric Gagne won it in 2003 with 2 wins
and the only cy young with a losing record (2-3)
Every video with Ryan makes life better.
man zoe and jack are just so funny. love when they make it into videos
Love the trade history trivia, right up my alley
Zo's excitement at getting that one right at 23:19 is so great
Ryan is a machine
I just forgot about the Archer and Cole trades. Thanks for reminding me Jolly, I didn't hate being a Pirates fan enough as it is
The names/points were kinda blocking the white boards, but fun video! I like all these guys
21:55 bro Zo is so humble it’s hilarious
Ryan is right at 22:54 it was a Feb 2019 trade
I'll give Jolly a pass on that. I think of any trade before the start of the season as in the prior year's offseason. Even though, technically, everything after the World Series is the next year's preseason.
The #1 thing I have learned in my time as a casual baseball fan who watches Jomboy for content: Chris Sale came from the white sox
Trade history was fun but definitely some easy trades to guess.
I like this format, closest to the pin doesn't punish you but the extra challenge of not going over makes it exciting IMO
Jolly puts Zo in these just to promote J Olive videos, prove me wrong!

You had the wrong year for the Fielder Kinsler trade. Fielder was traded from Milwaukee to Detroit in 2012 and from Detroit to Texas in 2014
Ryan had an edge on the first question as a veteran of the price is right
Loved it. Like the Price is Right style better than closest to the pin. Adds another layer to it.
I can not believe they forgot David Price was in the mookie trade my goat
I was so confused that no one mentioned it, so for a second I thought that maybe he was just a free agent signing that they presented to the media at the same time as Mookie.
@ I mean the puns are right there too price is right David price
@@drewdahms5836 lmao, on one of the Baseball Price is Right videos one of the questions is about David Price and Jake or Jack literally says “it was the David Price is Right.”
This is the best series ever keep it up please🎉
closest to the pin is better. it involves more knowledge

Today I learned I know exactly how many homeruns Carlos Beltran hit in his career, and I have no idea why I know it.
I like price is right version
Hands down my favorite trio now with jolly as the host 😂 too good
I still have a Ben Zobrist Oakland A's jersey in my closet. I was so, so happy to have him on my team.
8:15 Jake... 😂😂😂
What did he say?

Fun fact: Carlos Beltran was born in my birthday and I was born in easter
Put Ryan against BBD and Max Mantis in this game please

You spread light in a world of darkness.
Holy glaze 😭🙏🏻
True it's raining😢
i have been on such a 311 kick recently i love the cameo
Ichiro had ten straight gold gloves starting as a rookie, before Nolan did
I think you keep price is right but add bonus points for being right on or if it's like a really big number being super close to the pin
I prefer closest to the pin for the numerical questions, for sure
think i prefer closer to the pin but this was fun too
Keep the current price is right rules, but give extra points for getting it spot on as an incentive to be risky
Ichiro started his career with 10 gold gloves in a row
Damn it Jolly, do your job! Fielder wasn't traded until 2013.
Zo with the demon eyes popping out every now and then 😈
9:52 - I also might be too high here.
Woah woah woah David price was also in the mookie trade
imo stick with the Price is Right format instead of closest to the pin. Adds an element of risk/reward
David Price was in the Mookie deal??!
Ryan dropping the Pie.
The Fielder-Kinsler trade happened after the 2013 season
ryan is a dawg
This episode is Giants coded as hell
Closest to the on 30 of that style
Zo’s lack of ball knowledge is baffling
No lie, got Salvy OPS exactly right
Closest to the pin. price is right rules only works if you don't all answer at the same time.
Need to go closest to the pin or make getting it within a very close amount is worth 2
