I own, and have gifted several Fenix PD35 flash lights, all are doing fine. I bought 3 E30Rs to keep in each vehicle. I expect excellent service from then as well.
Richard Shipp I’ve bought 3 e18rs, 1 e30r and 1 hm61r which all use the same magnetic charging cable. Did you know that you can run the lights without a battery inserted directly from a power bank? I lit up my house using this function during a 18hr power cut.
I bought this flashlight over 1yr ago based on this review. More than happy and the light is still functioning as I bought it. It's used at work and has been dropped and banged hundreds of times. Submerged in oil and water no problem. The battery did stop working after it was dropped particularly hard one day. Replaced it with Panasonic NCR18650B which still allow the battery indicator to work. Some of the black finish has come off but that's trivial for me when this has lasted 3x longer, ongoing, than any other light I have bought at same price.
Another great review👍 Fenix also makes an LD30 which is very similar but instead of magnetic charging the battery itself is rechargeable. For that difference you get an on/off tactical tail switch as well as the side switch for mode selection. It also has memory so it will turn back on in the brightness mode you left it in. Oh and it has Strobe and SOS as well.
Love my E30R and carry it every day, the only thing that annoys me is the head-up clip - i'm sure that's led to more scratches on the lens on mine. Surely it would be easy to include a recess on the tail end of the body so you can reverse the clip and have it head-down. I own several 18650 torches and this one is the most compact of them all. Such a great torch.
Really like the simple UI. I don't need all that sos/beacon crap. I would buy it for sure but it's a bit pricey. Thanks for the heads up on a great flashlight. I truly enjoy and learn a lot from your vids. I love your gear type choices for review. Thanks for remaining agenda free. Blessings in all good things.
You can buy 1 Fenix or12 EBay flashlghts . Put your money into good batteries such as HIXON, PANASONIC, or SANYO. The battery you choose is as important to performance in an LED as the flashlight itself. Not all 14500 and 18650 batteries are created equal. EBay flashlights may not have all the bells and whistles of a Fenix or other elite light, but their light itself is just as good. For small size and light weight, choose a14500 LED. For long runtime choose a compact 18650 LED light.
18650 batteries are only 5/8" longer than a 14500 and they designed this flashlight to fix around an 18650 battery like a condom. it's slightly thicker but as small as most 14500 flashlights. 3 7/8" long and 1" thick not counting the pocket clip
I really like the idea of a rechargeable battery flashlight. Would be nice though to have an extra rechargeable battery to use as a backup if needed. Great review.
Hello Luke, thank you for sharing, I could use a new flashlight,, I always enjoy your reviews, have a awesome weekend, take care and God bless you and your Family. 🇺🇸🔥☕️🇺🇸👼🏻👼🏻
I got the LD30 for the pocket and the PD36 TAC (3k lumens) for duty, both are longer and in my opinion much better than the E30 and also have memory and momentary on, which is very convenient for my use. The E30R could be good for camping but... always starting on mode low without memory? It's a deal breaker for me.
Just saw this review after owning. my. E30R since about the time this video first aired. No problems here either. As you mentioned, I just keep the clip in front of the charging point, and I've never had to hunt for the On switch....I don't have a single complaint with it. Great Battery life, Supreme Brightness, nice beam pattern that give sufficient spill... I don't notice the heat, but I don't touch the head of it. I just bought a Baton III, just so I'd have something 1/2 the size. Two different Lights for sure, not sure if I will keep the Olight. I'm happy with it, but compared to the E30, it's kind of disappointing, LOL
I'll just pretend I can go and buy an $80 EDC flashlight. I've been dreaming about a Kelty late start 1 for 3 months working extra hours still Out Of Reach. I'm not trying to ask for this flashlight because (I wouldn't accept it for free no way)! I just love the reviews because I wish I could do this stuff. Parallel universes one is real and one isn't
Hey Luke. Great review. While I like the Magnetic Port on this model, I didn’t want to yet bring another cable to load electronics. Just got myself the Fenix UC35 - 1000 Lumens, Micro Usb Port (behind old tech rubber cover, which works) and a 800h moonlight setting which is great for reading etc. The button is also only the settings button so it does allow memory of the last setting. The main power button is at the tail end. I like this model. Check it out.
I bought the pd36r and it shorted on me. I turned off a household light switch with it in my and and the static electricity was pretty strong. I didn’t expect it to short the light.
Its very close to what I'm looking for. But..., a bit expensive... What if its placed in the netting in the tent while the light is on ? Will it burn a hole in the tent? Starting on Eco mode is perfect for me, but its difficult to use with gloves is not great.
Good points made....your CONS....no memory?? "Almost a deal break" omission for me. Does Fexis have a light similar but WITH a lumens memory ablity?? Minor annoyane having to always step up the lumens if you prefer a certain amount of lumens e.g. 250...but 30 is actually enough for most "everyday use"....
Are there flashlights with similar quality and features for less? I bought the h2r nova from olight for 130, so quite expensive, but it is sooo good its just worth the money imho.
@@johngalt6929 I agree that its expensive, but when I compared it to other flashlights it had waaay better quality and more/better features. Thats why Im wondering, are there similar flashlights for considerably less money?

Great review. I think torch manufactures should quit with these super high outputs. 850lumens max is fine. The fact that this torch has no memory is probably a safety feature cos of the highest output
Maybe it's just me or maybe it's darker over there where you are but I can't see the benefit of having a light that can shine brighter than the sun for a few seconds
I just wish they would make a flashlight with 2 modes. Eco for lighting the tent and such all night, and high for more light. I rarely find the need for a medium setting and nobody needs a strobe.
Would be nice to have a C charging port on the battery and not ports on the light....also if you lose the charging cable you are screwed.....proprietary cables need to go.....
I own a fenix PD32 flashlight and I would like to tell all not to buy the flashlight… they have issues with the switch that turns the light on and off… it is very fragile and mine will not work. I had to get a new switch and now the second switch is broke with the same issue … I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND !!!!

I would suspect that that could be a huge difference in how it will act in water. mainly just concerned about the magnetic charg connection being eaten away. Loving the charger cable as opposed to a usb micro socket with a not so clever rubber cover ! Great review.
Thank you , this is what I'm looking for .
I always want a flashlight with long runtimes in 30-40lm for candle mode and 150-200lm for normal use .

Love the hands free a lot, too

If they make a USB-C version.. I'll buy it!
1 min 30 sec on turbo. Well the warrior mini goes for 4min but I guess it’s preference

Driving through Marion today and thought I saw you in the new truck. Turns out there's a twin in your neck of the woods.
Is the lens glass material? Or is it scratch resistant?
Are there red or blue lenses available? I love to use a red lens sometimes to preserve night vision.

I wish they'd add red or green as a nite vision option !!
