As a German I can confirm, that "Uranus" has no obvious meaning. Although the medical term anus isn't really used in primary school, so most of the Small boys don't even know, that "anus" is something you could giggle about.
@@marcosteiner3619 You are correct of course, just trying to make a humorous remark. And for the record i am Swedish, and it would translate roughly as "ancient ass"
A mission to either Neptune/Uranus or both would be very interesting in the broader exploration of our solar system, and they're in their own class of planets. We've only had Voyager 2.
They leave Neptune and Uranus alone because they don’t want the public to see them for what they are, water worlds. You can literally see the ice cap 1:00 . It’s dimmer because more water and less ice appeared in the frame.
We were lucky we could explore Urananus when we were. They over-engineered the spacecraft to go beyond the original mission and we were fortunate the planets aligned as that will not again for more than 100 years.
This is amazingly interesting. I'd be absolutely shocked by this, except that we still suspect that even Pluto may still contain a liquid ocean due to its intense gravitational dance with Charon, and its relatively new looking surface layer.
Come on, Uranus is really a funny name! I always thought Uranus's Anomalies were not strange, in fact I always thought it was a rather boring planet! In fact watching this video I fell asleep!
Sunlight would have some effect on chemicals in atmosphere, as would heat and cold. What effects would rotation of planet have on this - enhancing various reactions on molecular and atomic levels. And any other levels that could be affected.
this may be a dumb question, but what would happen if a space ship or voyager was to go straight up or straight down to search rather than traveling more outward on the horizontal axis of space??
Making the assumption, that you mean the ecliptic plane, since there is no up/down/horizontal without reference to a local gravity. If you were to go vertical to the ecliptic lane you wouldn't run into much besides solar wind and a very very very rare body {like Oumuamua }. It's probably better to explore places that we know have a lot of things to look at first. HTH.
That would require way more deltaV than even what the new horizons and voyager 1&2 would require just to escape the solar system at that inclination. Due to the inclination change
Play the game Kerbal Space Program, and you'll soon learn how much energy it takes to go "straight up" out of the ecliptic instead of following the existing motion of the planets. We don't have any spacecraft that can do that, yet. Maybe not for decades or longer... What would happen is that you're traveling away from anything worth seeing quite quickly.
It looks like the odds for life in the universe may be rising with the new information about water worlds and moons looking more prevalent. If the solar system's moons get explored after we're gone new discoveries inside our star system could uncover new information that would help explain other unseen solar systems intracacies.
The more I watch your channel, the more I feel like we are all just fish in a river trying to map out our little mating and feeding areas, all while not having a single clue when it comes to water. Even if we figured out water, and that it flows, would we ever be able to map out the river we're inside of? The lakes it feeds, the oceans that link everything together. The planet? The universe is so large. Science seems to consistently fail at even realizing everything is connected and affecting everything else.
"Science" is a process of discovery, not a person. Over time, it doesn't "fail to realize" anything that can be proven with facts. However, it doesn't go for "woo-woo" spirituality bullshit, which hates facts. Back to school.
From the very predominant white hue in those pictures, are we to presume they have bleached Uranus? Hey, Anton started it. I'm usually really anal around Uranus jokes. It's ok to call one of our celestial neighbours 'Uranus,' but my name suggestion a few years ago, for a newly discovered star was laughed out of the room! 'Rusty bullet hole' I thought was perfect for a brown dwarf.
Not again! 😩 The guys at work will never let me live this down!
Your intro killed me man. That is exactly how I feel about most Uranus jokes.
annoying how Uranus is always the butt of the joke
I've always found it hilarious that educated and intelligent people making and consuming content about complex science still can't resist bum jokes.
Though many of us are much older, part of everyone is still age 7.
ladies ! if a guy is willing to give you the moon and the stars the least you can do is give him Uranus.
I’ve always wondered why we didn’t go more in depth in exploration of Uranus.
🙄😆
Need to deeply probe Uranus..
Same
Most of what came out of this exploration is crap
They couldn't find the entrance
Uranus is known to have some unusual outgassing.
They have changed the name of Uranus:
It is now Urectum.
agree
The sad tale of Uranus : from glorious planet to the butt of the joke 🤣🤣🤣
Im sorry, Fry, but astronomers renamed Uranus in 2620 to end that stupid joke once and for all

You had me feeling really old there when you said approx. 50 years for voyager 2. Launched in 77. I had to check to make sure. 86 was at Uranus
Uranus never ceases to amaze.
10/10 title
I read the title. Sat silent for about 10 seconds. The laughed loudly alone in my car. Well played
I always love a good story on Urectum.
Am so sorry everybody... I didn't realise myanus was being researched in such detail
It seems to rotate differently.😅
The amount of grown adults that laugh at this title - well you can all be my friend because that is hilarious.
And grow up! 😂

Anton dropping peak as usual. Thank you. I watch you daily, I recommend you to all my friends that show interest in watching science
Why is it best to stand against a wall when you visit NASA?
They love exploring Uranus.
Uranus is massive btw.
I have a strapon for uranus (for those without the planet)

I'm beginning to wonder if there any icy moons which are currently NOT believed to have a massive world-girdling ocean hiding under the surface?

this may be a dumb question, but what would happen if a space ship or voyager was to go straight up or straight down to search rather than traveling more outward on the horizontal axis of space??
Nothing really. It will be in a perpendicular orbit around the Sun to the rest of the solar system, and rather useless

The cooling on Uranus can be explained by the fact its inhabitants have successfully switched to electric vehicles and green (or blue!) energy...
