I love my 2016 FXDSB. It’s got a Screaming Eagle race tuner in it, air cleaner kit and a Two Brothers header. I’ve owned more Harleys than I can count, since a 69 Sportster in 1970, and this one of the most fun bikes I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned 2 Indians, a Triumph and a several BMWs. I have black 12” T-bars on mine. It’s very comfortable. I have Progressive shocks. I have mid controls, because I like to keep my legs under me when I’m in the curves. I don’t drag any metal in the curves either, because the shocks hold up. I’m 6’1” and 280 lbs. I highly recommend this bike. Oh, it’s a 4.7 gallon tank.
I bought a 16 street Bob this spring and I love it.. i also have taller narrower apes on mine.. really comfortable bike to put 200/300 miles on in a day pretty easy..
+Tattooed Alex Thanks Alex. I love the style of the 48. I wish they made it bigger. That and the 883 iron. I think you will enjoy the upgrade. One thing I recommend is pay the extra 750 for ABS. This is my first bike without and I will never own another without ABS. I've locked up the rear a couple times. I remember my training pretty well so it never got dangerous, but makes me uneasy. Stopping distance is also much better with ABS
Bearded Cruiser thanks for the advice on the ABS. My Forty Eight doesn't have it and it took a little bit to get used to it since the bike I had before the Forty Eight did.
i got a 2013 dyna sb with the 103. love it, ut damnn it hurts me body lol. back, ass, groin. Definatly needs new shocks and bars. Already did a seat but that didnt help the back strain
Very detailed review. I bought a 2012 Super Glide a few years back, just cause it's what I could afford, but I fell in love with Dynas due to their handling. I'm 6 foot with 205 so I added forward controls and it feels nearly perfect... except for the handlebars. Anyway, any idea what's the tallest you could go on bars for the SB before you have resort to cutting and splicing wire harness? Thanks
+JC Galiano you can go to a 12" or 14" without wires I believe. If you go bigger no cutting or splicing needed. They sell plug and play extensions. Thanks for the comment!
Bearded Cruiser hi I just noticed you said they have some that are plug and play without requiring cutting soldering??? Which company does that?! That would save my A$$ on this project!
Nice bike man...I have a 15 sb in Denim black and 20k miles on it. I know what you mean about the fuel. I have ridden 50 mi after light comes on and put a little over 4 gal of gas. It holds 4.7. My light usually comes on in the 150-160 range. Like the bars I'm thinking of doing either 12or 14" myself. Ride Safe!
Dude, me too on my 15 SB! Never a full tank for me too. Further, when I thought I had near zero miles left, and it said low range I was freaking out that I would run out of gas any second. Right when i pulled to a gas station it jumped to mid 30's in the range read out. Again, it's 4.7 gallon tank, but it only ever takes 3.5 or thereabouts. I'm sure you have about 40 miles when you're on "empty." Dunno how I like that.
That is a definitely a weak spot from my perspective. Honestly it kind of pisses me off that Harley knows they have this issue, hasn't corrected it, and is still producing the same design. When you pay top price, you expect top quality.
I always wondered what canceled the turn signals. Figured it was time or distance related. Hard to believe it's like a car , in that they shut off after a physical turn of the bars. Really?
It’s lean angle and return that triggers them on a bike. You’ll notice that on turns that aren’t as sharp, they won’t cancel and you have to do it manually.
+Fly Fishing hey Fly. Thanks for the comment. I am running 12" chiseled apes Harley branded. You can use stock cables and they run around 270 I believe

I enjoyed your review, it was very informative. I currently have a Forty Eight and I am looking to upgrade to a Street Bob in the next few months.

It would be a good move.
Nice bike and good initial review. I ride one and totally agree on the fuel tank comment. Ride safe...
Jesus Irazabal Thanks man. I appreciate the feedback

Harley’s always charge another 2k, keep same lame ass suspension. Price goes up with little improvement. Still love the feel though.

+JC Galiano You can get the extension from the Harley dealer. There are probably some aftermarket versions too.

Mike Williams thx man. I love the denim black color. I wish they made the Olive Gold in a denim. The fuel guage thing is a piss poor design.

Jeffrey Nye It disengages when your car/bike straightens back out.

I've heard that suspension upgrades for the Bob is a game changer. Have you done anything yet with the suspension?
Nope... sold her, and the next one. I’m on an Indian now and in love... going to start making videos again soon.
So ur mpg is around 40?
Hello does any one know what kind of bars he is running on the bike thanks .
+Fly Fishing hey Fly. Thanks for the comment. I am running 12" chiseled apes Harley branded. You can use stock cables and they run around 270 I believe
Bearded Cruiser would you happen to know if those bars would fit on a 08 Super Glide without the wire extensions?
What kind of bars u running & how tall.
+Shawn Pullen These are the Harley chiseled apes 12" I am 6'2" probably could have went 14 bit these are really comfortable
I have a 2014 street bob. I wanted to know when u changed the bars did the original cables fit or u had to replace it with longer cables.
Because if u didn't have to change the cables then its simple switch but changing longer bars with longer cables it gets pretty pricey.
360p? Really!
Nice 👍🏼
