I would’ve loved for his character to make maybe 4 more appearances across the show where they have a competition for snatching the better clients and it culminates to a final episode with the 3 of them needing to team up together to beat out Staples in a lucrative deal 😂😂

My guess would be (since the audience is not privy to what Jim meant there) that our guys D&J have several scenarios or plans that they created and named in the past ... about what will be going down in the meeting they're heading into. I may be wrong but that's what came to mind. Either that or handkerchief and horsefly are specific "roles" they sometimes played while doing sales--- one being the person who makes the call and gets placed on hold via speakerphone. I'm sure someone else here will chime in with the correct answer, though.

Incredible that Pete is such an uninteresting, nothing character that comes as a package deal with who I believe to be the most underrated character on the show
He has the same Mallard on his desk from the "wire tap," episode when Dwight tried listening in on Jim's conversation by putting a walkie underneath the Mallard, then the pen mic.
I haven't even watched anything post-Michael except the Finale, but EVERYTHING in here is like a '90s sitcom without the laugh track. Or much in the way of laughs, period. The exaggerated "young" picture of Jim & Dwight. The mugging and overacting. Robert California being excessively weird. It's just...ugh. The guy from the Syracuse branch acting like he escaped from the set of The Sopranos. The realistic '00s mockumentary is just completely gone and replaced by caricatures and living cartoon characters.
I just realized what jim and dwight had to have done was essentially create a fictional employee. How the accounting department, with their small number of personnel, didn’t realize that was insane 😂. That’s a classic way of how get two paychecks. 😂😂😂
