Bro I just got it for the switch and the developers should fire themselves for their “tutorial” And hire you for this undertaking! You really made the game playable man I appreciate it!
Totally agree. I went through the tutorial (mostly because it bugged out at one point and it was impossible to continue) and it was not very helpful. I learned more in the first few minutes of his first video than the entire built in one.

Downloaded the game a month ago (cause it went free), since then was looking for a video guide. I gotta say I never saw much detailed and easy video tutorial than this. You really deserve recognition by the devs. Well done and thank you for your effort.
This series is so good. You explain everything so well, with just enough information for the listener to be able to play the game without bogging them down with unnecessary details. Excellent, Quill. Thanks :)
@@rheiagreenland4714 Yeah, but it's still a military unit, and if she likes B I G militaries so much, it would make her think more of you if she met you with a proper military unit, rather than some lowly scout with a cane.
Big respect my man. I have been muddling around with the Switch tutorial for a week or so not really sure what half of the stuff does. This is AMAZING and very viewable. Nintendo should pay you.
My girlfriend just bought this game for me on Steam. $40.00 with a crap ton of expansion packs. It's been awhile since I played Civilization V so your tutorials are a huge help! Thank you very much for taking the time to make these videos. I have UA-cam Premium so I can't watch the ads or I would...again, thanks for your hard work 👍
Mate, your videos are amazing. I just got this on Switch and had absolutely no idea what to do or why I wasn’t progressing. Your tutorials have helped me out massively. Big love from the U.K.
Best tutorial series ever made for any game period. Not sure if you read the comments but you need to know that your awesome and you obviously don't get enough credit. You should be a household name for the go to on gaming tutorial video. 100 out of 10 above and beyond amazing.
Just got a PS5 and bought PS4 Civ 6. Haven't played since the late 90's on my pc. Forgot everything and your series is making this all come back plus learn more. Just have to convert some of your instructions for the PS5 instead of PC. THANKS!
I have to say: This is incredible good tutorial for Civ 6. I've never played this game (I do watching your videos). But finally I'm getting to understand what is all about. Thanks Quill for this Tutorial!
Recently picked this up as my first Civ game on the Switch. This knocks the ingame tutorial out of the park, I feel like I actually understand what's going on for the most part. I'll probably pick it up for PC when it goes on sale so that I can play with the mouse controls, but either way, this is an insanely helpful tutorial
One thing you've done exceptionally well man is take the nuances of the game and explain them in a pragmatic way. Kudos to you for making this guide and doing it with efficiency. Cheers mate.
Just tried this game for the first time when I found it in the Playstation store.TBH I was lost, thankfully your here. Much love on all the dedication and user friendly tutorial. Subscribed and will be watching video#4 next.
Wow. I've played every Civ version but have been away since early Civ 5. Decided to listen to updates. These beginner lessons are fantastic. Great job.
Hey quill, I believe the "chopping a (rain)forest" solely refers to the action where you get food/production. I have checked, if you build an improvement you are no longer able to remove a (rain)forest, thus it is destroyed, not removed. The difference is you get resources if you remove it. So, if you are willing to spend the turn and the build point, it's a good idea to remove the (rain)forest first, then build the improvement so you get the resources too.
You may already know this, and I'm sorry but this is a public post as well so.. You don't actually destroy the feature of the tile when you improve a bonus/strategic resource. It just looks like it, but you'll see that when you hover over an improved resource with a feature, it still has that feature. Pause at 24:42 when quill hovers over the tile and you'll see it still has rainforest.
Your tutorial is highly detailed man! I highly appreciate it. I played previous Civilizations before, but I never fully understood what was going on, I just tend to randomly do what was available without weighing various options because the game's tutorial sucks ass. Surprisingly, I still managed to stay afloat during the duration of the game lol. Thanks for the wonderful tutorial, man! Will continue watching the rest.
I appreciate these videos. Just bought my first game two days ago. It’s soooo vast and extremely hard to learn. Excited for when I’ve watched enough of these videos to be competent.
So I don't know if you should take this as a criticism or as a compliment. But here it is. I'm three episodes into the series and I'm loving every second of it. But I still have no idea what the winning conditions are for this game.
I don't know if you're still playing or if you already know, but for the sake of new players who also look at comments with the same question, the victory conditions are: Score, Domination, Science, Culture, and Religion.
hey quill notice that the rainforest is still there ... it's not that unlike civ5 the rainforest gets choped even if you don't have the tech it's that unlike civ 5 the building can exist with the rainforest (consider that for district adjacency you wont lose it just because you want to improve the tile)
I am just at the point where Cleopatra gets cranky and I gotta say you are high level entertaining and funny all throughout your tutorial for civ6. Thanks a lot to make this easily overwhelming topic fun😁
My brain is itching for learning all these many information at once.. guess I need to play a little bit more alone to get used to the game before proceeding next video.
I had this game before covid , and just started playing it yesterday, which is rite after game 2 of the world series. Dodgers won that. So any way thanks for your videos. Very helpful, I really loved civilization revolution on ps3. And still love it.

What am I doing wrong later in the game? Like how often should I make a new settler and city? Cus it seems like I have 2 or 3 cities and everyone else has dozens and they’re sweeping me

Thought I’d do better today. I didn’t. Thank you so much for these videos. Very very helpful.
I don't understand how harvesting resources work. I mean if I choose not to build an improvement over it, what happens? For example if I harvest something and i get +20 production, how does that affect my city? I see no changes to my city's production.
I see your comment is only from a month ago, and since I'm lurking: When you harvest you get a flat one time increase. If you build an improvement you will get an increase of your per turn production
I think that diamond mine might actually still be a rainforest tile, even if it doesn't look like it on the map. At the very least, that's what the tooltip said, but it's possible it's bugged. I suppose the only real way to make sure would be if you try to build a campus on the tile to the right of it, just above the wheat and see if it got the adjacency bonus for two rainforest tiles. *pre-post edit* I see someone sorta mentioned this below, but I'll post it anyway, not that it likely matters either way.

I've learned more in these three episodes than I have in the entire tutorial.
