Such a great concept and socially responsible too. I don't know how you continue to come up with such consistently good content for your channel but I'm here for it. It's so nice to see collabs by UA-camrs who clearly genuinely like each other and love being in each other's company without trying to upstage one another. Us viewers/subscribers appreciate you both! Greetings from London where we're having a heatwave (I don't know if that's good news or bad news yet).
You need to do this once every season, because this was enormous fun. It’s easy to buy something once you have thought of what to do, but this way, you really need to be on your toes, and for this challenge you absolutely nailed it. From three items I wouldn’t give house room to. To three beautiful items I would pay good money to own. 💐💐💐💐💐💐

Three things:
EDIT: sorry you were right, its a griffin, but I 100% stand by my other comments and would swap in this as my first point instead:
1) this video would NOT really work if he just...kept the items the same? I would think if he kept that painting on it he would get a ton of comments saying “why on earth did you leave that on there”...
1) to me it looks more like a Welsh dragon, so no need for your sci-fi fantasy nerd heart to lament
2) I can guarantee that even if you preferred the other one, it was a VERY niche look that most wouldnt like and would agree what he did to it improved it tenfold
3) I can bet my life savings that this was a cheap piece even brand new and he didnt ruin any kind of ‘antique’ lolllllll
@@partlyironic the point of my comment was I'm a nerd and I like nerdy dragons and griffons and such on my decor when I can swing it (antique or not doesn't matter). If I can go buy it at Target like everyone else (or DIY it to make it look like something Karen would put in her "live, laugh, love" livingroom), it's not the decor for me. It gave me a sad to see him blatantly cover it instead of try to incorporate the design into his style (light and airy, ethereal bohemian griffon perhaps?).
I would also like to see him work with a completely different style and incorporate things beyond bohemian modern chic and stretch his talents and creativity to their max. He does EXCELLENT work, but it's usually predicable and the easy route for a DIY flip.Which frankly makes it something viewers could tackle at home, so it makes sense if you are trying to inspire others to "try this at home." I'd like to see an episode where he does something that we probably can't replicate to see what he is truly capable of.

Love the whole concept of this video. Who wouldn't want to open their door and find treasures waiting to be transformed? I think this is a trend that needs to start right now. I'll be happy to share my address😁. I loved what you both did and it was so much fun to watch.

Omg the dart board could have more hooks on the inside of the left door an hang your keys or your sunglasses in there, you could hang that peace by your door and get all you need right before you walk out, love it!!

They are very lightweight as mentioned in the vid, it would stumble if stacked like steps with the bulb on top. And also, stacking them like what Drew did is maybe his style, maybe he is not a fan of crazy shapes or stuff that would take so much space

@@JeddieMPB I was just referencing the griffon as a fantasy creature that made me really love the detail of the painting. I'm an amateur medieval history nerd, too, so it really brings the vibe of old coats of arms and things that are common among both real world history and classic high fantasy. It's not a creature that shows up in the lighter, more modern or shabby/chic ethereal style that he tends toward. A lot of his stuff is not at all something I would want to have, but his personality is golden and techniques for DIY can be used in any palate or motif, so I really love watching his videos and learning new tips and tricks. I just wish now and then he would make something outside his comfort zone in a completely different style to see him really push himself.

That dartboard cabinet came out really well. But i am kind of sad that the whole vintage look with that old school bird symbol has been DEMOLISHED :-(
But yes... it looks great. PS: Some things look awesome the way they actually are... like the vintage look of the cabinet/dartboard box.

Love the video! A little tip to find the middle on those wooden blocks: you can also draw the diagonals and then they should also intersect in the middle! I always do this 'cause I don't trust myself enough hahah
I loved that jewelry cabinet however I think it would also look great as an entryway cabinet of some sort to hide your keys, sunglasses and letters specially with that mirror in to check yourself before you go out the door. Amazing work I loved every piece!

I wish you would have ironed the fabric before you put it in the frame..
Same. When he says "pull it taut so there's no creases" I said to my cat: "Also IRON it so there's no creases". LOL But he will probably have a lot of things pinned there and the crease won't show. The original white linen he was about to use was even more wrinkled and I was actually cringing thinking he wasn't going to iron it or steam it. Thankfully he didn't use it.
I love all these projects, but especially the jewellery cabinet.

Hi, love your creativity with your diys, they all came out amazing. I too love to create unique pieces by upcycling. I have the same dart board cabinet. I love to sew, so I designed the inside of mine to hold spools of thread. I cut down yard sticks and was able to create multiple shelves. The width is perfect, just needed to trim down the length of the yard sticks. I love it. For inside the doors on one side I padded to use as a pin cushion and for the other side hooks similar to yours for scissors. That was brilliant how you did the outside of yours, love the rattan. The bendy finishing you used would also be perfect to put under the little yard stick shelves for extra support. Just thought I'd share that in case you want to add a shelf or two to yours. Would love to see more of these swap videos! Or how about giving each other 3 items from your unused stash of things you bought to DIY flip but got stuck on, instead of buying something new? Keeps you safe from having to go in to a store, you don’t need to spend more money, clear up some closet space, AND see a fun transformation that you didn’t think up yourself!
