In the summer of 2005, I worked in Yellowstone National Park as a Wrangler at Roosevelt Lodge. About half way through the summer, one of the girls I worked with had been drinking and got super upset. She got in her car and took off. She never showed up to where she was going, so a search was launched. Her car was found a couple miles from the lodge. She had run off the road at a bridge and into the river. Her body has never been found.
@@dustinfrey3067was about to comment to ask about the date. It seems that anglers found a human skull upstream from the town of Gardiner, Montana and in 2008 dna tests confirmed it was Candace.
@wannabesleuthinsomethin Where did you read that? I've tried to keep up with the story, and I've only found that nothing has been found. I am super interested in reading what you've found.
Speaking of attorneys involved with missing-person cases, I have always wanted a show like yours to do a deeper dive into that District Attorney from State College, Pennsylvania who disappeared. His car was found by the side of a river, and his electronics were disassembled. He never was seen again. He WAS involved with the Joe Paterno pedophile case, but a lot of people don't think that those two are related - as there were years in between the two instances, and just getting rid of one District Attorney would not have stopped that case from proceeding. The most leading theory is actually the mob. Yes. The mob. In central rural Pennsylvania.
There were periods in the Army I was eating 9000 cal / day and still lost 14 lbs in a few weeks…. Under extreme conditions the body needs way more energy than most people could imagine
Yeah I was doing some fairly minor hiking expeditions compared to this expedition (Brecon Beacons, approx 20k/day, 15kg pack) and needed 4500 calories/day and I would've been in a similar age group (17-18 years old female).
I live in Iowa. Mountain lions and bears have been seen here for at least 40 years. Until enough ring cameras and trail cameras caught them, the DNR would swear there were none, or that it was a bobcat or house cat (?!?). Now they're down to "just passing through". We frequently hear them screaming during breeding season. I honestly believe that they don't want people being alarmed about camping and fishing, and the loss of revenue.
I do really subscribe to the 'cat' theory on this one, when I was watching the LL video and when they were describing everything - I came to the conclusion it was a mountain lion. I think I wrote a full theory which covers everything about how the scene presented, on that video.
Missed this live because I was watching Joe's video, but lol "[The black guy sneaking in to date the white girl] went to jail for getting shot‽" "It /was/ the '70s." Edit: 1:00:00 Pravda (literal translation: "truth") has always been anything but, think the Russian equivalent of the New York Post.
In the 1970s (which I lived through), the country people usually drank. Drugs were for those with disposable income. Heroin is a possibility, gentlemen, but never forget cocaine in the '70s and '80s for those who could afford it.
Sheathing a knife after a wound... as apposed to what? Setting it somewhere random and stepping on it later? Running to a tree with the knife while wounded to put it in the tree risking falling on it for further injury? Story - when was 7 I had a bad cut from whittling incorrectly, and before going for help, I folded my knife back up, myself!! I didn't know what else to do with it that wouldn't get me hurt, re-sheathing was the simplest instinctive safety solution even at 7.
Wouldn’t explain the lack of blood but if he did wipe the knife off before sheathing that would make sense especially if he didn’t want to ruin the sheath with blood
I get that makes sense and you showed great presence of mind but that scenario is very different from arterial spurting and why wasn't there blood on the knife roll?
There's that little thing called muscle memory - sheathing a knife you often use is a habitual thing, you don't think about doing it, you just do it. That said, I don't subscribe to the idea of it being a shaving accident.
@@kl6960 I could see him having a moment of shock and muscle memory taking over to put away the blade and then he, while freaking out, realizes anything he could try is hopeless and lays down? Odd, but not entirely impossible.
1:59: That Mesa Verde SAR was bad - they weren't interested in doing it right. I believe that is the one where a hiker mentioned hearing calls for help but the rangers decided it wasn't worth exploring. The whole thing was bad SAR and I think they knew it and wanted to get the story out of the media ASAP so they didn't have to deal with the fact that they blew it royally. I've been to Mesa Verde and wanted to hike but I had just recovered from a major illness and when we saw the trails, we decided it probably wasn't a good idea for me to try them. I got better later in the trip but we avoided difficult trails nonetheless. When people like us who are not trained in SAR or law enforcement and can spot all of their mistakes and suggest better practices, you know the "officials" are either incompetent, lazy, or covering something up.
Also. If you want Soviet mountaineer conspiracy all right, look into Shataeva group accident. Would be really cool to have someone who is not dumb, not a hardcore conspiracy theorist, not a hardcor misoginist, and not her husband's friend to look into it
I don't know what you mean. I haven't seen any dumb and/or misogynistic conspiracy theories about this incident. The only survivor (I think she separated from a group early on) whose name was also Elmira, wrote that they were provided with bad gear and nobody alerted them about the incoming storm. The first part is 100% true, and the second part might or might not be true, because Shataeva seems like a person that might ignore the danger to achieve her goals, which was to set a record or something like that. So nothing really interesting; no mystery here, just a pure tragedy.
Russian transmission towers were often powered by mini reactors. They were often left to the elements and often had to be removed by hazmat teams when they fell into disrepair. There are so many stories of unwitting hikers finding exposed fuel rods and using the magic stick to warm up. They camped right on top of an exposed fuel rod and the secrecy was imposed on the only survivor for the same reason sub mariners were left to expire when the US navy offered help.
Furl rods don't cause the kind of damage to the people that happened. And radiation damage happens well after your hit with the radiation. It's not an instantaneous things like you see on Syfy.
On the possibility of Jordan Grider having been killed by a human assailant, the North shore of Superior is one of Minnesota's most touristy areas. Even though it's wilderness there are TONS of foreigners and people from other parts of the US that go there every year as well as a lot of native Minnesotans. Honestly, if he was relatively close to a town (I think he was neat Eli (pronounced Ee-Lee) which is one of the biggest towns in that area) there would actually be a very, very large pool of potential suspects. Eli has the International Wolf Research Center, which attracts a lot of tourists.
The best theory I actually saw on one of their videos was that he fell and hit his head. This explains the big amount of blood- anything on the scalp bleeds a lot, and apparently it’s common for people with head trauma to get drowsy and confused. So he would have lied down and tried to sleep it off and ended up passing away. Imo this is by far the easiest explanation.
I mean we do still have the odd serial killer running around and they’re more likely to keep getting away with it in rural areas without cameras on every corner.
I have two high content wolf dogs, they can open boxes to pull stuff out without disturbing the box in any other way. They can push open cabinet doors, move things around, dig through their blankets to find food/treats without ripping anything. But they can also bit through a tree limb the size of my arm with no trouble, and have killed and ate a duck, we found nothing but a couple of feathers. Don’t underestimate the level of clever a wolf can be
Probably irrelevant info. I got bitten by a wolf (at a wolf experience) it bit my shoulder and the pain was really intense, I thought I was going to need stitches, there was going to be a tonne of blood etc. I look down and nothing, not even a bruise, skin wasn't even red. The staff also said (beforehand 😂) that they know exactly how to bite to cause max pain with no physical damage. Fun times 😅!
I love how Aiden always has a rational explanation for everything. “ they probably just didn’t want people to go there because it’s dangerous “. And btw I am 55 and found nothing offensive about recounting of Paula’s (?) disappearance but laughed out loud at the perfume comment. That’s the only thing incorrect. We are firmly in two camps on that. Some like me wear perfume even to throw the trash out , and others who think perfume is for ‘special’ occasions only. Question: did anyone suspect her friends ?
I was insulted by it because he made it sound like women of that time doused themselves in it. He made it sound almost like a old lady thing. That was insulting. He also kept harping on that she wore jewelry. She had on a watch that had a couple diamonds on it and rings. That's not exactly dripping with diamond earrings and ruby necklaces. A lot of us wear bracelets that we never take off cuz it's just easier. And the watch might have been one given to her by her husband and it was special or was her only watch. And married women usually wear rings.
I mentioned you guys on Joe Scott's video! It was really interesting having started to listen to you guys and the Joe making a video on the 411 cases. Both of you guys are favorite channels that discuss this type of content. Hope to buy the Lore Lodge coffee soon!!
My 85lb dog can take the wrapping off candy canes before eating them and can open pea pods to eat just the peas out with little to no damage to the pod. I think a wolf could get him out of the tent and sleeping bag without ripping it.
Y'know - even if this isn't true it raises a very valid point, being that we're relying on a lot of assumptions about wildlife without ever having tested or found examples of the behavior in questions. Animals can surprise us - we should really look into examples of these kinds of attacks - with somone obscured in a tent or other flexible structure - to see how exactly they played out.
I'm with you ! Our large border collie could unwrap chocolates and leave the wrapper intact. Also neatly steal cookies out of a cookie tub without pulling out or damaging the inner plastic bag. Don't think the shaving thing stands up, can't ignore to he sheathed knives lack of blood on knife roll and why he would be shaving in his hammock. But if you accept some unknown assailant killed him then definitely TV think wolves could have taken it from there.
That's because your dog is probably imitating you. The wolf wouldn't have any reason to sneak him out of the bag. It's much easier just to rip the bag open. A wolf is not a dog. People keep thinking that but they are very different species and act very differently
RE: Dennis Martin When it comes to the photos where no weapons are visible, if they were going to be hunting wild men (not that I think that was the case) isn't it realistic to think that maybe they had a weapons cache drop at some point, maybe at night or whatever? It wouldn't be hard to coordinate those with weapons being nowhere near cameras, while those with weapons hunted wild men, would it? Again, I don't think that was what was happening regardless, but I feel like it's not as implausible as it was being implied as it was
Maybe but you would expect the ex green bridage to mention that then if they were there at the time. Eitherway I agree, it isn’t impossible for weapons to get in especially to defend against wild animals but it is hard to believe that dennis got snatched by someone
@@victory8928 I'd agree with that whole heartedly. And I guess that depends on what kind of like... NDA the military would have had them sign or something similar yeah? That doesn't seem like it would be too far off from their kind of OPSEC
2:07:22 WTC Building 7 has the unfortunate circumstance of being collateral damage. Meaning that all of the damage that caused the collapse *was on the dangerous side,* where burning debris was likely to fall on you from the damaged twin towers. Not many people carried cameras, and even fewer would dare to go there to film. I have only ever seen one piece of footage taken from that side of Building 7, and *if you see that video there is no mystery* as to why that building collapsed. The falling debris *took out about 40% of that building.* The entire other side, the one that nobody could see from the outside, was gone. Just a giant burning hole. The rest of the building then caved into that hole. That's why there's so much speculation about that building. Almost none of the people speculating have seen that side of the building and how damaged it was.
Not that the damage helped anything, and I agree that if people had seen the damage there might have been fewer conspiracy theories, but NIST found that damage from building 1 wasn’t all that much of a factor in the collapse. The lack of water to fight the fire was the big issue. It just burned all day, floor beams expanded, things buckled and it came down. Well There’s Your Problem has a good video about it.
I watched a video of a german architect names Ansgar Schneider (likely on the conspiracists side) who analyzed a lot of footage and he talked about WTC7. What buffles him, was the fact that the building was regarding to the footage he had seen that the building is collapsing seemingly in free fall (you would expect if upper parts breaking down, they are slowed down by the parts of the building further down. Even when the building totally collapses it wouldn't do it, like it is shown on the footage. But if there was already a big crater on the other side of the building where the stuff can fall into, it would explain why everything can come down in an instant with no resistance from the structure.
You on a mountain? Assume mountain lions. I live on a plateau. Couple years ago I was getting gas at 4am. It is dark. It is cold. I start hearing a baby cry. “Who would be out here with a baby-, that’s a mountain lion.”
About Montana during the winter; I live in Williston, ND which is right on the border and we regularly get down to -30 to -40 air temp during January and February, with wind chill we can get down to -70 with the wind storms we tend to get here in the winter. Montana gets about the same, and they get a hell of a lot more snow than we do and I'd assume Wyoming is similar. I've never been to Pennsylvania but I've lived in Michigan and there's a lot more snow over there but not nearly as cold by any means. You really can't underestimate the winters out here, there are times where exposed skin will get frostbitten in less than 5 minutes and it's not uncommon at all.
I think what you guys forget or don't take into account for Dennis's disappearance and possible paths he took is....he was Six years old. Not many six year olds make responsible, rational decisions in their normal daily lives at home...much less out in the woods...alone.
I was into Paulides until he brought up hikers (including Julian Sans) that went missing in the Mt Baldy area as being high strangeness during one of our worst winters in years and authorities begging people to stay out of the area until the weather got better. Then he made fun of the fact that it is unlikely coyotes would eat them. Well, there are black bears and cougars in those areas. The fact of the matter is, the people who went missing and/or died in the Mt Baldy area were people who were willfully unprepared for hiking in that area - no crampons, ice axes, and often didn't have other necessary clothing or equipment. The Mt Baldy area have highly unpredictable winds and other weather, the snow slightly melts in the day and refreezes overnight into a slippery icy/snow mess that is extremely difficult to walk on, hikers easily get lost when there's no snow on the ground, devil's backbone is dangerous with and without snow, and the list goes on. SAR won't risk their personnel for stupid people who didn't listen to their warnings. The winds often prevent areal searches. And again, this area is regularly a bad idea to hike in the winter but the winter we're talking about was the worst that So-Cal had in years. Even the San Bernardino Mountains (Running Springs and Big Bear) were snowed in for weeks when usually they are just snowed in for a few days most winters if at all for that matter. There's nothing mysterious about these deaths and disappearances - arrogance and bad weather caused them.
If Jordan had cut himself badly, he might have thrown the knife or razor in pain or frustration. His tent was open. None of the knives IN his tent had blood on them, but by the time they searched the area it was next spring so an entire season of falling leaves, and a winter of snow... it would be tricky to find. They could have easily missed it. Alternately he could have cut himself OUTSIDE the tent, pressed a shirt or bandana hard against his neck and gone into the tent to tend to it. He might have even passed out temporarily, then come to and tried to stumble towards his car.
58:30 I don't think starvation is out of the question. I sit at a desk for a living, I'm categorized as "sedentary" while exercising only a couple hours per week. Right now I'm actually in the process of losing weight and I'm eating 2400 calories a day to loose lb/week. I track my calories, that's how I know. On the days I do house work, building/fixing things and going up and down stairs and ladders all day so nothing comparable to climbing a mountain, I eat closer to 3300 calories. Sure one day of hiking and under eating you wouldn't notice, but hiking for a week on 2400 calories is a starvation diet. They would need closer to 4-5 thousand calories/day depending on the weather, body weight and gear weight.
A lot of that definitely depends on the person and what your metabolism is accustomed to. For me, 2400 a day would cause me to gain a pound a week. If I want to actually lose weight, even with exercise included, I’ve gotta drop to like 1500.
Yeah, when hiking in the Brecon Beacons (no where near as intense as these Russian mountains) as a teenager, we carried 4500 calories/day, and were hiking around 20km/day, carrying around a 15kg pack (probably a bit lighter than these guys had, as we likely had more lightweight tents/bags etc as this was early 2000s), 2400 calories is nothing! The average man needs about 2500 on a normal day let alone a mountainous expedition! NHS recommendation is men aged 19-30 need 2,400-3,000 calories per day (on a normal day, not for hiking) and women age 19-25 years, the recommended intake for females is between 2,000-2,400 calories a day (from the American dietary guidelines). Again this is for a normal day, not for extreme exercise - this was a relative starvation.
1:11:42 It would take shave with a very sharp knife, in a particularly rare and dangerous way, to accidentally slip/be startled into cutting your neck enough to "nick" your artery. And it would do more than "nick" the artery, it would sever it, leading to way more blood loss than was found(about as much as had wolves gotten him). Any other way of holding the knife, even if the knife was relatively sharp would only shave off some of the skin on the neck/face at worst, not going deep enough to "nick" his artery. It also wouldn't result in blood splatter. It wouldn't lead to fatal blood loss, might not even lead to lightheadedness depending on the person. However, it could produce the amount of blood found, especially if he was placing rough fabric against the wound thinking it would stop the bleeding, and then pulling the fabric away to check if the bleeding had stopped. Specifically the cooling and clotting blood would stick to the fabric and every time he pulled the fabric away it would cause it to start bleeding again. Eventually it would stop(it be quicker if you let it air dry, but it also stings a lot more). I doubt he died from blood loss, but it is possible that the smell of blood attracted predators and he wandered off before become prey. Or the wound got infected and he succumbed to that.
1:21:45: After doing a lot of research myself, I find that rangers and game wardens often know there are certain animals that walk through the area but they are hesitant to state that because they haven't found evidence of breeding or "resident" animals. That's why they say the animal is not there. It's highly inaccurate but that is normally the case. I found this when people were spotting multiple jaguars in AZ but the rangers say there's only one because they have proven that there is only one resident jaguar. Animals know no state or country boundaries and they tend to wander into areas that are new to them and then go back to their territories. They often are chasing down prey or looking for new territory. So, the rangers/wild life "experts" will only say that an animal is there if they can prove their residency. I also know that they do this because they don't want people to get worried about running into the supposed "stray" animal walking through the area. This is highly irresponsible because we all should know what lives or walks through our areas, so we know how to protect ourselves from them. Science isn't the accurate study that we all been taught that it is - findings being released are based upon and/or colored by agendas from the science communities, organizations, and government. The best aspect of science is the idea of being skeptical - skeptical of what's observed, what seems to be evidence, and especially of the human factors involved.
1:51:40 It makes sense that if someone ends up mysteriously disappearing it is likely due in part to some of the worst or most unfortunate decisions in their life.
Sounds like you guys need to set yourself up a better investigative hiking backpacking survival kit before we end up watching a podcast about how the podcasters disappeared
On the matter of naval combat games, From the Depths is a fun, but incredibly unrealistic option, sail propelled ships are technically an option, but are more difficult to make than almost any other kind of ship. The age of sail like cannons are also practically useless
2:17:47 as someone who also gets nauseous with some video games, try Sea Bands and accept that some video games will just affect her worse than others (Kingdom Hearts is a killer). There's also some exercises for inner ear stuff, I think, that's supposed to be helpful for motion sickness.
1:21:25 My father used to be in the police in the UK, he said the police and government were 100% aware that there were big cats in the UK (he was telling me this in the early 90s, he was in the police from the 70s [read: when everyone released their big cat pets] I believe - I wasn't born, but wouldn't publicly acknowledge it because then they'd have to do something about it - which was a lot of effort and money! I wonder if the National Parks take a similar stance!
1:46:10 Nick - might be worth taking some viagra prior to hiking at elevation (bare with me on this), obviously check with your doctor first, but it helps prevent cerebral/pulmonary oedema (side effects of altitude sickness). Also perhaps you can get hold of some coca tea - if you drink it for a while prior to the trip it can also help mitigate the effects of the altitude sickness. Obviously proper acclimatisation would be best 😅.
1:22:37 cats go for the head which would explain the head bleed, of he managed to get back in the tent, what if he was on top of the sleeping bag (bleeding down onto it), would've made it easier to drag him out
Would you guys consider covering the disappearance of Ricky Jean Bryant please? I would love to hear your take on the case! It reminds me of the Sodder children case!
About Trenny Gibson: im not sure if this info has made the rounds yet but there is an investigator determined on solving this case and she's in thick with the family. I'll break it down simplified. The family knows more than what they're saying. Her older brother, the one that came home from the navy, was the one who drove up to the smokies and Trenny took off with him. Supposedly he was secretly taking her to go get an abortion and something went wrong. The baby's father was black so back then an unwed mother with a mixed race baby wouldn't go over in Tennessee . And the family is keeping this secret for whatever reason.
I’ve worked in a water treatment facility. That’s not what the fluoride is for Aiden. It’s just used to disinfect the water and should be only in such a small amount that it literally can’t do anything for your teeth or anything else anyway. If it is then that’s someone fucked up the ratios.
Even though fluoride is used to sanitize the water, people make the argument that the fluoride microdose helps teeth somehow. I think it was specific to children though, like a study study that showed that children who drank fluorinated water had significantly less cavities as adults. Not sure it works for adults who have already grown in their teeth I just remember my dentist always saying that I would never have as many teeth problems as my mother because I grew up with fluoride. 😅
When yall do your trip for the donner party and end on a monday morning in Sheridan find the fedex van and say hey to me or in the countryside of Lincoln any other day id love to buy you guys a beer
I heard (don't remember whereknow how accurate it is) but cavities are caused by bacteria that you don't have by default. It has to get introduced to you.
Yeah, Mattis' volume is floating up and down whenever he moves even a little bit, Thornbury's seems to be a little less floaty but still too low, at least next to Nick (who seems to have everything set up properly) 😂
Just a thought on the Jordan case... around his campsite was quite rocky, perhaps he fell/slipped and smacked his head, but didn't think it was bad, bled for a bit in his hat and his hammock, got up for a drink when the blood loss was starting to affect him, and then died. I have had a head injury that bled enough to make me desperate for water. Was there a stream near his camp?
That's a good thought. And a person can absolutely get a head injury that bleeds very little but has a lot of damage going on inside, causing things like disorientation, seizures etc. He could have very easily gotten in trouble in that instance.
For the man who took to the woods and shaved with big knife blades... all it could have taken is something to scare him while shaving... he could have jerked his head, not realizing how close the blade was... then bled out. A thought to ponder.
As the two channels are looking into some cases, therefore possibly multiple requests for info, what is the reaction to more recent inquiries of family, students, law enforcement? BTW, we're her parents ever suspects? While her mom was supposed to be a chaperone but begged off at the last minute, did she have an alibi? With Trenny's relationship with both boys, could mother and/or father have been on the mountain with suspicion she might hook up with the boys? Could they have hauled her off the trail or grabbed her if she stepped off the path to relieve herself? Anyone know if she was pregnant? Did her parents know? If Trenny gave a friend her ring, maybe she had no intention of leaving and that's why her $$$ was untouched. Maybe the ring was a trigger for her parents thinking it was from one of the boys?
Hate that I missed this because I was at work. You guys said something about the guy who died in his tent under TRUE mysterious circumstances. It being an average of 17° colder in MN than the Adirondacks, could he have had an icesickle form in his tent and break and stab him? That would account for the puddle of blood and nothing physical that looked like it cut him since the ice would have melted.???
My 2 favorite true crime unsolved/mystery (whatever genre you call it 😂) is The Lore Lodge and Missing Enigma. If I have to be honest Im gonna say Missing Enigma is my favorite, but Lore Lodge is definitely a CLOSE 2nd. If it was a race, Missing Enigma wins by a nose 👃 🤏.
Virginia MN doesn't have a walmart! It's technically right outside of town in the neighboring township lol. It does however have a Target. My wife grew up there and it's a beautiful little place.
Hell yeah Nick, definitely if you're into the fantasy realm Robert E Howard is awesome author Also can't go wrong with Tolkien of course lol when it comes to fantasy. If you're looking for an interesting read in the scientific/historical/anthropological genre you might like _Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies._ I'm glad I'm not the only one dying laughing from Nick's freezing webcam. I'm literally crying rn bc laughing so hard that I accidentally woke my girl up and now we're both watching the second freeze laughing our asses off. Great stuff guys seriously 👏👏👏
Concerning the Trenny Gibson case, you know the guy's alibi had to be airtight, since the only other suspect is the DA's son, and it's a black kid in that time and place, if there was any chance he could've done it you'd think they'd have pinned it on him. That said, I do wonder what part - if any - race had to play in what transpired. Like if the DA's son was jealous, found out that Gibson had been seeing a black boy, and that motivated him to some kind of end. I don't want to say we'll never know, but I feel time is running out for pertinent info to be collected from those with firsthand knowledge of the events. I do think it's possible she's still in the park. I think too much stock is put in the search parties and especially the scent dogs. How many times are individuals found in previously searched areas? It happens a lot. Nobody's dropping them there after the fact (usually), it happens. No disrespect intended to the searchers, but they have a lot of ground to cover. It's more than possible to miss things.
As someone who usually is on the side of "she left the park" this is exactly the thought that occurred to me as they were talking about it. It is completely believable someone might have done something out of jealousy - with a side helping of racism in there too, and then basically got away with it because everyone looked to pin it on her black boyfriend, like the perpetrator hoped.
Edit: Do the iceberg of journalist uncovering shady stuff that has been done to unsuspecting people. I saw that y'all were live last night but it was already an hour in. I'm going to have to start setting a calendar reminder since I don't always see the notification from UA-cam. I really hope y'all do continue the missing 411 content. I like the cryptid stuff but you can only cover so much of it. I do like the debunking conspiracy theories stuff too.
You guys should consider going up to Coronado Heights if you ever come to Kansas. It's a really cool place though I'm not a fan of it because I'm scared of heights, lol!
OK I’m down in my craft room yeah I’m a nerd, I’m not gaming at the moment, (PS5) I have no problems with it though. But the kids think I’m nuts because I keep laughing out loud. I first with your “not sure what you meant by that” second, gaming makes you sick text! 😂 great live tonight.
Second time listening. Awesome job everyone very insightful conversations! I appreciate everyones hard work research and time. Have a happy Thanksgiving guys!!
Jordan Grider could have been taken out like Dustin Kjersem was this month. His killer was angry that Dustin had camped in 'his' spot. They even shared a beer before he was killed.
Problem with that is that Grider was off the beaten path, not at a campsite or anywhere that'd make it an especially desireable location relative to any other if I'm not mistaken. Somewhere like South Jersey I could see it going down like that, very population dense, so even off the trail you can bump into someone, but where he was at? Idk. I almost think it'd be more likely someone sought him out rather than happened by and decided to get rid of him. He was a pretty solitary guy, there's a lot about his day-to-day we don't know.
Just a dumb theory, but it conically makes sense for the last case: Michael Meyers. Hear me out, dude is dead silent regardless of setting, inhuman abilities and the skill of tracking someone without them noticing. Only issue is the body, he doesn’t hide his kills😂
Hammocks are fairly unstable as it is. Wolves or bears could easily dislodge a person in a hammock if their dead weight and their bleeding can attract all sorts of predators and scavengers. However, wolves are not neat eaters. And their not going to drag a large prey too far to eat it.
46:48 He was a child, what if he was annoyed by that and wanted to scare everyone as well rather than go straight back, which could've taken him the way you thought.
That guy who died in Boundary Waters most likely met with foul play, as unlikely as it seems to you. Something to look into would be if there had been any other homicides in that area during that time frame. As far as his intention of staying the winter, I can only speculate, but I doubt he was planning on spending the winter in that tarp tent. Most likely he was planning on making a dug-out, or some other similar shelter.
You guys need to go to the BWCA, especially where he was found. You will understand how unprepared he was, as well as being vulnerable to an animal attack.
They start lodging the lore at 4:35.
I do believe its the lodge that gets lored my friend 👌🏻😂

Nick is so awesome, it's great to see the collabs between the channels.
Can we get name?
@kev2322 I just realized I mistyped the date. I was there in the summer of 2005. To answer your question, the girls name was Candace Kellie.
@@dustinfrey3067was about to comment to ask about the date. It seems that anglers found a human skull upstream from the town of Gardiner, Montana and in 2008 dna tests confirmed it was Candace.
I read her skull was located in September 2008.
@wannabesleuthinsomethin Where did you read that? I've tried to keep up with the story, and I've only found that nothing has been found. I am super interested in reading what you've found.
Joe Scott on his UA-cam channel mentioned the Lore Lodge as a go to UA-cam site for missing 411 😊
Joe scott is an og, and apparently has great taste
Speaking of attorneys involved with missing-person cases, I have always wanted a show like yours to do a deeper dive into that District Attorney from State College, Pennsylvania who disappeared. His car was found by the side of a river, and his electronics were disassembled. He never was seen again. He WAS involved with the Joe Paterno pedophile case, but a lot of people don't think that those two are related - as there were years in between the two instances, and just getting rid of one District Attorney would not have stopped that case from proceeding. The most leading theory is actually the mob. Yes. The mob. In central rural Pennsylvania.
Is that the case with a young black DA?
@@kingpaddy9009 Naw, but equally creepy. This was a middle-aged white guy.

There were periods in the Army I was eating 9000 cal / day and still lost 14 lbs in a few weeks…. Under extreme conditions the body needs way more energy than most people could imagine
Yeah Tour de France riders need 12k calories a day when they're competing
Or something on that order
Yep, same with strongmen. Some are up to 20000 a day for years. Destroys their bodies
Yeah I was doing some fairly minor hiking expeditions compared to this expedition (Brecon Beacons, approx 20k/day, 15kg pack) and needed 4500 calories/day and I would've been in a similar age group (17-18 years old female).
JJ Watt has mentioned some time in the past, that he would eat 12k+ calories on workout/training days
Of course. The gov doesn't care about the citizens. If they did...they wouldn't have sold us out to the whims of corporations.
I do really subscribe to the 'cat' theory on this one, when I was watching the LL video and when they were describing everything - I came to the conclusion it was a mountain lion. I think I wrote a full theory which covers everything about how the scene presented, on that video.
Good Lord, a tame-not-wild Thornbury. Remarkable what a shave can do.
Missed this live because I was watching Joe's video, but lol "[The black guy sneaking in to date the white girl] went to jail for getting shot‽" "It /was/ the '70s."
Edit: 1:00:00 Pravda (literal translation: "truth") has always been anything but, think the Russian equivalent of the New York Post.
yea even now trusting ssian media is stupid AND especially in the past
NY Times maybe...lol
In the 1970s (which I lived through), the country people usually drank. Drugs were for those with disposable income. Heroin is a possibility, gentlemen, but never forget cocaine in the '70s and '80s for those who could afford it.
Way back then alcohol was king, drugs were a very exotic and expensive pastime.
Lived through the 70's also and that's a perfect way of explaining the time!

Yes, weird and crazy deaths happen all the time. 1:23:35. I love The Missing Enigma, he is even better in a dialogue.
@andremorr if you haven't seen it it doesn't mean they were not circulating even inside mountaineering community for years.
National pride. She's scared of the military, not infrasound.
I can't believe I hadn't heard of that case until Lore Lodge. My in-laws live in Ely.
@BuckysKnifeFlip He was an out of state tourist, even if his death was weird it isn't that meaningful to local news.
@@trashcant69 I like the idea of a mountain lion
I am so impressed with your no BS approach to give us as much facts as you possibly can. Great content!
My dog has unwrapped a burger wrapper that was crumpled into a ball and licked it clean
Yeah animals can do all kinds of weird stuff.
That's because your dog is probably imitating you. The wolf wouldn't have any reason to sneak him out of the bag. It's much easier just to rip the bag open. A wolf is not a dog. People keep thinking that but they are very different species and act very differently
Absomutely love when you guys collaborate. The top channels in this genre which is so saturated with low effort garbage.
RE: Dennis Martin
When it comes to the photos where no weapons are visible, if they were going to be hunting wild men (not that I think that was the case) isn't it realistic to think that maybe they had a weapons cache drop at some point, maybe at night or whatever? It wouldn't be hard to coordinate those with weapons being nowhere near cameras, while those with weapons hunted wild men, would it? Again, I don't think that was what was happening regardless, but I feel like it's not as implausible as it was being implied as it was
Maybe but you would expect the ex green bridage to mention that then if they were there at the time. Eitherway I agree, it isn’t impossible for weapons to get in especially to defend against wild animals but it is hard to believe that dennis got snatched by someone

People would rather speculate and make a big mystery rather than look at the facts.
Thanks for the bullshit, darling .
But you know the truth in your soul
Thanks for the bullshit, darling .
But you know the truth in your soul
I'm a big fan of the mountain lion theory for Jordan's case, it just makes the most sense to me.
The Lore Lodge boys, Nick, and a Wendigoon mention thrown in. The golden quartet!
Y'all have to cover Lars Mittank one day... That's an order😂

56:37 I’m sorry, I was 💀 from Nick’s frozen face too lmaoooo 😂 Aiden I was cracking up too 😂😂😂
I was into Paulides until he brought up hikers (including Julian Sans) that went missing in the Mt Baldy area as being high strangeness during one of our worst winters in years and authorities begging people to stay out of the area until the weather got better.

@1:21:34 Ranger Rick!! From the Saturday morning radio show?? ❤
Awesome to see you guys together

Interesting, it would give an additional reason why they might not want her declared dead.
Not sure it works for adults who have already grown in their teeth
I just remember my dentist always saying that I would never have as many teeth problems as my mother because I grew up with fluoride. 😅

I heard (don't remember whereknow how accurate it is) but cavities are caused by bacteria that you don't have by default. It has to get introduced to you.
Only complaint with this podcast is that every mic has a very different volume
Wonder if they cut the knife sheaths open to check inside for blood or whiskers?

Hell yeah Nick, definitely if you're into the fantasy realm Robert E Howard is awesome author Also can't go wrong with Tolkien of course lol when it comes to fantasy. If you're looking for an interesting read in the scientific/historical/anthropological genre you might like _Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of Human Societies._
I'm glad I'm not the only one dying laughing from Nick's freezing webcam. I'm literally crying rn bc laughing so hard that I accidentally woke my girl up and now we're both watching the second freeze laughing our asses off. Great stuff guys seriously 👏👏👏
40:46 Did the FBI get Nick? OH NO
Bigfoot 😂
1:17:19 Can we get a mountain lion attack expert to review Jordan's case?
I freaking love Nick. I actually found his channel before I found this one.
Mattis, you're much better off planning your cult lodge for Appalachian West Virginia than Montana.
You guys should consider going up to Coronado Heights if you ever come to Kansas. It's a really cool place though I'm not a fan of it because I'm scared of heights, lol!
Trenny disappeared at the area where the trail crosses through. She very well could have left with some hikers.
Virginia and ely are both places I’m amazed I didn’t go missing walking around at night
Totally noted the "shout out" from Joe Scott, in his Missing 411 video yesterday
Second time listening. Awesome job everyone very insightful conversations! I appreciate everyones hard work research and time. Have a happy Thanksgiving guys!!
Yes he did!! Great video joe did
Jordan Grider could have been taken out like Dustin Kjersem was this month.
Nicks awesome! Have him on more! Hes got great videos
The Bigfiit poster makes me believe in America again.
My favorite mashup!
You guys need to go to the BWCA, especially where he was found. You will understand how unprepared he was, as well as being vulnerable to an animal attack.
