Saying that Mufasa and the Godfather part 2 are going to be on the same quality is BOLD Edit:I know that's not what he REALLY meant but him comparing those movies is bold af
Looks good to me. The only actual criticism I caught up on is that people noticed that Mufasa is noted as the first king, while in The Lion King he has stated that there were others before him, so there’s some lore inaccuracies.
I don't think that we ever wanted to know about Mufasa's origin story here. We already know that Scar is a jealous dingus, who wanted to kill his older brother to take over pride rock.
You had more to say than I probably would have in a video like this. Well, thank you so much. Honestly, I’m looking forward to Mufasa: The Lion King, Sonic 3, and the newer Lord Of The Rings movie that will all be coming out this December. Anyway, thanks again for this video!
ok people complain about something being copy from cartoon, are you kidding me?! Sorry if this seem out of touch, but I love the original lion king and the story.
I understand. I think people are going too harsh on Disney and need to understand that good movies take time to make especially heavy CGI, VFX take lots of time and dedication. This bashing won't help.

This is literally THE movie to show Disney that we want original stories instead of Remakes and all the haters are literally destroying their chance to show Disney this lol. They should also get more recognition for listening to the criticism with giving the animals more emotions
That's because Disney is in a era of listening to their films, you want more original movies and less live action remakes you got it, you want the animals to express emotion instead of being emotionless you got, you want a Kingdom Hearts Anime or theatrical movie you're getting it
I’d still rather a studio that tries and fails then someone like illumination that’s literally all about beating Disney, dreamworld and Pixar with as little effort as possible. And it’s disgusting that laziness is being rewarded to that level

To me personally, i think people just hate that movie out of principals. 1) "noone asked for this movie" - yeah sure, and the millions of headcanons and fanfics for exactly this topic were appearently made because "noone cared" 2) "They should go back to 2d because it gives me nostalgia, but they also shouldnt cash in on nostalgia" 3) "they retcon the first movie, by changing mufasa to be an orphan" - is this a bad thing tho? the original tried really hard to hammer in, that blood decides your status and role. I think this is a very cheap and bad plotpoint, not to mention what a horrible messege this is. Id love to see how Mufasa has to EARN his place as King, and not get it handed/forced upon him.
On top of that it isn't really a retcon since Mufasa never exactly said that he's blood related to the former kings. He only said that his father told him about them and since he will surely call his adoptive father just father this seems to work pretty fine to me with not exactly contradicting anything that was stated before. I really don't see why people are bitching about the movie so much. Personally it sounds like one of the better and more interesting ideas Disney recently had to me. Plus the "nobody asked for this"-shit... people could use that on 90% of every movie ever made, especially on spin-offs. Still I don't see people crying about Spin-Off shows like Knuckles recently. My guess is: They're only crying about Mufasa because it's from Disney
Well i guess we just have to wait and see. If it's gonna be a success and the movie is actually good then yay! If it's not then :( Also isn't the movie gonna release the same day as Sonic The Hedgehog 3? That's gonna be pretty interesting. I wonder if that will impact this movie in terms of box office.
I don't know why they decided that this comes out the same day as Sonic 3. There is so much hype for that movie, that if people have to pick one, they are way more likely gonna pick the movie that has had a good, consistent, run as a movie series so far. My only thought, maybe they're going for a Barbie/Oppenheimer thing to happen where people will see both in the same day, and it becomes a movement? Doesn't really work when the two movies aren't quite as polar.
Eh, I don't know about that. The Lion King is a lot more popular and beloved by the general audience. Like if I go on a street and ask 10 people if they know The Lion King and Mufasa I assume at least 8 will say yes or at least have heard a lot of it. If I would ask them about Sonic I would assume that maybe 4 - 5 people will say that they heard of it and even less will say that they're interested in it. While The Lion King speaks to every generation and every group Sonic is more known by gamers and mostly younger people. In case of general public audience Mufasa will most likely win here despite all the hate right now. I just can't see people who had never anything to do with Sonic running into this movie like crazy especially since it's already the third installment and these people most likely haven't even seen the first two.
@@Vadigrie Both Lion King and Sonic are very mainstream. There are plenty of adults who know who Sonic is. He's been around longer than the Lion King has. While yes, Lion King has had a very good legacy, with the sequels and even with the Lion Guard being pretty good, a lot of people hated the live action movie. So Disney has now lost trust, while Sonic has just been doing better and better. I'm sure plenty of people will go to both, but I'm convinced that even if Mufasa turns out to be a good movie, Sonic is still gonna beat Lion King opening weekend. People have had enough of live action remakes. Which is kinda sad since this isn't even a remake. It's an original story based on the remake. I mean, I still want to see it.
@@analogstickler2222 I'm not saying that Sonic isn't really mainstream but The Lion King is honestly way more mainstream. While it's true that many people didn't like the 2019 remake there are still indeed a lot of people who actually did. I mean the ratings for the remake aren't even utterly bad. It has a cinema score A and a user rating of 88% on Rotten Tomatoes for example. It was also the only movie I experienced yet in cinema where people applauded at the end so I don't know. Just always seems to me that the 2019 remake is one of those examples where the negative side is just a loud minority (and let's be honest a bad movie doesn't gross that high like the remake did). While I can also see Sonic 3 grossing more than it's predecessor (which was around 400 million) it just seems very unlikely to me that there will be such a drastic turnaround. At the end we have to wait and see but I really doubt it.
I wouldn't necessarily say it deserves hate, but i still remain skeptical of Disney's current ability to tell a compelling original story especially if it's connected to a previous franchise. Personally, I didn't dislike the live-action remake of Lion King because of the visuals, but because it meddled with a perfectly crafted timeless piece of work for money. The CGI itself in all honesty is really impressive, but that's not the issue. Disney has been showcasing that they can only get any audience's attention by riding the coattails of their older, more innovative work. I don't like writing off art before I've had the chance to experience it. But if the trend everybody's been noticing for the past several years has been disappointment and mediocrity you can't really blame people for not being open-minded or becoming apathetic.
