Epic firefight of massive scale at the beginning followed by very suspense and almost Counter-Strike-like corner lurking as the ominous silence spreads over the battlefield. One of the best ShackTac videos!
that was insane. that grenade right in front of the tree. and you retreating with your teammates falling, holding the line, I love defense games like this. its too bad there isn't many defense servers
I love how the start is this massive amount of gun shots and it is frightening. Then, the amount of gunfire drops dramatically, and it gets even more tense.
Epic shit as always. You're right about the firefights. ARMA 3's more fluid animation system really makes all the difference. Too bad the 5.56 is a pea shooter against the game's future world body armor.
I love the change from 1080p down to 720p. You barely notice anything on my laptop and it means you've a better fps, production is faster and we get more content. Everyone wins :D
***** Great answer, I'm part of an Arma 3 group myself and it's a great place to meet guys who know how to have fun and take things seriously to achieve a great level immersion you won't find in battlefield or call of duty. I've led fireteams, squads and even whole operations and gotten everyone killed but I learned from it and am proud to say my "rank" reflects my experience.
TheEthug We don't shame people for lack of skill, or honest mistakes. Shit happens, and everyone does something stupid occasionally. Being the new guy in a large group is definitely intimidating, but ShackTac is a very welcoming community. If you're really interested, you should certainly apply. dslyecxi.com/shacktac_wp/
TheEthug People are pretty much never blamed for lacking skills or being new. Just do your best to follow your team and listen to instructions. Dont have an itchy trigger finger and dont fuck off with vehicles and you should be fine ;)
it is, but the NATO faction has plate carriers with the most defense in the game, and most of the shots landed were torso shots. That and a lot fewer shots than you'd thing actually make contact
Yeaaaa, I wouldn't say that's totally true there Lithion, even with the helmets, you can take someone out with single headshot. Depending on the round you can take someone out with 2-4 body shots. Even with weapons ported from ArmA two that we use in my unit (5.56mm rounds) you can take someone out with one, maybe three shots. Take into account on latency and deflections off the rifle and launcher (Which has prevented me from killing people sometimes)
Bullet4MyEnemy Most modern militaries do use plate carriers in specific situations that provide level IV ballistic protection. Those plates stop around 2-4 bullets before shattering and being penetrated. Besides that, soldier wear quite some equipment on their vest: mag pouches with 3 stacked magazines, radio, compass, batteries, shovel,... All these items might stop or slow down a bullet, especially at longer range.
Dslyecxi, what's your framerate going at? I'm running a Radeon 280X and at 1920x1200 I was dipping way into the teens (then again, most of the settings were either high or very high, etc) Think you could do a quick video of your set up with gfx settings that you use for recording? Thanks! Great video as always!
Heres a couple of question...ive been watching a lot of Dslyecxi's vid and now im wondering...is UA-cam actually messing up the vids a lil? cause more often then not i just cannot see what he's shooting at...and about those fire cracker sound....what do they mean? are those supposed to be really close bullet wizzing by or anything? or just some sort of low caliber weapon beeing fired? thx
Probably several things: 1. UA-cam compresses the hell out of it especially when there is lots of action. 2. He's prolly running 1920x1200, pretty high res. 3. Sometimes it's just suppressive fire, shoot where everyone else is shooting. As for the firecracker sounds, I believe that is super sonic rounds going by his head. They break the sound barrier and so make a loud crack just like the tip of a bull whip.
Ahh I can't wait to see more of the future of A3. I haven't been keeping up with the mods though. Anyone here knows what realistic (ACE like) projects are being developed?
***** Play more on A3 maps, you just have not discovered their soul yet. My assumption is that they continue on the old maps because they get better FPS out of them... not because the maps are inherently better. Also, trees.
Troublechutor Oh, I like Altis, it is a great map, it is just that after thousands of hours of roaming Chernarus, it kind of feels like home, and I suspect these guys might feel the same.
Great vid! Can anyone answer my question: does Shactac limit ranged optics for infantry in adversarial games? I think it makes for more realistic firefights and means suppression is a vital tactic
Also live the game period, been playing for about a year and lived it since. I usually just play vanilla but thinking doing some modding. I would do anything to play with you guys.
Lithion Gaming I know it isn't about winning but I just wanted to know because it was a bit unclear to me. It seemed like it ended up being 1vs1 in the end.
That "sprayin and prayin" resulted in roughly eight kills by the end of the mission and had me as the second-to-last survivor, so perhaps there's something to be learned from how I'm shooting?
Not unless its how too's on round dumping. Nothing personal , just saying you have almost no fire control. And btw Jared Dotson I was talking about the overall match. there was some justified blanket fire ......but ammo dumping on someone 7 yards away ? Not really needed in Arma 3. That being said , nothing personal just an observation. :D
Advice.... to Dslyecxi...... Right.... Im sure he has it down (I do the same) So he doesnt have the sight itself obstructing whats in the immediate area around center point. That can prove fatal as your sight itself could hide an enemy
Not only what the others say, it's definitely true. But having the sight down, makes you think before you shoot, and minimizes blue on blue. If that is a factor.
I think most of the "lethality" issues with bullets are stemming from latency. There is a serious delay between hitting someone and a kill, making it look like you need a full mag. Perfect example is the guy that got blown up by a grenade at the beginning, and flails his arms into the air and falls over nearly a half-second later. Those armored vests will only resist two-to-three rounds, and only then fairly straight on. That and it is much harder to land consecutive shots.
Well the first one was Arma: Armed Assault. Wasn't it? So I would of thought it would make more sense to write 2&3 as ArmA, as it still retains the reference to the first game, with out calling it Armed Assault. Hence the two bigger A's :)
I say this in a joking manner, but do you actually win one of these adversarials one day? Every video i see you never survive to the end and i cant remember the last video your side won.
After watching Player vs AI for so long and how tactical it is, I feel like watching this PvP everything is suddenly disorganized. You all aren't grouped together, everyone is just everywhere, and there really isn't much communication happening at all.
Things change when you're dealing with actual people as opponents, ones who can hear you speak, predict what you're going to do, take cover appropriately, and fight with human intelligence. If you want to take your textbook vs-AI tactics and put them against players, particularly in CQB/MOUT, you're going to have a bad day.
I agree with that, I guess I just figured it would have been a little more cohesive than it was. I watched a couple of your other PvP videos and it was more like what I was expecting.
That beginning firefight was epic.
That was a rush. I was on the edge of my seat, I can only imagine how intense that was.

I love this new influx of videos Dslyecxi. It is like watching a movie, every time a new one comes out.
the start was a really nice firefight that dwindled down to suspense that had me on the edge of my seat for the last 10 minutes. awesome video!
Certainly one of the most intense firefights I have seen here.
I love how the start is this massive amount of gun shots and it is frightening. Then, the amount of gunfire drops dramatically, and it gets even more tense.
Excellent effort Dslyecxi. You and your teammates gave a GREAT fight.
And your reaction to the RPG near miss was classic too!
Epic shit as always. You're right about the firefights. ARMA 3's more fluid animation system really makes all the difference.

Wow, couple of these last adversarials in a3 have been so intense, keep uploading ;)
That silence when he asks if anyone is still alive
Loving the consistent videos, even if some are a bit shorter
Right as I got a cup of coffee and a cupcake, life can't get any better.
1:12 was absurdly cinematic.
Posting comment on my iPad and watching the vid on my xbox1 with a very big screen I can see the ppl your shooting at now.
Loving the vids as always.
This...this is a game of skill.
A game of communication.
Great, as always. Every time I watch your videos I think... I gotta get a damn TrackIR. Then I go out and spend money on car parts.
I love the change from 1080p down to 720p. You barely notice anything on my laptop and it means you've a better fps, production is faster and we get more content. Everyone wins :D
These FireFights are just.............................. AWESOME
That was awesome. Enjoyed that so much :) Great video.
Very good video, this is the type of stuff i like to see.
LOL! "Whoooa! Alright, I'm out outta here!"
that was so cinematic 1:11
7:33
General: "Your goal is to just fuck them down"
Me: "It will be my most honour..."
Loving the recent influx of content
Edge of your seat entertainment...thanks for that!
Dslyecxi:"Come on, i need that ammo."
ArmA:"NO!"
That was intense, thanks for posting.
Your videoes are awesome, always wanted to join something as structured and organized as this.

I've a small group of close-knit guys. PM me if you wanna know more.
Next game it should be Shacktac Vs Dsylecxi with a smoke grenade.

MentatEmulator
i would definitely apply but im not old enough and by the time im 18 i doubt the group will still exists
Just started watching,
"Is everyone and their mother in that forest?"
definetily want more!!!!!!!!!! GREAT VIDEO!
Great vid! How are you liking the gunplay so far? It seems really nice. It seems also much harder to hit people.
nice epic stuff. should try to do more of this.
How many shots does it take to kill in this game? Holy fuck. I thought it was supposed to be realistic?
it is, but the NATO faction has plate carriers with the most defense in the game, and most of the shots landed were torso shots.

1 to 10 depends on range of fire, caliber, wearing armor ets. Generally - 2-3 shots.
welcome to arma3, yet another wfield/cod clone

17:45 Incremental lean is so ninja.
That was intense just to watch! :)
This I'll watch.
this I'll read.
Finlay Nugent This I'll comment
That was a sweet mission!
Great Video
Great video as always man
I can't wait for SHACKER mission in Arma 3
I'm personally looking forward to a Shackwater 2.
Christian Friis Sørensen Yeah, that too :D
Oh I sooo want this game
that ambush reminds me of when i went paintballing a month ago, although i got plastered with fire from close range (kinda similar to your rocket)
Heres a couple of question...ive been watching a lot of Dslyecxi's vid and now im wondering...is UA-cam actually messing up the vids a lil? cause more often then not i just cannot see what he's shooting at...and about those fire cracker sound....what do they mean? are those supposed to be really close bullet wizzing by or anything? or just some sort of low caliber weapon beeing fired? thx

Thanks buddy
The cracking sound is the sound of a bullet passing very near to the observer.
Hay Dslyecxi, you know that in the inventory menu you can just right click what you want to take/give. It's much faster.
ok, you guys have to agree, this entire situation would have sounded cooler with JSRS, and looked cooler with blastcores! expecially at 1:11
hahaha at 10:30 he goes like "oh sh*t" and starts looting
"This We'll Defend" I see what you did there...
Ahh I can't wait to see more of the future of A3. I haven't been keeping up with the mods though. Anyone here knows what realistic (ACE like) projects are being developed?
(At the start) me: Now that was an attack:D
You guys ported Chenarus to A3? Thats awesome.
is the use of Altis not here because of performance issues? such a great map I think but is heavy on the machine
Chernarus is the perfect map imo, I love that map. Altis is good, but Chernarus has a soul.
***** Play more on A3 maps, you just have not discovered their soul yet. My assumption is that they continue on the old maps because they get better FPS out of them... not because the maps are inherently better. Also, trees.

Hey Dslyecxi, Is their a reason you drag and drop everything? Or did you not know you can just right click back and forth gear? Just wondering ^-^
20:15 man, their bodyarmor tweaks almost saved this guy. Almost.
You're character's breathing makes it sound like it's you that's out of breath lol.
what rifle is he using? At first I thought is was an F2000, but upon further inspection, it looks like a gun im not familiar with
Tavor, israeli defense force issue bullpup
OH another video yes!
Also live the game period, been playing for about a year and lived it since. I usually just play vanilla but thinking doing some modding. I would do anything to play with you guys.
Who actually won and how many players were in each team? Made a good firefight
Lithion Gaming I know it isn't about winning but I just wanted to know because it was a bit unclear to me. It seemed like it ended up being 1vs1 in the end.
Bulletproof unit on 02:11 (watch the tracer)?
Wow..... This is War :), Please more and more
I am fairly new; I'm curious at why there are boarders on the corners, why is it not fullscreen 'per-say'?
Dslyecxi doesn't play at 16:9. I think.
Ravioli Sumo is right, Dslyecxi plays on a monitor with a 16:10 Aspect ratio
entertaining as always!
Any one know what units they were using?
You guys are so Hardcore.
So...the tag line from Grunt Style? Great shirt company, I have like 6 of their shirts.
It's the motto of the US Army.
How did he get a3mp so the sound is in the right direction instead of behind you or reversed?
Any particular reason you have ammo count now rather than just displaying how heavy the magazine feels?
That was an ACE thing, as far as I'm aware ACE hasn't been implemented into ArmA 3 yet.
"This getting a little concerning" haha
Dyslexi are you PMCs in this video, noticed your not in regular uniforms
you are the best pilot ever , now ....shooting ? lol sprayin and prayin.
That "sprayin and prayin" resulted in roughly eight kills by the end of the mission and had me as the second-to-last survivor, so perhaps there's something to be learned from how I'm shooting?

namingsway You dont stop shooting until he goes down especially if you have ammo to spare
great game guys...
how many people were in this mission?
Word of advice to Dslyecxi: Aim your crosshair a bit farther up as a default position, instead of always at the ground.
Advice.... to Dslyecxi......
Brilliant !
when the firefight started that shit was hella dramatic.
The enemies were players right?
TheFamousOG Yeah
***** Ok! I was like ''A.I. can't be that good'' :p Good job btw love your videos!!
I wonder how this battle would have sounded with Speed of Sound V2.
crazy firefight :0
20:15 Whats up with that you need to put a full mag into one guy to put him down? The fuck?
Adolf Abel Thank you for posting this video, was awesome to see what that plate could withstand
Is shactac players vs AI or pvp?
Depends on the video, and I state whether it's vs players or vs AI in the video description. This is vs players.
ok thanks i always wondered :D

That we'll attack.
Dslyecxi, why do you spell the game as Arma, rather than ArmA?
Weird question I know :)
Isn't it only written as ArmA in the title screen, so its more symmetrical ?
ArmA stands for Armed Assault, which was the full name for basically the first Arma game but later games namely Arma 2 & 3 are just called Arma.
RechargingBatteries
no its written ArmA because its called "A"rmed "A"ssault
Well the first one was Arma: Armed Assault. Wasn't it?

No one is gonna cut your head of for think or writing that :P
Is it just me or is "This we'll defend" a famous quote? ...
Brilliant
Nice job checking the corners. Slow and methodical.
I say this in a joking manner, but do you actually win one of these adversarials one day? Every video i see you never survive to the end and i cant remember the last video your side won.
There was no central command until 7 minutes in... Why is this?

Good game!
20:10 a mag to kill a person? wtf arma 3
They sure take a lot of bullets.
The 5.56 is pretty damn weak in A3, only useful against unarmoured light infantry targets really.
It scares me to see that you can't see the enemy at all ;-;
When I get shot at by enemies I don't see in Arma 3, I just hit the dirt and watch for muzzle flashes. It usually works well enough :P
When you started getting really desperate for mags, I'm surprised you didn't pick up a rifle and either use it or take its mag.
Well then, This is pretty intense..
Nice :)
