I have owned just about every paramotor, and yes the FlatTop is a better paramotor,Its true in this case, you get what you pay for. The FlatTop is the best paramotor period.
The K2 only sinks about 230 feet per minute with the engine off. It has an incredible glide ratio. One of the very best I've ever tested in any class let alone the safest class of wings. Just search for K2 paraglider vs and you can see lots of side by side glide tests I've done. The K2 is absolutely incredible. Crazy awesome safety with freaking awesome performance and handling. Plus it is stupid easy to launch even in zero wind at high altitude.
@luna nadia The K2 is the Dominator. Same exact wing. Just different features. The K2 is the older one that was discontinued. The Dominator is the new one. Both are exactly the same wing and carry exactly the same certifications the Dominator just has all the lastest high tech materials, high performance lines and all the cool high end features.

I'm just wondering if the K2 (and similar new safe paragliders ) is good for free flight if it's so good and safe for powered flight? Or would one need a separate glider for free flight and one for powered flight?
I like the power unit, seems to give a pretty good climb rate! What engine is that?

Have you ever tested Nova Prion with power? Mine when power off sink like a flying brick ( about 4.2m/s) and i am in the middle of a weight range... Whats k2 sink rate when power off?
Dell, I know this post was quite some time ago, but do you still think that the K2 dominator is the best available (or has a new K2 model/ some other wing superceded it)?
Also, I see flat tops now paired with party's wings. What's your position on the paratoy wing quality almost 10 years later?
Yes the K2 is still the very best and the latest version is called the Dominator. It blows other wings away so badly it's really kind of ridiculous. There isn't even another wing that comes anywhere even close to the Dominator. I constantly test any new wings I think have any chance at all at beating the Dominator but nothing is even close. The paratoy wing is just a fake copy of a 30+ year old pile of crap. They are horrible. Here is a video where the 16sm Dominator out glides the 29sm Paratoys wing: ua-cam.com/video/kgnBf6ezqeQ/v-deo.html yes it literally sucks so horrifically that even the 16sm Dominator can still out glide and has a lower sink rate than their 29sm. The difference is so huge the Dominator utterly humiliates other wings. So instead of just saying it you can see it clear as can be in that video and many others. In fact I openly challenge anyone out there to try to compete honestly with the Dominator. I've been offering a $5000 finders fee for years for anyone that could produce a wing that could actually beat the Dominator but not a single taker. It's not Ford vs Chevy. The Dominator utterly destroys everything else out there big time. Call me if you have any other questions at 800-707-2525.

Super, you equipment is no match for the cheap stuff, but would have liked to see you trying it too or the other guy try your better equipment.

@imasuper0308 Dell, can you free fly, paramotor and paramotor tandem on the same size K2 or is tandem pushing it?
Put the old big guy on a flat top and then we could make a better diagnosis. You say you have used flat tops?
How about putting a comparison of a novice that has trouble with other gliders up? I would love to see you do a Geico like commercial..."So easy a caveman can do it." or in your case Jim, lol.
Not with a K2 it isn't. That K2 gives a capability we just haven't seen before. It makes those wild days where nobody else flies not just flyable but fun! Coolest wing ever!!

Blackhawk gear and training is horrible. So there are a ton more issues than that. This video really shows how huge the difference is between the best gear on the market with real training vs others.

This glider is the K2 but the latest version of it is called the Dominator. It's the biggest advancement in the history of paragliders. Absolutely incredible. Highest performance ever recorded with a top speed of 51mph on limited power and it's the safest glider as well. Absolutely incredible.
