Just from speaking to a guy who goes shark fishing here in Devon uk, as much as he hasnt seen any whites, he knows alot of fishermen who are absolutely convinced they have.
Awesome video as always buddy, looking forward to more of your shark videos for 2024. So informative and well presented, my fav you tube channel. Hope all is well my friend 🤜🤛
Great video as i also believe it's just a matter of time before a Great White is spotted in UK waters. They are known to swim in the waters of Maine and Nova Scotia Canada with sea temps similar to that of UK waters.
Nice to see you dropping another video, mate. I had to laugh when you said that even if Great Whites were confirmed in our waters you would still be comfortable swimming out in our seas...it is far more likely the temperature of the waters causes fatalities than shark attacks. Anyone prepared for a cold water shock will be grand. 😉 Also, anyone concerned shoukd watch the phenomenal UA-cam channel of the Malibu Artist. He constantly films Great White Sharks swimming around surfers, swimmers, kayakers & the likes. It is very true that they are way less interested in eating us than we are concerned about it.
Im still trying to dig out an pld photograph i had, from years ago. I went to Exmouth, Devon, and we went out very far off the Jurrasic coast, looking for dolphins. We didnt find any, but on our way back, we saw a dorsal fin , it wasnt a baskin or a porbeagle, as the shark was very aggressive , and curiuos . The underbelly was white, and it was at least 18-20 foot. The conditions were perfect and the water temp was adequate also. I got a good photograph of the fin ,and part of the upper body , im trying to find it for you dude
There’s big tuna in British waters nowadays, and this is a staple diet for great white sharks and they will follow the food source so I say 100%. There are great whites in British waters. It was said by scientists 20 years ago that in 10 years, there will be great whites of the British coast. It’s 20 years now.
Agree that you should go with OCEARCH, if you have the possibility. And it was nice see you back. Of course I do understand that not all UA-camrs spit out new videos every week. Personally I cross fingers it don't take too long, before something intresting shows up.🦈🦈🦈🦈
I think that the return and increase in the bluefin tuna population in the inshore waters around the southern half of the UK, would indicate that GWs are present due to the similarity in body temperature regulation and tuna could be another food source for GWs.
Really enjoy your channel and your passion for sharks. When I was growing up one of the local fishermen said that no matter the temperature of the water or the location if there is food the great white will be there. It would be super interesting if you ever had a whale carcass because that is what attracts the sharks here in South Africa 🇿🇦 it’s their version of a dinner bell 🔔, I think it’s very possible that great whites are in the UK but because the volume of people in the water is relatively low compared to AUS or SA attacks are less common. Thanks again
I saw in the news recently that Blue Fin Tuna are back in big numbers off Cornwall. I believe the Mediterranean Great White population follow the Tuna there. So if there are increasing number of Tuna in UK waters that’s another key prey item for the White Sharks in addition to the seals.
Another good video as always! I'll miss the sharkyness but agree with not posting dross just for content if nothing has occurred. Like you, I do believe they are there though. A guy in Canada caught a juvenile a few months ago of the coast of Nova Scotia and the water temp at the time averages between 12-16 Celsius so the UK waters are well within range. I agree the most likely proof will be a tagged shark popping up off the west coast somewhere however keep your cameras on while you're out doing other things! It's also unfortunate that science is for sale to quash any possible reports. As for Ocearch, if you get the chance, go. Most of us would gag for that opportunity. Keep fishing mate :)
I would be surprised if you find a great white. We're in Lochinvar every year and always visit Achmelvich beach...there's not a chance that they're in those waters, it's absolutely Baltic, takes me all the time to get right into the water it's bitterly cold.
Ask the shark trust about the seals found on the south Wales coast i gave them the photos 6 years ago One had a 14 in bite radius from its just behind its eye brows to half way along its shoulder blades. It was 10 ft above high water level and there was blood spatter on the shingle around the wound.
Nice video, looking forward to you're sea adventures using under sea drone and other devices, for a no nonsense review of related product's, also shame no UK backing for great white, media should be more interested in the amount of crap that's let in the sea than frightening tourists.
Hello it’s Joe from Cumbria , I sent a comment a while back and mentioned that I had a 2014 warrior 165 , well I went to the NEC boat show and bought a Hydrus cannon 3.7 and a20hp Suzuki outboard. We came to the island twice last year and we are back there on the 22nd of April in an Airbnb in Laxey with the boat , I may see you knocking about . Had a chat with OYZ boys at the show and have agreed to meet up with them at Whitehaven on the 6th of April for the big send off . Keep well Joe & Michaela
I live in NOLA or Louisiana in the US now its been extremely rare that the great whites visit the Gulf of Mexico below Louisiana! My cousin was fishing for Redfish at the mouth of the Mississippi River and he was bringing in a bullRed and something smashed it on the way to the boat and low and behold a 13 foot great white hits the side of the boat trying to get what's left of the Redfish off the hook! My cousin was in a 19 foot boat and the shark freaked him out so he picked up and left after the shark wouldn't leave and kept circling the boat! My cousin's brother saw one a couple of years ago in the same spot! At the mouth of the Mississippi we have speckled sea trout and Redfish which are being chased by huge tuna so it makes sense that the great white sharks are starting to show up around the area! Also there's a guy who was spearfishing off the coast of Mississippi and Alabama and he ran into a great white as well so it looks like the sharks are definitely visiting the Gulf of Mexico more frequently!
The warmest sea temps in the uk during thr summer months are recorded around that area just before the thames starts. Just west of there (London) is where the warmest summer temps are recorded so since that area doesn't allow the sea to mix aa much as other areas the sea temps tend the be the highest in the uk there. During the winter it would be Cornwall, specifically the isles of scilly.
It should read “coming back”. They were in the North Sea in the 19th century, the historic fishing record tells us that, when the North Sea was the world’s richest shark fishing area.
Between the first & second world wars, Charles Laughton's brother ran a boat out of the north east, and have seen pictures of the Blue fin tuna, that his rich clientele caught which were500+ lb.They were there following the huge herring population that made it's way up the east coast, look it up, never seen tuna this big. Charles Laughton was a famous English actor who played Quasimodo, he was in Spartacus and many other high profile films, I saw the pictures in an old magazine about British heritage, I believe GWs have been coming here since the seal colony was established.
I have heard of sightings in Orkney. Considering Great whites frequent temperate seas, with good seal populations I would say, they are definitely around British waters.
one was sighted in the harbour at hayling island it encouraged a massive search a couple of years ago. so they are about a hammer head shark was sighted in devon the waters are getting warmer so give it another ten years i wouldnt be surprised if the waters become tropical not too mention what happens on land .
I believe Great Whites are in UK waters for all the reasons you mentioned. Funnily enough when I used to speak to late grandfather he always used to tell me that Great Whites could be found in the Med and especially around Malta. Everyone else thought he was crazy but they now know it is true. So my late Grandad was correct and I believe you are too!
This is will a worthwhile expedition from Ocearch. I often check out the app but there is currently no coverage of the Eastern Atlantic so it will be interesting to track any white Sharks they tag in the Mediterranean.
It's going 2 be documented very soon 4 sure. Like u say, the water temperature isn't a problem. Look at the east coast of north America. Sightings up 2 Canada.
When jaws was made cape cod / Martha’s Vineyard had barely any great whites, now it’s a hot spot, it’s inevitable I’d imagine, assuming they don’t mind our sewage / pollution of course. Love your work 🙏
Does the south coast of Ireland and England have the same water temperature as New Brunswick and Nova Scotia? White Sharks have moved further north from Massachusetts, are they there until October i believe, then they migrate south again and stay between Florida and South Carolina until May.
On 4th July 2003, a party of four divers provided a very credible description of the suspected great white that came to inspect their dive boat as they were preparing to enter the water off the western edge of the Summer Isles, near Ullapool., the marine biologist confirmed the shark as a great white ,juvenile, there has been one other incident around the Hebridean islands , in 2011 a great white shark was spotted by fishing prawn boat between the channel separating Barra & Uist , as far as I know it swam past the boat , it’s triangler fin and it’s white under belly identified it as a white shark , I would say they’ve been. Visiting the west coast of Scotland for some time , they’ve probably went unnoticed,
OK....I believe they are here but your in the south what about skegness???? Been sighting in the past, could you please fill in the missing blanks what we are not to know? Many Thanks x
If you get to a point where evidence supports GW's being in your waters, you might want to rethink owning an inflatable boat. Have you seen that video where it shows a GW tearing a massive rip into the inflatable part on the side of a boat during the filming of a documentary?!?! Wishing you the best on your adventures!😊

Shame you chose/had to part with the Warrior boat after all the work you put into its restoration etc. I really enjoyed those videos and was nearly inspired to get one myself... 😉
Yes. The UK Has White Sharks! Believe it or not but we do have Great White! First of all the UK is surrounded with TWO big waters. On the east side there is North Sea. Cold and not so huge. BUT-on the west side there is Atlantic Ocean. Which is HUGE. And warm enough. Especially during the summer time. And YES-there is a lot of species. Including Great White Sharks. You can check their migrations. Anyway-happy surfing 😊

I’ve been saying this for years, there’s no way the uk would allow any shark organisation to do a thorough search of the area because of the uk tourism industry, imagine how much they would lose if people stayed away from a beach holiday in the uk.

Like the great whites I'm not claiming they are here on mass or it's even a regular route of their life's journey. But they do come here and have been spotted.
Stay angry little man 👍
This year will be ace! If they find anything off the west Irish coast then you can safely assume they're up here in Scotland. You could try towing the wife at four knots behind your kayak and see if anything happens lol.
Unhinged last bit of the comment there😂😂😂
🤭🤭🤭
😂😂😂 made me crease
🤣🤣🤣 they would spit my wife out lol
Guarenteed they are around our seal colonies , we have thousands of them , be like an all inclusive buffet for them
Wow. I’m proud of British shark scientists today.
You swim off Pembrokeshire, we've got friends who say they have "big sharks" they haven't said exactly what but they insinuated. They have seals so it doesn't seem improbable
Awesome stuff, great vision for the channel.
I bet they're coming to Scotland 🏴
noooooo suffolk
I was wondering where your channel went for a second!!! Liking the new name bro.
Looking forward to the next video on the SIB with the new 20hp and trailer. Perhaps another sib camping when the weather improves
4:10 crazy that capital interests always get in the way of the truth. Influential, wealthy people trying to protect their own interests. I would say shocking but it isn’t!
I put a bet on with my sons about 5 years ago that great white sharks would be confirmed to be in Scottish waters by 2025, time is running out but I’m quietly confident that they have been passing through our waters for years.
Dont believe the hype lol you need to up your game. If they've not been seen up to this point then common sense tells you it's not going to happen. We're living in the era of youtube and it's all for clicks and nothing else. You will lose that bet 100%.
@@kjpkjp8083 The oceans are deep so anything could be swimming around out there, I still believe they are here, still got a few months yet to win my bet lol
There was a confirmed incident in Scotland in the early 1900s. I think theyre rare but definitely they visit the British Isles . Its too perfect an environment for them not to be there.
Awesome mate .. Will look forward to your upcoming stuff ..
Just from speaking to a guy who goes shark fishing here in Devon uk, as much as he hasnt seen any whites, he knows alot of fishermen who are absolutely convinced they have.
Whatever your content I'll keep watching, so bring it on ya legend!
Haha thanks
That is exciting news about tagging in the Med.
Not if your a GWS
Here in Bangor ni we have a huge seal colony here I firmly believe we have great white sharks here
You don’t
Yes they do
Awesome video as always buddy, looking forward to more of your shark videos for 2024. So informative and well presented, my fav you tube channel. Hope all is well my friend 🤜🤛
Mint as always
Great video as i also believe it's just a matter of time before a Great White is spotted in UK waters. They are known to swim in the waters of Maine and Nova Scotia Canada with sea temps similar to that of UK waters.
Nice to see you dropping another video, mate.
I had to laugh when you said that even if Great Whites were confirmed in our waters you would still be comfortable swimming out in our seas...it is far more likely the temperature of the waters causes fatalities than shark attacks. Anyone prepared for a cold water shock will be grand. 😉
Also, anyone concerned shoukd watch the phenomenal UA-cam channel of the Malibu Artist. He constantly films Great White Sharks swimming around surfers, swimmers, kayakers & the likes. It is very true that they are way less interested in eating us than we are concerned about it.
UK waters aren't that cold. The Gulf Stream keeps it from being too cold. It's not the Arctic.
@@lyndoncmp5751 then theirs me living in England who won’t go anywhere near the sea unless it’s the hottest day and even then it’s to cold 😅
@@chloejayne1520
Too cold in England even during a hot summer? I went swimming at Littlehampton last September. The water was warm. 😊
@@lyndoncmp5751 yes honestly I’m such a wimp when it comes to the cold, haha!😂
@@chloejayne1520
Ha. It always feels cool when you first get in but it warms up nicely after a few seconds. Then it feels like a bath ✌😊
Did you find it?
There’s big tuna in British waters nowadays, and this is a staple diet for great white sharks and they will follow the food source so I say 100%. There are great whites in British waters. It was said by scientists 20 years ago that in 10 years, there will be great whites of the British coast. It’s 20 years now.
@@delhog6161 not sure a great white can catch a tuna? They struggle with seals and dolphins. Tuna are like bullets
Would love to see the photo !
Yours is one of the best you tube channels…really enjoy your videos
Thank you so much 😀

Agree that you should go with OCEARCH, if you have the possibility.
And it was nice see you back. Of course I do understand that not all UA-camrs spit out new videos every week.
Personally I cross fingers it don't take too long, before something intresting shows up.🦈🦈🦈🦈
Would be epic if they can get trackers on a reasonable number of white sharks in Europe
If You can get on the Osearch vessel You should do it Bro…👌🏻💯💯💯🙂
I saw in the news recently that Blue Fin Tuna are back in big numbers off Cornwall. I believe the Mediterranean Great White population follow the Tuna there. So if there are increasing number of Tuna in UK waters that’s another key prey item for the White Sharks in addition to the seals.
Love the channel, love your honesty..... keep it going 👍
Knew THIS There were sightings of great whites 15 years ago from a fisherman off Cornwall..frightening
Is it colder than Campbell Island though, where they are known to have been?
I wonder if theyve always been fairly close, due to Gulf Stream. Not in coastal UK waters. But off Scillies, Outer Hebs etc. West Ireland etc
Love this can't wait to see what sharks get tagged 😊😊
Ask the shark trust about the seals found on the south Wales coast i gave them the photos 6 years ago
One had a 14 in bite radius from its just behind its eye brows to half way along its shoulder blades. It was 10 ft above high water level and there was blood spatter on the shingle around the wound.
Since Bluefin Tuna are now turning up off our coast again....I'd say there's a good chance that other predators will be along at some point too...
The greenland shark can live to at least 250 years old and upto 400 . Love your videos
I hope you go with Osearch. What an experience that would be !
My Dad said he saw them in the Channel years ago. We have friends and they have implied they have seen them when out and about.
I think they are here for sure I'm in Liverpool and would love for they to be found.
I've seen a great white back In 1994 in Helensburgh.
Myself and brother where under a pier and it was a couple of feet from us both, definitely!
I have heard of sightings in Orkney. Considering Great whites frequent temperate seas, with good seal populations I would say, they are definitely around British waters.
There here . Its only a matter of time before one is viewed/photographed . Like you say i can't believe it hasn't arisen already .
They might follow the tuna migration, especially in the next few years, but I don't believe they are resident.
I’m 42, great white confirmation in UK this year, maybe, in my life time, definitely!! 🙏
Can't wait for Osearch to tag sharks, fingers crossed they will tag a few GWS, no doubt they will confirm they migrate into UK waters 😊
one was sighted in the harbour at hayling island it encouraged a massive search a couple of years ago. so they are about a hammer head shark was sighted in devon the waters are getting warmer so give it another ten years i wouldnt be surprised if the waters become tropical not too mention what happens on land .
Was there a GW ATTACK about 20 years ago in the ARTIC or near the North Pole
Are you thinking of the attack he mentioned in the beginning at Campbell Island, which is getting towards the Antarctic?
I'm not talkin' 'bout pleasure boatin' or day sailin'. I'm talkin' 'bout workin' for a livin'. I'm talkin' 'bout sharkin'!
Well Im not talking about hooking some poor dogfish or sand shark, Im talking about finding a great white!!
@@lyndoncmp5751 you got city hands
Yes, they are coming from Alicante 😮
When jaws was made cape cod / Martha’s Vineyard had barely any great whites, now it’s a hot spot, it’s inevitable I’d imagine, assuming they don’t mind our sewage / pollution of course. Love your work 🙏
Does the south coast of Ireland and England have the same water temperature as New Brunswick and Nova Scotia? White Sharks have moved further north from Massachusetts, are they there until October i believe, then they migrate south again and stay between Florida and South Carolina until May.
I hope you get that chance it will be epic!
Omg how exciting! I want Great Whites in Scottish waters! 😍
Visiting the west coast of Scotland for some time , they’ve probably went unnoticed,
Wow! An invite to get onboard with Ocearch. How could things be any better?
OK....I believe they are here but your in the south what about skegness???? Been sighting in the past, could you please fill in the missing blanks what we are not to know? Many Thanks x
If you get to a point where evidence supports GW's being in your waters, you might want to rethink owning an inflatable boat. Have you seen that video where it shows a GW tearing a massive rip into the inflatable part on the side of a boat during the filming of a documentary?!?! Wishing you the best on your adventures!😊
I get where he's coming from, but I'll miss his shark-related content. Who knows, perhaps this is the year we'll get get confirmation of GW sharks in the UK and he'll get onto the subject!
Shame you chose/had to part with the Warrior boat after all the work you put into its restoration etc. I really enjoyed those videos and was nearly inspired to get one myself... 😉
Be amazing if they do come 👍
2:28 is not a shark fin. But mammal.. Than again I do wonder why we haven't seen them yet..
Exciting times ahead…
I really hope that the expedition finds a few GW’s in the med and that we can track them up the British isles….
I believe they’re here, it’s perfect for them…but we shall see.
Keep up the fishing and exploring vids, always well thought out content..👍🏻
Have you seen/heard anything about Nukumi? Regards from Norway
I believe the tracker has come off so no data on her or sightings
Thanks@@AirbornePirates
I’ve been saying this for years, there’s no way the uk would allow any shark organisation to do a thorough search of the area because of the uk tourism industry, imagine how much they would lose if people stayed away from a beach holiday in the uk.
Makes me laugh that costal businesses worry about GW's being confirmed more than they do sewage being flushed out close to our beaches.
very cool
loved it
They are there! just rare!
Love your vids 😍
Watching your videos and I've noticed hardly any fish about 🤔 not even an eel which I find a bit sad, is that normal? I've always been scared to go in our sea but after watching your videos I may change my mind 😆
Great videos 👌
