Great Railroading. Studying actual grain loading and unloading operations. Simple and direct.

@@blainedunlap4242 thank you for watching… I do have a drone now so I’ll catch them breaking down the train from the air… they just lengthen their yard to hold longer trains.

Great catch of this MASSIVE Grain Train being dropped off to be loaded! Ive been seeing Grain Trains here in Delaware headed to Perdue Farms which is a BIG Poultry Industry here. I haul grain in a truck for a guy thats contracted through Perdue to shuttle the different commodities around to their grain mills up and down the East Coast. Thanks again for sharing another great video with us! Cheers from Laurel, Delaware

Ohhhh. I'd always assumed those STLX (Tate and Lyle) hoppers were carrying sugar. Never knew Tate and Lyle did grain, too.

The good thing about filming switching is the slack action and seeing the Conductor and Engineer work the train!🛤🚂

There is a lot of similarity to the grain elevators in Wisconsin as most either have stub and tracks or some just one longer track. I can only think of only one on a loading Loop. Some of the older closed ones were built for 40-foot boxcars and some are just too small to load full trains

@@paulbergen9114 they have a big enough yard for about 110 cars and they have another siding North of the curve at Morgan street that can hold another grain train as long as TP&W doesn't have it filled up with tank cars. Lol

Greetings, Thank you for the great videos you bring us! Question, Engineer is controlling the DPU from the lead engine parked did not walk the 107 correct? If that is so, Even with your editing, I see no lag in time of conductor and engineer controls. correct also? BTW, These videos are a calming time when I need it THANK YOU. Edit. OOPS I was wrong engineer did walk all the way to DPU. No I did not wait till end to make first post, That is why I am now editing! Thank you!!!

No I have been told that the engineer in the lead engine Acts as the conductor for the break down and there's another engineer in the back engine when they have two engineers available but when there's only one they usually have a yard man or mow worker drive the engineer back to the rear of the train.

It belongs to TP&W but the train is NS 55G. I counted the amount of times I filmed UP power on this train over the past six months and we've seen UP power 6 times and CP power 3 times. Lol

Outside Illinois and Wisconsin, UP has basically no trackage east of the Mississippi. According to Wikipedia's map, they have trackage rights a few miles into northwest Indiana (looks like to Gary or somewhere like that), and a line into what looks like Memphis, but that looks like all there is.
