I had the pleasure of attending Shiloh Baptist Church in Cotton Hill, GA when I was growing up, am still a member today and heard Miss Ellen play every Sunday morning FOR YEARS. She also taught my Sunday School class for a year or two and chaperoned a few beach and amusement park trips once I was in the teen Sunday School classes . Most musician's skills start to decline with age....BUT not Miss Ellen's!! Even in her final years it would bring a tear to my eye hearing her play my favorite hymn, Leaning on the Everlasting Arms...which I requested so much that she would start playing it once I entered the fellowship hall. Aside from being a GREAT PIANIST, she was also a wonderful human being. God really broke the mold when He made Miss Ellen. The influence she passed on to so many young people over the years whether it was teaching piano, Sunday School or just good ole fashion right and wrong is impossible to measure. She told me once just before her passing that music played such a huge part of her life that she always went to it when times were dark and it always soothed her!! I could type all day about her...but I gotta stop...getting misty eyed over here!!
i LOVED HER IMMEDIATELY. SHE JUST PLAYED MY MOST FAVORITE SONG. IT IS THE BEST PERFORMANCE OF THIS SONG THAT I HAVE EVER HEARD! MAY GOD BLESS HER WITH OTHER 90
She not only plays fantastic, she plays with flare! Still love that Octave (1) chord 2nd Octave (5) chord. That's what my teacher Eloise Phillips called it. I think Mark Lowry calls it the left handed windshield wiper. She's still got it!
She very well might be Miss Ellen and if tomorrow she tells me she’s someone else then we gonna go with it as long as we are happy 😊 safe sound and if we disappear physically then tell them we ain’t leave we just testing and flexing 😂 yes haunting them lovingly in every aspect of their lives and tell them write us please because we need a lot to read too I keep dropping the books I let the pages fly too
Absolutely amazing! My favorite song to sing, played by a godly Christian woman. Hats off to you Ma'am !

Cool brother...
Love it!
My favorite was her rendition of Hoagie Carmichael's Stardust. She could rip it up one side and down the other.
I'd so love to hear her play Stardust and other pieces.
Link please.
