I'm new to resin art and have been watching a ton of tutorials. Yours are some of the best I have found! I've had a friend request a glitter cup from me so this tutorial is what I am going follow, with the exception of her wanting an ombre effect. I'm looking at one of your other videos for that technique.
I love this tutorial! I love the look of chunky glitter but always feel like I never get it flat so this helps! Thank you, Mayra is going to love this tumbler! You are so sweet!
Great tutorial. I am totally new and in the middle of making my first cup…which is also a hot pink, like this. I’m calling it my experiment, hopefully it will turn out ok. Either way, I am loving the process.
I know you tap the glitter down real well with the parchment paper. Have you ever tried rolling the cup itself on a hard surface with parchment paper? I do that and it smooths it out really well.
When I saw the hot pink, my first thought was, " That's Mayra's favorite color, she would like that cup." It turned out to be hers! That's funny. That's very nice of you. Thanks for the video.
I love this and thank you because, for whatever reason, my chunky glitter and I are fighting right now. Also, Mayra is the absolute best!!! Thank you again!!!😍
Thank you so much for all these great tutorials. I ordered the Amazing Clear Coat like you suggested and wow! I was so struggling with getting a clear flat coat. This stuff is the best, fixed my mess from the last brand too. And so excited to put an order in with Peachy Olive Glitters, narrowing down which ones I want is the hardest part! haha ❤️
I used to keep a list going and cross them off as I was finished and I’d rewrite the list after a new batch of orders came in. I don’t have any fancy way to organize orders lol. A notebook and a list is all I did
Your introduction music who is the artist and what is the name of the music. So nice! Also so nice of you to make that cup for Mayra. I watch her as well. You all do great work
Epoxy application is best for chunky. Pat down the glitter to flatten out pokey bits before it cures. Give it a good clear coat before the next epoxy later. Then dont apply decals until you have a smooth coat 😊
Thank you, the fine glitter on the edge is a great idea. So for 20oz cups with chunky glitter, it's 30oz for the first three layers of epoxy and 20oz for the 4th& possibly 5th layers?
@@FlynnSistersBoutique Yes, that makes sense because I do 20oz skinnys and you did what looks like a thicker 20oz and I think that would be too much on a 20oz skinny 🥰🥰🥰. I'm a newbie and learning as I go,one tumbler at a time😩
@FLYNNSISTERS HEY jessica, I was curious, do you smell the epoxy? like does it have a smell? other people say they smell something and then i never can. (not other people, just one person that doesnt want me usig it) ive used several diff brands and ive never smelled a chemical smell or anything
Some people are more sensitive to the smell than others. Epoxy fumes are toxic until fully cured even if you dont smell it. You should work with a respirator.
Just curious…when you put that first layer on to add the glitter, you don’t let it completely cure before you add the quick coat and first layer? Does it just cure completely with time?
the layers don't need a "full cure", they just need to be dry. the whole cup including the final layer will however need a "full cure" before every day use
You can wait for that to dry, tap off all the excess glitter and then do a second coat with mod podge or spray adhesive, then seal that after it dries with clear spray paint then epoxy
What she said. Let the epoxy sit after applying it and also make sure your cup is warm before applying the epoxy for the glitter so it glides on smoother
Is there someone going around threatening legal action if you don't teach with a mask on? It's crazy how influencers were teaching very organically and suddenly, this...
I can't speak for others but I have always worn a respirator while I epoxy for my safety. In editing videos, I do a lot of voiceover work so I don't sound muffled under my equipment.

I know you tap the glitter down real well with the parchment paper. Have you ever tried rolling the cup itself on a hard surface with parchment paper? I do that and it smooths it out really well.
I know that works also. I've just always done it this way and it works for me 😄

You are heaven sent ! Thank you ❤️
You are so welcome Kam!
Beautiful color 😍!!! Jessica do you have any ideas on how to stay organized and on schedule with tumbler orders?
I used to keep a list going and cross them off as I was finished and I’d rewrite the list after a new batch of orders came in. I don’t have any fancy way to organize orders lol. A notebook and a list is all I did
Beautiful cup. Thank you for the tutorial!
That color is 100% Mayra. Beautiful cup!
Thank you Becky!
So pretty,my daughter in law is Mayra also. Great name.Thank you
You're very welcome. Such a pretty name!
I’ve waited a couple of hours and rolled the cup in parchment paper to lay the chunky glitter flat.
Yes, getting that glitter coat to lay flat before it dries is key.
Hello ! Thank you for the great vid .. I am struggling doing my tumblers but this vid is great and helped alot ! .Where do you get your face mask?
You can find my mask in the amazon link in the description box.
TYVM - enjoyed it
Beautiful
Your introduction music who is the artist and what is the name of the music. So nice! Also so nice of you to make that cup for Mayra. I watch her as well. You all do great work
Thank you for the compliment Shirley! It's called Lakey Inspired - Me 2 feat. Julian Avila and comes from the UA-cam audio library.
I liked it alot. I alway have issues with decals on chunky glitter.

Beautiful! What is the color for the paint?
Thanks! Design masters pink glow

You're welcome Onekka! Those are the measurements that work for me. You don't want to do thick coats and risk micro bubble and muffin top.
@@FlynnSistersBoutique Yes, that makes sense because I do 20oz skinnys and you did what looks like a thicker 20oz and I think that would be too much on a 20oz skinny 🥰🥰🥰. I'm a newbie and learning as I go,one tumbler at a time😩
When I got Bailey I thought of Mayra also!

@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank you ❤️
Can you use polyacrylic to seal in the first coat instead of counter culture quick coat?
Yes you can. Water based polyacrylic. I prefer the CCDIY quick coat because there is no yellowing over time.
Do you have a video on cost and pricing?
i'm sorry i do not.
My epoxy wouldn’t stick to my paint. What paint do you use?
All my materials are linked in the description box. If your epoxy wouldnt stick to your paint, your paint wasnt dry enough yet.
What can I do if after glittering I have gaps because there was not enough epoxy?
You can wait for that to dry, tap off all the excess glitter and then do a second coat with mod podge or spray adhesive, then seal that after it dries with clear spray paint then epoxy
Do you apply waterslide's over the sanded cup or only over epoxy?
You can put it over a sanded cup but you need to spray a glossy clear spray paint first. Clear waterslide should only go on a glossy see face
Can you do a video with H2O all over the cup??? Beautifully done by the way!!!
Probably not since it would be the exact same video as this but maybe I can do a Tiktok with that
@@FlynnSistersBoutique i def took notes on this before I go to use H2O!!
Is quick coat an epoxy and do you have to mix it?
No, quick coat is not an epoxy and it does not get mixed. It comes ready to use.
I need some help on a tumbler I'm making. where can I connect u
Are you in our Facebook group? That’s a great place to ask for help! facebook.com/groups/flynnsisterscommunity/?ref=share_group_link
@@FlynnSistersBoutique ok joined
Maybe I missed it, but how do you get the lines to go away when doing the epoxy method?? Mine always end up having tiger stripes in the glitter 😞
Let it the epoxy sit and level out a little before applying glitter.
What she said. Let the epoxy sit after applying it and also make sure your cup is warm before applying the epoxy for the glitter so it glides on smoother
❤️
Thank you Melissa 🥰
I’ve seen where people seal the tumblers with hair spray… have u heard of that or tried it??
I’ve never needed to or wanted to do that.
Where did you purchase the mask?
I link my materials below each video. The mask I use can be found by clicking the misc. link
@@FlynnSistersBoutique thank u!!! Your the best!!!
Could someone please tell me the youtube channel of the person who this is made for?
It’s Mayra makes it :)
What was the name of the person you watch? Miriam, Myrna?
Mayra Makes It
Okay…okay
