    I am trying to do exactly the same with my street bob 2012 model.....I mean the quick detachable sissy bar fixing.....your idea of increasing the rear bolt length from 2.5" to 3.5" really solves the problem and saves the price of signal directional/relocation kit.....thanks for amazing work.....keep sharing

    Had to do something similar on my street bob w/ the cycle visions plate. I have some Viking Warrior saddlebags and ended up having to mount the taillights onto the plate mount. Just bought a quick release sissy bar, so now I will have fun struggling with the bolts too haha

    Good job. I was originally going to go with a removable sissy bar but instead decided to just bolt it to the frame so that I could use the same extended mounting bolts for hard bags (need to get them painted). That way the bar and the bags are both bolted directly to the frame instead of a bracket attached to a bracket attached to the frame.

    I know this video is 7 months old but I’m watching it now and you asked about a good first aid kit. Delta Provisions Tactical First Aid Kit on Amazon is a very good one for what you want I think. It does not have a tourniquet, but you can pick one up for like 14 bucks anyway.

    Bro! Thanks for this video! I ordered the Harley-Davidson detachable sissy bar come to find out I have to relocate my blinkers which I don't want to do! This helped!

    Bandaids are good if you ever get a blister. Definitely a must for most first air kits.

    With the cycle visions plate light wires did u splice into the rear signals running / brake / signal and plate light wires after the feed ? Meaning the actual wires that are connected to the rear existing signals ? Appreciate all the help thanks in advance

    The bike is looking niiiice. Have you considered using "IDC Weatherproof Terminal Splice Tap?" They are easy to use and do not require cutting on wire insulation. Thanks again for the videos!!! :)

    Not sure of the brand but they do make rear quick disconnects that let you utilize your stock turn signals and the wiring goes through the center of them so it looks OEM.

    Take the block off plates that came in the kit and use those between the blinker and quick detatch to seal off the hole??? Might need a little longer bolts???

    Do you know what size screws you used for the turn signals? I have a 2011 street bob which I’m running into the same problem trying to run the detachable sissy bar

    Question about your Exhaust I have the Bassani Road Rage II Mega Series 2-into-1 Exhaust System. Do you ever go into a turn and scrape the front cover? Trying to see if there’s a way I can avoid this.

    Props to you for carrying a first aid kit! I'm sure you already got one by now but my advise is do the research and build one yourself. Carrying supplies you don't know how to use doesn't help anyone so learning how to use everything as you build your kit is super effective! A great base to start with is:
    -1 CAT or American Rescue tourniquet
    -1 roll-up splint
    -2 ace bandages
    - vacuum packed cause
    If you have room for more double the list! Love the videos man keep up the good work!!!

      JonnyRoadblock I didn't call it a glide because glide is in the name, more because people buy those bikes for comfort, like gliding on a cloud.. and geezer because it's only old guys who complain about comfort on a bike lol

    hey man loving the videos! Curious, I was installing some similar tail lights and pulled the wire harness down. When I went to stick it back to the top of the inside of the fender with double sided tape it doesn't stay. How did you get your wires to stay put and out of the way?
    Thanks!

    • @BikeNBird
      @BikeNBird  6 років тому

      I ditched the tape actually. The plastic that runs on the inside is enough to keep all the wires in place

      Bike N' Bird oh you have some kind plastic thing that holds it?

  • @PhweeRage

    I don't understand what happened to the wires from the turn signals back into the rear fender? Before they were wired through that second hole in the fender. Then the signals were pushed outwards, the wires couldn't go through the old holes due to the new sissy bar, then there was no explanation on how to rewire the signals?

    • @pavanmandlik
      @pavanmandlik 3 роки тому

      I am also having same doubt....but I guess you can somehow pull the wires to pass through fender holes.....

      JonnyRoadblock the point isn't for him to be the one doing the jabbing. He likely dosnt even know how to use a decompression needle properly. But they are small enough that it's worth having because who knows somebody else may be trained to use one but is un prepared

    Why care if subscribers think your intro is too long? They still watch it right? I dont care about your intro length, because it's the work you do that ultimately matters. Here's a link to a first aid kit company (maybe a bit big for a bike, but you can decide what you really need). Keep doing what you have BEEN doing, because those are the videos the majority appreciate I'm sure. The rest of the people are looking for a quick "how-to" because they're too lazy to enjoy what they signed up for

    Full rear fender, Corsair front end set up, TracDynamics swingarm, Brock’s CF wheels....get er done son
    Also, loose those front and rear stock turn signals, def don’t flow with the look, especially a club style build...If you wanna keep signals then Alloy art strut signals for the rear and CustomD wrap arounds for the front or MotoGadget Blaze’s
    Woulda got a SDC short backrest as well....again, what you got doesn’t flow with a club style build
