Thank you Jay Cee for sharing this information! You’ve done a spectacular job with your series on El Salvador. Covering the sights, people, places, life in El Salvador, and now this information on the NIT number. At some point will you possibly cover immigration into El Salvador? Just curious. In the meanwhile, I’m patiently waiting to see if you ever actually do get that magnificent Dodge Journey into the country, or change your mind, drive it back home and use it as your family car. 🤣. You’re the best! 💯🏆🇸🇻
immigration. most likely not. unless I'm actually emigrating into El Salvador, the rules around that is deep. so I won't know unless I am actually trying to experience it. that Dodge Journey is toast but in the process of getting resurrected. I get word tomorrow if it works or not. until then, the mechanics in Guatemala have me by the steering wheel. thanks Randy.
You know that when you're a kid and misbehave your mom says vaya pues ,,meaning okay you're going to get some punishment w/ the belt ....and also like you're girlfriend says ,,I want to go to the movies instead of el tunco and you give in and say ,,vaya pues tu ganas meaning you win...😅
Hey brotha thank you so much for this info! Me and my partner just arrived in el Salvador recently from the States and we're looking to get our DUI's. Would you happen to know the process on getting those? What other documents we might need, do they accept birth certificates from America, etc? Thank you and safe travels to ya ✈️
Glad I could help. This is how you get a DUI if you are a permanent resident or citizen of El Salvador: www.mh.gob.sv/homologacion-de-nit-y-dui-simplifica-tramites/ Just follow all the steps in the website.
You always find the most economical way to get things done. Will be traveling there in the next few months to get my NIT. Quick question, can I just use my phone from here and by a Sim there to obtain a Salvador phone number or do I have to buy the phone there?
Thanks for watching. A foreign phone number will only work in El Salvador if you have a roaming plan and if the roaming is activated to be able to use in El Salvador. When they asked me for my phone number, they wanted a local 503 phone number, not foreign. So if you don't have one by the time you are at the Hacienda office, give them the phone number and address of a local family member, friend or hotel. You don't need to buy an actual phone while in El Salvador. Just the SIM card. You can easily purchase a Digicel, Claro or TIGO SIM card to place into a carrier/SIM-unlocked phone inside of most markets or corner stores. You just have to look at the small signs they have attached to their booth or store fronts. If your phone is not carrier/SIM-unlocked, you have to find a way to get it unlocked BEFORE you go to El Salvador. If you are still paying on your phone, it is most likely still locked to your current carrier. So you have to call or chat with them and ask for the unlock procedure if you met the "unlock my phone" threshold. If you haven't met the unlock requirements by the time you take your trip and you don't want to pay for an outrageous roaming charge, look inside of your sock drawer and pull out that old Android or iPhone. If those ancient phones are unlocked, then bring that phone with you. Then you will be able to use the local SIM cards from El Salvador inside your old phone. Cheers.

Just one. The NIT identifies you for all business and personal transactions. Same process in Guatemala as well.
