    2:52 the most perfectly articulated mello rip in the activity right there. Usually they’re slurred but that was gorgeous

      I'm not the biggest Bluecoats fan, but I still love the opener. I like Crown better. I also play mello.

      don't buy a mellophone, it's useful in two things, and only through college, and when you try to sell it after college, you'll probably lose at least half what you paid exactly for the reasons I mentioned before. just a recommendation, it's not a good financial decision.

    • @hooviedoovie5220
      @hooviedoovie5220 6 років тому

      Collin Thegamer why though? most of the jazz running isn't actually big enough steps to warrant jazz running. have a look at metamorph to see some real jazz running

    • @YaBoiBlake12
      @YaBoiBlake12 6 років тому +3

      mini hoov how big the steps are is irrelevant, it’s exhausting by the end of a 12 minute show regardless! if you’re doing it right atleast

    • @hooviedoovie5220
      @hooviedoovie5220 6 років тому

      Legoman20102 have you marched before? especially dci? because i completely disagree. I've marched shows that were less physically demanding than others and it was most definitely dependant on step size and tempo.

    • @YaBoiBlake12
      @YaBoiBlake12 6 років тому +1

      mini hoov yes I’ve marched for 3 years and will be mello section leader next year. If you are going all out to the best of your ability on a run through then you should be short of breath. With the way BOA is anymore, if it’s not a physically demanding show then it’s probably not good enough to place where you want. My school made top 30 on hornrank last season, did yours?

    • @hooviedoovie5220
      @hooviedoovie5220 6 років тому

      Legoman20102 my school's marching band sucks. but I've marched three years of dci open class, and what you're saying is true, the more physically demanding the show is, the higher the likely score will be. and that's why the bluecoats try to make their show look more physically demanding with fake jazz runs. and yes you're gonna be short of breath after any show, you're doing physical activity and not breathing as much as you should. but I'm talking like muscle fatigue and exhaustion, you're not gonna get that from an easier show.

    • @nathanlewis9388
      @nathanlewis9388 6 років тому +2

      It's just tradition. Drum and Bugle Corps have never had woodwind players in them and they still don't. They might eventually though, who knows.

      Idk what he uses but just as general information drum corps make everyone use the same mouthpiece in each section. You could probably look up what the bluecoats use.
