    Just unpacked and assembled my Grr-ripper. Did some experimental cuts and I love this tool!! I'm a professional sculptor of 30 years and my fingers are my life as, yours are. Talk about a stress level drop, worth every penny. Thanks guys.

    Just got talked into buying one today. (GR-200) More parts than the space shuttle. Now they say it's better with 2! Yikes. Almost $200 for $1.50 worth of plastic. And you must remove your anti-kickback pawls, and blade guard. It has more options than my TV remote, that I mostly only use a few functions. We'll see how it goes.

      Joe, we understand your concerns, but as you can see with the comments below, many woodworkers (including myself) will not use anything else in the shop. So, right here, I will invite you to check out our instructional videos (chapters 1-8 are here: www.microjig.com/videos#filter=.grr-ripper) and try the GRR-RIPPER out. If you still are not happy, contact me at ralph@microjig.com and we will buy it back from you. THAT is how sure I am that you will love it. Using the GRR-RIPPER makes everything I do in my shop more enjoyable because I am much safer. And I get better quality cuts.

    I bought a table saw for a hobby in my DIY jobs.. I've installed the knife to prevent kicks. But how safe is leaving the plastic guard off.. I'm looking to get a gripper. Thanks

    HOW do all of these people use these power tools without hearing protection?! I digress... I love my gripper push block. Every time I have a weird cut to make I'm able to figure out a way to make it safe to do using the grippers.

      I totally agree, it's dumb to use goggles and not hearing protections, because it's pretty difficult to injure your eyes rather than becoming deaf or cutting your fingers (thig i did, fuck me)

    this tool does not allow the use of overhead dust collection which IMO is worse because for the lungs; there are other safety mechanisms we can still use

    Would love to buy this product. But in New Zealand it is sold for 149$nz thats 100 US$ each. I wish there was a option to buy international form the USA that is half the price. I need two units. In New Zealand will coat me 400$ nz for the Model200 and 300$nz for the Model 200. This is supplied by one of your New Zealand distributors.

    I'm planning on buying one of these. They seem to get universal praise and seems to be the safest way to make narrow cuts. However I have been told you should never reach across the blade. But it seems there is no way to use this push block without reaching completely across the blade. Is that safe?

    • @Microjig
      @Microjig  10 місяців тому +1

      Shane, First, the GRR-RIPPER acts as your moving blade guard, keeping you hands well above the blade even if something goes wrong.
      Secondly, the GRR-RIPPER gives you a level of control where you can literally pull both the rip and the off fall parts away from the rip fence after the cut and bring them to the front left of the saw so you are not reaching across the blade to retrieve either part. It is a bit of a technique but highly effective.
      And most push sticks require your hand over the blade to clear the part from the cut area.
      Please feel free to call our office at (855) 747-7233 and I will gladly discuss all of this with you if needed.- Ralph
