Diehard Yankees fan here. Tommy Lasorda is my all time favorite manager. I honestly believe he was the best motivator and ambassador that baseball has ever seen. RIP Tommy. You will be missed.
Tommy, you and Scioscia made me fall in love with baseball and the Dodgers. I coach both my son's teams and still continue to play as a middle aged man! Greatest sport ever! Thank you Orel and RIP Tommy!
As a Tigers fan, I extended my condolences to everyone in the Dodgers community. Tommy Lasorda was not just a part of baseball, he was baseball. Rest In Peace!
Great Manager he will be missed. Another story I just heard. When Orel was pitching for the Indians and we were on the brink of elimination, Tommy called Orel and fired him up. Told him he wasn't a bulldog during his games he recently pitched. Now I see why in that game Orel came out with fire and won that game for us. Always wondered why all of a sudden Orel changed into this raging bulldog after being a puppy the last few games. Love you Orel. Thanks for the memories. One of the best players to ever put on the uniform and show what Baseball is and how it should be played.
I feel like Tommy was waiting for the Dodgers to win it before he went. Thank you from a little boy that grow up in LA. I watched you my hole life. Kobe and now this!!!!! What’s next!!
From a die hard Seattle Mariners fan up here in the NW, I want to say sorry to the dodgers fans for losing the best personality in Baseball........Tommy Lasorda
Tommy Lasorda-- a person you could never be sad when seeing or hearing--Even when he used swear words, you never heard any real disdain or hate; just heard some average frustrations of the immediate moment

Huge accolades coming from a fan of a team rich in tradition like the Yankees! Now, let's have another Dodger-Yankee World Series!
There will be only one Tommy Lasorda and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Great tribute by the Bulldog!
Thanks Orel for your words.

MOST CHARISMATIC MANAGER....
RIP.
Orel really loved Tommy! Like a father to him!
Obviously Tommy brought the best in Orel Hershiser, and it's great that he would take the time to share that with Major League Baseball.
R.I.P Tommy! The great Dodger is now in the sky!

Great Honor
I'll have some of what you're smoking! Great Dodger. Great Manager. NOT Lasorda Stadium, tho.
Orel looks very shaken. RIP Tommy
My dad tried out for the dodgers back in the 60's when Tommy was a scout. Blair Field in Long Beach.
He always said he wasn’t leaving until the Dodgers won another World Series. That man wasn’t lying
Im so happy he was able to the Dodgers win a World Series, besides everyone saying it’s only half a championship!!!
I feel like Tommy was waiting for the Dodgers to win it before he went. Thank you from a little boy that grow up in LA. I watched you my hole life. Kobe and now this!!!!! What’s next!!
Adiós Tommy, te queremos, soy dodger igual que tu de por vida
Bulldog always came through. Orel was that guy.

Rest in peace, Tommy. Now you & Vin Skully can talk about Dodger baseball. I am sure you got to shake the hand of God. What a blessing.

Like the sportscaster said, so great he got to see them win it again before his death!
RIP Tommy.
1988----OREL SAX!!
Lasorda is a winner and that’s all you have to say!
Now, "Love Ya Blue" has different meaning for Tom Lasorda. RIP
