They say Chinese cities changes a lot within 5 years. Last time I was in Shanghai was almost 20 years ago, and the only thing that I still remember well is the Huangpu River Cruise and the Oriental Pearl Tower.
I agree with you it's a matter of preference. Whether China is bad or not is your opinion, just like everybody has their own opinion. By the way, I live in the USA in Los Angeles, California. I am making my opinion on China based on the videos I've seen on UA-cam and people who have personally been there themselves. Just about everyone what traveled to China recently gave positive reviews. Probably you have not been to China yourself just like I haven't been to China either. But I want to visit that country someday.

Living in chinese big cities makes one to think he is in another planet, the infrastructures are so modern and environments so beautiful.
America is so behind when it comes to infrastructure and city life quality. Too bad our government spends so much, too much, on the war machine.
