Camille is a machine. Screw the wiki thing - it’s over and done and seriously didn’t hurt anyone although it was a ridiculous thing to do- it’s not like she was taking banned drugs like so many others.
This was not a moment of fail, this was deliberately done with a lot of effort just to distract and disrespect the competition. I would never invite her to any race, I organize.
Being controversial shouldn't stop someone from being allowed to compete, just so long as they are doing it "clean" people should be free to be controversial, but they have to accept that people are allowed to have an opinion on said controversy.
Being stupid on social media/ Wikipedia is not grounds for a ban from competition, especially if she has apologised, however, I suspect that it has had a salutory effect on her reputation that will deter others. That's enough "punishment".........
Camille still hasn’t properly apologised. That speaks volumes about her (and her husbands) motivation for the silly actions. I’m all for moving on, but that starts with a genuine, comprehensive apology.
Wanna ban athletes in any sport for a “violation” of xyz - fine just define the rules, apply equally to all before hand. Just because you don’t like what someone did even in poor taste if that thing didn’t violate an official rule of the sport then their athletic participation shouldn’t be an issue. That said athletes are often penalized greatly by sponsors (loss of income) for doing unpopular stupid things - fair enough. You represent a brand common sense dictates bad behavior probably would be rewarded as has been in her case.
No rules or laws broken, accept the apology. No mandate to be nice in ultrarunning. Plus track and multiday running are such a tiny tiny niche of what is already a niche sport itself. I know of no fellow ultra runners that have the least bit of interest in those events or records, nor do they enjoy running on a track or flat/non-technical course (like Tunnel Hill). So IMO it's a nothing-burger as Courtney's and other mountain trail runner's domains are a totally different sport and Yiannis is still the king. Love and forgiveness!
@@TrailsToTuryia not entirely sure what you’re saying here. Are suggesting it’s ok to be a dick and try to put down your fellow runners. One of the main tenets of ultra running is the community and the respect between runners. She basically just crapped all over that. Yes we move on but it’s not forgotten.
Love the BGR and the support people give each other. This is what I like in trail and ultra running .(not the trying to change the story side)

Shitty thing she done but not grounds for a ban imo
Definitely should be banned Stephen.
