  • The African School of Innovations Science and Technology (ASIST) in Kampala, Uganda, nurtures young scientists and innovators through STEM and Robotics education. Earlier this year, ASIST students mainly girls showcased their skills at the 2024 VEX Robotics Championship in Dallas, Texas, the world's largest robotics competition featuring teams from around the globe. Against all odds, their story shows what Ugandan youth can accomplish, making Uganda more famous for STEM education. To learn more about this team, VOA's Paul Ndiho spoke to Mr. Arinaitwe Rugyendo, the founder of ASIST/Young Engineers Uganda.
