I think it's fair to say that maintenance issues might not be the main problem here, especially considering Iran's strong history of keeping their aircraft fleet going under sanctions. they’ve gotten quite good at fixing and upgrading old planes like the F-14 Tomcats, which shows they know what they’re doing. bad weather can really mess with helicopters, affecting how well you can see, control, and navigate them.

It is difficult to gauge if the West wishes the East to do well or be forever trapped in time.
