I give a lot of great fire roll advice while using one to ignite a double handful of leaves.
I don’t think people realize just how much fire making energy is in leaves nor how enduring their coals are. I demonstrate with a hobo stove full of leaves and some Eastern Red Cedar that’s caught 3 days of rain recently.

Big wad of leaves like that somewhat compacted is essentially a large cherry on a large cigarette. Plenty of energy but not necessarily flame over time.

Why do you suppose the Mullein & Kudzo didn't work..? Too wet still..?

The Mullein definitely was too wet. I dug it out from under those leaves. There's no good explanation for those dry crispy Kudzu leaves failing like that. You can find a videos in the fire roll playlist that show green Kudzu, dry Kudzu, and even fibers from the vine fire rolling in cotton.

Oh yeah, not to mention, a video showing ashes in Kudzu fibers fire rolling, nicely. LOL!.
