Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! Back in the 80s when I worked at Sheldons Hobbies and raced at Innovations rRaceway in San Jose, all those cars you featured were obviously state of the art….nowadays they’re just plain cool!

The old bodies at 22:48 look like they were photoshopped in from an old magazine lol.. awesome cars

    REALLY NICE man!! I'm jealous!
But.. hey.. just figured I'd throw it out there ~ 33:14 ...
I had a body post on my son's truck (it's an electric converted "long" blue chassis RC10GT) that was making a noise, just like that... and it was driving me nuts... for a few runs. lol
I had just finished rebuilding the diff, and it was making a little chirp; coincidentally landing after a particular couple of jumps, every lap... lol
Anyways... Thanks for the vid! ...and I just noticed how old it actually was... haha (I'm sure you've fixed your "squeak" by now, w/e it turned out to be)
This was great, though! I subbed. 🙂👍

I've had a World's car since new. It sits in a box, the original as well, right behind me as I write this. One of the FIRST things I ever did when building the kit, yes 30 years ago, was toss the kit gear cover. It was PC, just like the body, and garbage IMO. It sports an RPM cover, which I dyed along with all the other nylon with the kit when I built it. You're not missing anything.

That wiring is looking super clean. Unlike when I was building RC10s as a teenager.

I think the reason why your car was making the weird nose that you said was because you use different lube on the diff thrust instead of black grease

I’ve gotta do some around country racing just racing and traveling gotta get my Gold pan I have 1991 too 1992 B stamp gold pan and I need too get it out and racing I’m ordering a new body shell too paint my race scheme on it and I’ve gotta find a replacement for the springs in the axles for the dog bones maybe more red o rings but I got the dog bones and white ball end cups and a few extra orders of pinion gears can never have enough of them Rc10 racing is always a good time what do you gotta do too turn it in too a carpet track more thicker grease in the differential gear? 🤔

Gold pans can be setup to do fairly well on carpet but they suffer from rear weight bias due to the rear motor setup. To counter this, you'll need to mount your battery as far forward as possible, preferably sideways as opposed to length wise. Some additional weight may be needed up front to get more steering and reduce the wheelies.
You'll need some JConcepts or similar 2.2" wheels to run modern carpet track tires. You may need to convert to 3/16" rear axles to fit those wheels. At that point you'll have plenty of traction which can be hard on the ball diff. You don't want it to slip or you'll be replacing balls often. Keep the preload spring tight but not fully compressed. I'm not familiar with any thicker ball diff grease. It's hard to get the ride height low enough on these cars. I was usually running around 22mm but it would be better to get down below 18mm to reduce traction roll. That's still high compared to modern buggies. Getting the ride height down may require a softer set of springs. Team Associated used to offer green and black springs which were softer than stock. It sounds like you may be running stealth transmissions which is good since you'll have a slipper clutch to save the ball diff from taking all the torque. Running the old 6 gear transmission with high power motors causes the plastic idler gears to fail since there's no slipper clutch. There's a sense of accomplishment in being able to drive a gold pan well on the track. Good luck!

@ thank you man appreciate it and you can always use more weight just put more weight up in the front like back in the day but some racers still do it thanks for the tips man I’ll have my Rc10 gold pan on my channel soon just with the holidays and the busyness of everything don’t have the time right now but I’ve got some plans for mine right now I’ve got a nice scale 1/10 track in my back yard I’ve been working on just haven’t had the energy to finish it hope your holidays go well and thanks for the tips again.

Did I miss something? Did you do the body? Wanted to see if it’s 1 colour and then decals or if multi paints

    • @HotTrackRC
      @HotTrackRC  Місяць тому

Sorry, I didn’t do that body but the graphics are all paint. You can cut an adhesive mask or use liquid mask and sculp that to get the teardrop effect.

Did the original 6037 Worlds car kit come with the mirage decal sticker sheet? My new in box 6037 didn't come with the mirage decals in the box. Just curious if the seller removed the sticker sheet from the kit :(

Congratulations on the 6037! Love that car. I don't have one so I can't say on the mirage sheet. The manual suggests it comes with decals. I have the 6002 re-issue which does come with the mirage decal sheet. The only thing missing from the box art body are the large #1 plates.
