- After running this RC4wd TF2 4Runner at USTE, I realized its pretty well built, but needed a few finishing touches. So I picked up some goods at the ultimate scale truck expo for it.

I flat bellied mine with a sheet of 1/8” ABS, t case on a U joint, Phat 90 axles, direct voltage steering servo, single leaf front and rear.
She’s a fun little beast.
Right on get out and do your RC, And support them local Harvey’s shops. Appreciate your sharing I’ll be watching for more
Molotow makes a pretty good paint pen. I can find them at my local Hobby Lobby. They are in the art section in my store.
Their chrome pens in particular are AMAZING!
I’ll have to explore their pens more. I love the chrome pen I have.
Molotow liquid chrome is the most chrome marker on the planet, it looks as good or better than foil! They are also pricey, but worth it if you need some really chrome chrome. The Molotow markers are great, but for RC I would recommend Uni paint brand markers. They have a tough oil based paint that is significantly harder to scratch or flake than most paint pens.
Wow...looks great...
Dude she’s definitely a beauty! Love the way it looks with them wheels and tire package!👌😎👍nicely done!
That rig looks great. I like the idea of having a dropped rear window off track. Keep it up!
Once they come out with the Trailfinder 3 with the 4Runner body I’ll get one, I really like the look you went with very nice looking rig great job!👏
Great project, as always.
You mentioned looking for weathering products. I found these at my local Hobbytown store. I don't know what the manufacturer is. The individual containers just have tags - BRE61 & BRE269. I don't know if you've tried them. Them come in a powder form. I have 2 Crossrc trucks. MC6 and MC8. I used a stiff bristled brush to apply them to the white rims and the bodys after I painted them. I haven't had any problems with it rubbing off.
I should’ve done my homework, I bought the A&M Rock sliders made for the trail finder 2 they are awesome but I was thinking that the Mojave body was the same width as the forerunner so I have a throw in some 5 mm spacers I have their skid plate as well excellent products! Also purchased a front bumper leafs spring shackle Belton reverse kit . They actually make one for the forerunner I have the one for the Mojave. Brought the axle 4 mm forward. Just got out of work me and the boy, we’re gonna take it out just mud on it!
You gotta get the mini winch from rc4wd I got the wrong one first too. But they make one that fits.
^This. Plus, the mini winches are a lot more proper size for correct scale, and they're just as strong as the slightly larger version. They have the same motor and gear set.
Thanks
It's cool ~~ I'm going to watch the video well ~~^^
Look on Scale Builders Guild. He just did a video on that. Or RC Girl she just did one too.
New to the channel, but man I'm enjoyin your content! Keep Up the great work!
Thank you sir! Glad to have ya!
My new redcats gen 7 will out crawl this. Gobbless borther
My TRX4 will out crawl your Gen 7.
It’s not about what works the best, it’s about running what you want.
Some people want realism and scale perfection in their build which the Gen 7 is lacking pretty badly.
@Jefferyl22 my gen 7 will smoke anything out there. Your trx will barely make it over grass clibbins
@@jamesburch716 it definitely won’t keep up with my Everest.
Typically brushed motors you're used to are 3 slot, and the Holmes Crawlmaster are 5 slot. That's why the turns don't equate between the two. I can't remember 100%, but I think that 20 turn is equivalent to a 45ish turn 3 slot. The 5 slot motors are a LOT smoother, particularly at low speed, over 3 slot. That truck came with a lot of nice stuff on it, and you just finished it up with what you added; it should be an awesome rig. Now you just need to switch all those red zip ties for black. lmao
Haha! I just got back from the store with black zip ties🤣 great minds
@@RCeverydaylol Damn right, brother!
That's funny. I can't buy savox servos anymore either. They're just too dang noisy no matter how good they are
😉👍
My bad. For the weathering stuff
What tools do you use? Are there any good kits available? I'm very new...want a good set.
Ive got a very old integy set I have had for 25 years, right now I am using my bowhouseRC multitool the most. It has everything but a nut driver for wheel nuts. The tips of the bits on it are much more durable than most I have used. bowhouserc.com/bowhouse-rc-all-in-one-tool/
Let's go Brandon
how much did you pay for this rig
I paid $400 I think for the chassis with some of the mods. The body set was around $150, wheels tires probably around $100, the bumpers are cchand and expensive $300. Easily have over $1000 bucks in it. 🤦♂️ lol
