- Beautiful tune taken from the album "Later That Evening" (1982) by German bassist Eberhard Weber (feat. Lyle Mays, Bill Frisell a.o.). I was always wondering how it would sound as a solo piano version - so here we go, hope you like it :-)
here is my Metheny/Mays playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PLTFdSA2EkOE0jfY7Z6B2qef23NvBAuR7L.html
One of my favorite track since the 80s ECM MUNICH RECORDS
This only has 5400 views? Oh what an ignorant world we live in that cannot appreciate the beauty of this. Eberhard is one of my favorite musicians and this wonderful arrangement of his work is captivating.
Thank you, Jim! Unfortunately, Eberhard has never experienced the recognition that he deserved (perhaps because he remained in Germany and never went in the US)...
Uwe Karcher: You are fantastic!
Uwe, tu l’interprètes magnifiquement........du fond du cœur,bravo. Luc
Fantastic, you have been able to recreate the atmosphere of this beutifully delicate melody with respect, love and creativity!
All my compliments!
Paolo
Beautiful piece, beautifully played. I thought nothing could ever come close to the original; this equals it in my view, in a different way. Thank you very much.
Uwe,you are really playing this piece in an incredible way.Everything is perfect, and, mainly, the emotion is there. You deserve to be heard, and loved...Thank you...I'm sure both Eberhard and Lyle, who is gone away now, would have appreciate...
thank you very much, mate 🙏🏻
Thx a lot
Danke, Rufus!
You play this wonderful piece beautifully, thank you Uwe! I love Eberhard's music in my heart and soul!
Very welcome, Susan - thank you :-)
Beatufil music..! Great Eberhard
Thank you so much for this outstanding rendítion of Mauritius!
A jewel ❤❤❤
Great Job! This is one of my favorite Eberhard compositions.
Absolutely brilliant!
Amazing!!
Wow! One of my favorite albums of all time. Love this track and always wanted to learn this one. One of the more under-rated Lyle and Bill Frisell albums
One of my favorites. Weber is not well known in Spain, and I could never see him live, but when I noticed he realised a new album in 2012, i felt very happy. One of the most excitings bass players ever. Good performance, thak you!!!!
Fantastic performance. Thank you. Extra ordinary
Thank you, Floris - much appreciated!
thanks, Pedro. And I agree with you - Weber is great! It´s rare that you recognize a bass player from the very first tone - with Eberhard this is the case.
Thank you so much

Excellent rendition! Perfect touch on the very quiet sections. I kept longing to hear McCandless' soaring soprano sax but your improvised piece fit nicely.

I just discover your interpretations and am very impressed. They really have a very deep sensibility and are beautifully arranged.
I was very touched when I heard the first vinyls of Eberhard Weber and Pat Metheny/Lyle Mays, and It would be a great opportunity to reconnect those ECM days having, if possible, some of your transcriptions. Tx in advance!
Gustavo Fourcade Thanks a lot, Gustavo. I have sent you an email with further info about my transcriptions. Cheers, Uwe
Lovely! I also would be very interested in our transcriptions, @@ukaykeys Where can I buy them?

thanks, Wasseem! There will be more to come :-) BTW, did you already check out my "September 15th" version - guess you´ll like that, too...
Hi Uwe, is your music available in CD, or as an mp3 download? Just fantastic!
Thank you very much, Tom! It's not easy to publish music from other composers due to copyright issues 😬 So I don't have CDs or mp3s available yet...
come riprendi il suono...quali microfoni usi Uwe. Pezzo nella tua versione fantastico
Ciao, I´m playing a YAMAHA GA1. I prefer a brilliant piano sound and asked the tuner to intonate my piano that way. So a piano sound is not so much a matter of size than a matter of intonation. I have searched very long to solve the problem of too much reverb in my records. The solution is to keep the piano lid closed with the mic inside fixed with tape under the lid (I use the Applied Microphone Technology M40, which is very good). The rest is traditional sound engineering (i should mention that I studied sound engineer before I studied classical piano; my studio equipment is pretty good meanwhile :-). The reverb is from Logic 9 „Goldverb“. I also used the Logic Compressor & Exciter.
Have you written this down? Some of your transcriptions are incredible. Can you message me? I’d like to get PDFs if you have them.
yes, all of the music I play in my videos is written down! You can contact me: uver@gmx.net for more info about my transcriptions...
Hey! That sounds just great! Could you upload the sheets for it please?
Hi Jonas, just contact me for more info about my transcriptions: uver@gmx.net
Could you send me the sheet please? That would be really great!
Hi Jonas, just contact me under uver@gmx.net for more info about my transcriptions...
Damn.
The ONLY way this could have been 'better' was to have been recorded on a full-size grand.
😁
Nina’s Tragedies got me here.
? You have to explain that... :-)
It is an Israeli film.
Nina Tragedies played this.
I see - and this tune was in the movie?
Yes.
I like so much this album of Eberhard Weber and this choice an interpretation is a real pleasure thanks for that
Very welcome, Christian - thank you very much!
