I hate this season with a passion. I wonder how the third season will be Cause they completely ruined Donald and Ann in this one. They turned them from likeable characters with flaws into just awful awful people.
@@eduardo_corrochio Mattel came out with a That Girl Barbie doll, at the height of the t.v. show's popularity. A bit before my time, and budget, but I'm sure they sold like the proverbial hot cakes.
Phyllis Garr is Terri Garr's mother, and, she also did the costumes for Mel Brooks' 'Young Frankenstein'... Brilliance in casting, production, also - Gary Marshal is truly English and passed away in 2019; he was born in 1933. No relation to Gary and Penny Marshall.
No relation, but most certainly a connection. ua-cam.com/video/Uk72Pfhp688/v-deo.htmlm29s ...along with Penny's husband being in several episodes himself, starting in Season 1.
Donald has clocked AT LEAST three guys in this series. So funny. Marlo Thomas had such a beautiful neckline and posture. Saw her browsing a clothing rack across the isle, maybe 6 or 8 feet away, at an upscale dept store in Chicago back in the mid-70's. I am 5'4. Marlo an easy 5'6-5'7 and quite thin. Long black hair. Def taller than she appeared on tv.
Clocking guys, rightly or wrongly, still happens to this day on TV. It's a holdover from the era of chivalry. Personally, I'd be very concerned about a guy who's triggered enough to become violent with another guy who's obviously been yanking his chain.
The outro credits show her flying her hair kite on a dock which serves as a helipad. Though the famous Pan Am Chinooks operated off the roof of the famous Pan Am building. Iconic 60s.
@@phillypersonpretzel Because the trip was much faster by helicopter for those (usually wealthy) people who lived in Manhattan were the Pan Am building was located. You're talking minutes instead of hours it would take to drive to JFK from Manhattan on the freeway. That helicopter service was daily in the 1960's
Noel at 4:18 has the line so many English characters say in TV and movies. But in 5 trips to England and meeting English people in the US, I have never in real life heard any Englishman start any sentence with the words, "I say." And at 18:56, the film is reversed. It is clear from the tail on the plane, which reads AWT rather than TWA.
Thank goodness Marlo had that teaching degree credential to fall back on, in case her superstardom on t.v. did not work out. She would not have starved. Whew!!
The two best episodes of the series 😄

I loved the proposal episode.
@@FriendlyCroockWhat the fuck is your problem?🤪
such a wonderful show makes me smile a great actress
Breathtaking. One of my favs. These two patterns rock.
Meant two part part episodes.
My favorite episodes of That Girl! ❤❤❤❤❤
I agree! It was really good.
Not quite Captain Dumb Dumb material but very close! Love it!
Captain Dumb Dumb really loved That Girl.
I wonder if Marlo Thomas did any modelling herself. She seems to be a natural at it.
yes, I think Marlo did do some. Modeling
In this series Marlo always reminded me physically of a brunette Barbie doll. Very striking, and in the right outfit she seemed like a magazine cover.

@@randilevson9547 Yes, wouldn't surprise me if they were very much in demand.

She looked beautiful

Thanks for sharing this.
She DID seem short on TV, for some reason.

They flew to California in a helicopter? Love this show.😊
No, not to Cali in helicopter, but from NYC to JFK airport. God knows why.
@@phillypersonpretzel Much faster than driving for rich people with helicopters.

@@dahawk8574 At least one of U.S. President used that helipad (possibly more) on their visit to the UN building located on the east river

They reversed the jet on purpose, attempting to show it going back to the east.
Well, the movie "Blow up" must have been quite the inspiration for these two episodes.
Noel should have bought a propeller.
But the true homage was 14:49.
The literal blow up.
Fun fact: Marlo Thomas is USC graduate and holds a BA teaching degree
Thank goodness Marlo had that teaching degree credential to fall back on, in case her superstardom on t.v. did not work out. She would not have starved. Whew!!
Both Lew and Noel referred to Donald as "Hollinger." Contemptful, to say the least.
You know the girls these day would show up at door naked and wouldn't have any shame!!!!
Many would even suggest it.
When Anne leaves California, the image of her plane is reversed. The company logo on the tail says AWT, not TWA, for "Trans-World Airlines."
QUITE AN ACTRESS.
