It’s gotta be tough playing 5-6 nights a week. Sleep deprived, travel, booze and an endless stash of blow provided by the R&R doctor. The body can only take so much. Oz had to sing every night and that’s a tall order. He carried the torch as long as he could with Sabbath. Then he comes out with Blizzard and gets a leg up on EVERY ONE!
Indeed. Before criticising Ozzy or any other singer maybe people should try walking in their shoes on a big tour. They probably wouldn't get far. The pressure to perform well every night must be intense when you know there's a crowd who has paid to see you who wants to get their money's worth of entertainment.
Who said anyone is perfect or untouchable? People love Ozzy BECAUSE he isn't perfect or untouchable. He's vulnerable, yet powerful. He's relatable. He loves his fans and we love him!
Ozzy’s voice doesn’t stretch much farther. This is super high for any singer. I wish I could sing like that.. what’s with the poser comments? He’s a legend.
I was there. The concert was on a Friday and Van Halen was the supporting act. VH played but Ozzy was a no show so they gave a rain check to see both bands the following Sunday. A recording of Van Halen's set is also on UA-cam.
@@TENSE1983videos no,but I can tell you the songs that he did on the last days of the 70s black Sabbath,A hard Road was his last ever single that he came out with shortly before he was fired in 1979 and never say die was his last ever studio record that came out with the original lineup.
Sounds like he'd screamed his guts out way before they got to this song & his voice was giving out. Didn't pace himself. (He is known to get a bit carried away) 🎤😝
All the Speak of the Devil vocals were re-recorded in the studio. You can find soundboard recordings of those two shows and he sounds worse than he does here.
@@michaelgarcia2050 I couldn’t stand that album, I was in high school when it came out, I’m a live evil guy. Between the overdubs and Brad Gillis’ whammy bar UGG🤦♂️
While I’m only having a brief glance at this show, nothing sounds particularly bad about it to my ear. Sure Ozzy could be singing a hell of a lot better but it’s not unbearable. Snowblind is still quite good from what I listened, especially instrumentally. Can you perhaps give me some notably bad moments or something so I can see where people are coming from when they say it’s Ozzy’s weakest? Honestly from what I can hear so far I probably would’ve had a fun time at the show watching sabbath(I don’t care for van halen).
@scissors65 Hmmm, I always wondered about that! They went from C# tuning on the '75 Sabotage 😉tour to standard tuning for the next two tours. Also, Tony always took center stage (funny for a guy that just stood still) and had Ozzy sing directly in front of his full-volume billion watt backline.
Maybe... But Ozzy didn't cared his voice. By the way, Tony & Geezer downtuned their guitars to Eb tuning in the last 1978 shows. It can be heard in their concerts in Abilene TX and Long Beach CA, December 1978
I've heard better from seeing them live but it's ok. I wouldn't have been disappointed if I'd been in that crowd. I actually missed that tour unfortunately.
He doesn't sound great but he's carrying a tune at least. The same can't be said of some of Bruce Dickinson's live performances in the late 80s.. And unlike Ozzy he's supposed to be a "great" singer.
Ozzy is not Whitney Houston; he's not meant to get it right every time. That's one of the wonderful things about him, he often stumbles upon greatness. The things that made him a compelling frontman also meant that he would occasionally dial up a turd like this one. I bet the audience is still having a blast, regardless.
Not really embarrassing at all. Actually kinda admirable. Ozzy had sung like this for the whole year just to promote an album, night after night, dude was tired asf but didnt give up.

@@rumpraisin couldn’t agree more my friend.
And part of what the audience wanted to see was ozzy and the boys blasted out of their minds high. They just were delivering the goods.

That's the main thing always about Ozzy is yes he's genuine and relatable That's why I have loved the man for almost 40 years
Thank you for sharing this historical record.
Ozzy’s voice doesn’t stretch much farther. This is super high for any singer. I wish I could sing like that.. what’s with the poser comments? He’s a legend.
Can't deny a lot of stuff but that last part made him seem like a Dio fan haha
Why are you defending a horrific vocal performance? His voice was fucked, it could happen to anyone.
he had a bad night. WHO CARES! he probably did some bad blow
exactly!
This isn't high enough for Bruce Dickingson hahah.

So is one of the full Sabbath set.
I was there too! They trashed the auditorium after Ozzy didn’t show.
Then you remember the riot that insued right? I was front row for the 1st show. On the mezzanine the second show on that Sunday afternoon
The recording’s quality is pretty great. The performance isn’t too bad. I actually like how Ozzy sang rock n roll doctor.
Its not Ozzy its Bill
Rasmus Jarlegren you’re thinking of it’s alright or swining the chain
No i mean the part that Bill sing gotta se my rck doc
@@ILoveZeldaGames that’s Ozzy singing
8:10 what was that???
Sounds like a thunderclap or whatever its called
fireworks
Holy shit...I was at this show
Ozzy did sing Never Say Die again, in NYC Sept 26th & 27th 1982, it's on the Speak Of The Devil album...
No lol, it was all overdubbed.
@@PinkFloydBootlegs He did perform it live.
Here it is without the overdub ua-cam.com/video/1NhZ14wiTzw/v-deo.html
actually like the way he lowers his voice for the chorus on rock and roll doctor.
I think its bill that sings that part
@@ILoveZeldaGames it's Ozzy not bill ward Ozzy can lower his voice you know that right?
I mean Ozzy did say he would attempt it
when did he say that?

This must be his very last concert before he was fired from black sabbath in 1979.
Jon Flowers I was there, and I think you’re correct.
Tour ended in December of that year. I have a recording of December 7 in Abellienne, TX . The tour ended a few days later, check setlistfm.com
How many songs were played on this show, also could you send me any Ozzy's last shows thanks

For me this is what made Ozzy even better. He lived for R&R

Awesome!!!
Thanks!!
Ozzy sounds like total tired
Misleading title
The Bee Gees thing is irrelevant and obviously a joke on Ozzy's part. Oh and disco does suck always has always will
If you didn't know, Ozzy convered Stayin Alive. It's up on UA-cam.
he sang it again in 1982 on speak of the devil.
Ozzy cantou nesse show todo cagado e mijado... cocaine!
ozzy sang this song better in 1982 on "speak of the devil"

This recording doesn't justify your description.
the instruments were tuned too high for ozzy's range. i think it was a sabotage to fire him ?

On this tour they also played Snowblind in E which was step and a half from original tuning. Also not the easiest song to sing.
That has been mentioned somewhere else. Some felt Tony was pushing Oz's voice purposely too hard... I dunno....
