- I got some paddle wheels the other day and I figured it was time to give them a try. No one has successfully done the Hoss so I figured why not try to be the first. Like, comment, and subscribe to see more!

I will give you some tips to hydroplane a hoss.
1.) Put the 60+mph optional gearing on the hoss.
Note: there is a gearing chart in the back of the box and the out of the box speed is 40mph
2.) use 3s 5000mah Lipo batteries.
3.) Tape the paddle tires to make it last longer.
Make another video so we can see if it actually works.

Definitely need a plywood runup going into the water so you had a smooth entry and you definitely need to be going top speed on entry as well lol. Great video buddy.
I think the thing killing me was the tires not being plugged too. I’d get that far in and it would sink and die

@@justinsrccars yeah you needed to plug the air holes in the rims. I just slap a piece of electrical tape over the vent hole on the inside of the rims. I think you have a decent chance at doing it with those few things.
You also have to go full speed

I love this channel. RC videos for guys that are novices like me. But this one had me rolling. You gotta cover the vent holes of tires before you go in the water bro. Or else your tires fill up with water and you sink faster. 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

And just tie a long string or like a 200ft paracord to the back of it amd let it drag so you don't gotta jump in yourself lol.

cut a pool noodle in half and secure it to the body of the car under the shell to help it float and maybe add some weight to it?

You need a gas truck. I have an old 1/8th scale truck. 90% of it is all aluminum. And does your water truck have a kick-plate on the front? Helps it to plane on the water.
You're a trip,,,,i could use a brushless rc basher truck. Any used ones. 57 paraplegic needs a man for while he's stuck in rehab.

When you hydroplane you have to go for throttle
I feel like you could tie 200ft of string to the back of it and when it fails just pull it back...
I had fishing line in my office but worried about it wrapping around the axle and doing more harm than good

Make it faster bigger pinion or use 3S lipo and go slow and then go full throttle

its got nothing to do with the weight. Its the speed. The hoss does not have enough RPM to hydroplane.
You got to go faster and you can water proof receiver with hot glue
